I asked this on a different thread but no one responded sooo maybe you can help.

We kennel our dog at the Ft. Wilderness kennel- we stay at the cabins. Now in the past it has been a HUGE pain to leave the parks to go over and walk her 2 or 3 times. It takes up hours to do this.

Then it dawned on me- can I pay for her to stay at the kennels at the fort- pick her up in the morning, leave her at the kennel at the park we are visiting and then bring her back to the fort all on the same dime? OR would we have to pay at both places/per day if we took her with us to the parks? :confused3
Does that make sense?? I'm trying to find a way NOT to have to leave the parks and go back to the fort 2 times a day to walk her. I'm figuring just going to the kennel at the park would be so much easier. So my question is do I have to pay for both places?

I'm not certain but I'd guess you would have to pay twice.:confused3 You'll have to decide if the extra expense is worth it. I'd also take into consideration how all this moving will effect your pet. The few times I've used WDW kennels it took my pets several days to get use to the place, but after a few days they actually started to bond with the CM's (we had them feed;) )

There is always going to be a certain degree of hassel when traveling with pets, but they are members of the family.:lmao:

I'm not sure if the other kennels allow overnight stays....but maybe you could leave the pet at the park/kennel you visit each day and switch on the mornings you visit different parks?

No, you only have to pay one time. You can bring your receipt with you from one kennel to another. We've done this with our dog! You'd have to drive from place to place, since they are not allowed on the buses - but it works! :goodvibes

And, you still have to go back to the kennel to walk them every 2-3 hours, but if they're at the kennel at the park it's much easier!

How about a local kennel in say Kissimmee or Clermont FL. Both are about 20 minutes from the Fort. Try search on google for Kissimmee, FL Dog kennels.

great! Thanks for the info. We will plan on taking her with us to the park and put her in that kennel. Just have to make sure she's back before the kennel at the fort closes. Or I wonder if someone at the front desk can open the kennel?? Hmmm, so many questions. Sorry.

Wow! Thats a really nice perk for someone who needs to kennel! Wish I had known you could do that years ago when you HAD to kennel at FW.

It does take her a few days to adjust, but since we were just there last month I'm hoping her memory is of good thoughts. :rotfl2:

The first trip - the cm nicknamed her the whiner. Whenever we left she howled and howled. It was her first time away from us. Now she's better.
