Sorry, guess I should have directed my response to Cindyluwho. I took her post to mean she's basically saying that Kendra is a better Christian than any of us might be because we're being judgmental. That seemed like it was looking to open up discussions of Christianity, which could/would lead to points and potential bannings for discussing a tabu subject.
ummmm, this whole thread is about Christianity and whether or not Kendra is a worthy Christian.![]()
I do not know whether Kendra is sincere or not. She might just be talking about raising her child with high morals, who knows at this point. While we don't judge, we see who one is by their fruit or actions. So, time will tell.
However, it doesn't matter what your past is to god if you are sincere, He forgives. That's how Christianity works. So, if she is sincere, she would be forgiven for past mistakes just as we all are if that's the life we choose.[/QUOTE]
I guess this is where my issue lies. Live like a complete heathen, then decide you're sorry after all the fun is over? And then, once you've been "saved" apply a different set of rules to your child and pass judgment on them because they don't live up to your new standards? I think it's completely hypocritical.
I am glad to say I have no idea who these two people are. At all!
YAY!
But I wish them well.
sometimes those that have found religion tend to go totally in the opposite direction from what they did.
well since she was pregnant at the wedding, unless it was an "immaculate conception" we know she wasn't abstaining.
Exactly. It is not hypocritical to decide to change how you live when you have a baby and to raise that child to not make some of the mistakes that you made.Isn't that what most parents try to do? We don't go around encouraging our kids to drink/smoke pot/have pre-marital sex/etc though we may have done it. I guess for those perfect people this isn't an issue but I'd venture a guess that most people do have pasts they don't want their kids repeating.
No. It's religion. Wrapping up your religious dogma in history to get around a rule against religious discussions is not appropriate. Heck, I'm pretty sure that I can cite a commandment that speaks to the issue.I know what you're saying but the phrase "Immaculate Conception" does not refer to Mary's miraculous pregnancy with Jesus. It refers to her own birth and the fact that she was born immaculate or without original sin-a pure vessel who would become the mother of the Savior.
Mods, I hope you don't get annoyed. It's history.

You might want to talk to Jesus and or God about that one then. I am pretty sure they are a little more forgiving that you are apparently. I am sure you can throw a rock and hit a Christian who hasn't always been so "good". That makes them hypocrites too? And I think there's something about being judgemental too.....
