Hi, my son is a little space nut and I would love to take him there- plus my husband loves learning about new things so this would be great for the both of them;)! I just wanted to know how do you tour it? Is there different centers? I can't really find anything on that and I do see that on the internet they have a lot of buildings. I have been to the one in Texas as a kid and they had a lot of things to do- is this one similar? And I needed a good hotel to stay at just for one night and reasonably priced! I emailed about the free tickets from the senator so I am waiting to hear back on that, otherwise I do want to do the lunch with an astronaut. Is there anything else anyone suggests? Any and all suggestions are welcome! We will be going to the space center on the 9th and 10th.

I have two boys and they, and I, loved Kennedy Space Center. And that was before either of them had an interest in it. If your son already likes space stuff, he'll love it! I recommend visiting the Astronaut Hall of Fame, which is included in your ticket, on your way to the main center. There are all kinds of hands on activities to do, and if you go there first, it won't be as crowded. Most people do it after they do the main center. It is a few miles before the main complex.
We also did Lunch with an Astronaut and found it to be interesting. They got to meet him afterwards and we got photos with the astronaut. They also got a signed photo from him.
I recommend doing the IMAX and the Space Shuttle Launch Experience while there, too.
Warning: the gift shop is amazing, be prepared!!!
Have fun!:thumbsup2

I am a little confused about free tickets to the Kennedy Space Center. I looked up my senator and found only free tickets/tour to the kennedy center in DC. I googled free tickets and didn't come up with any info other than links to the disboards. I have never heard of anyone getting into the Space Center without paying for tickets. Please tell me what I am missing here! :confused3

If you can't get the free tickets, Travelzoo is offering adult tickets for the price of the child right now. Saves $10.00 per adult.

the free tickets must be requested 6 months in advance of the visit and one must know the exact date they want to visit. We requested them from our congressman and 4 was the limit. We made our request at the 6 month prior mark. They do not send tickets but have them at will call window

Thanks for the tip! We are going to Kennedy at the end of this month, and this saved me some cash :thumbsup2

Is there a website that shows this? I am in NY and emailed and they are not sure of the tickets that I am referring to. She asked if I could email her back the information on the tickets.

thank you! I am excited to bring him there! Is there like a touring plan or do you just go in and it's easy to navigate?

I heard about it here, never seen a website and just took a shot and wrote my congressman and followed up with a call.
