Kendra Plans To Be Strict Christian Mother, Reveals Baby Names

Exactly. It is not hypocritical to decide to change how you live when you have a baby and to raise that child to not make some of the mistakes that you made.
Exactly . . . my understanding is that she made no claims to be a Chrisitan while she was living a "wild life". Now she's saying that she's changed -- IF she lives up to her new promises, then we can assume that she learned her lessons (though people will always say, "Yeah, but don't you remember?") and is a different person now.

LOTS of things influence people to change their ways and live a better life -- having a baby is one of those things.

I don't know if her and Hank had an agreement or a serious talk but I sure hope she can stop drinking. Most of these shows are scripted, but she gets drunk in almost every episode. It's not just shots or drinks, they catch her drinking out of the bottle. She claims she is 16 weeks pregnant, she had to be pregnant at her bachelorette party in Vegas.

I'm okay with everyone thinking I'm wrong. If I wasn't okay with it, I wouldn't have posted in the first place. It's how I feel and I won't change my opinion just because others disagree. I'm so sick and tired of seeing so many stars, clergy, polilticians, etc. hiding behind their religion. They use it when it's convenient for them, and drop it when it's not. I get that no one is perfect, but I also don't go around calling myself a good Catholic, Christian, Jew, Protestant, etc., while knowingly doing things that go against my faith, on a regular basis. As a PP said, time will tell. I truly hope she changes her lifestyle, but I doubt it.

I read an article where she said she took a pg test before visiting her soon-to-be inlaws (which was a few episodes before her visit to Vegas, the one where she went topless skydiving).

If you go by their due date..

First Day of Last Menstrual Period:March 20, 2009
Probable Date of Ovulation: April 3, 2009
Possible Dates of Conception: March 30 to April 7, 2009
Due Date: December 25, 2009 (40 weeks)

That episode was taped in March according to a calendar shown. She said she considered it some girl time and a pre-bachelorette party.

I really should get cable or satellite......

Don't get too excited. It was just cream colored flying blurry blobs. Get the DVD's if you want detail. ;)

I have to say that I just love Kendra!! She doesn't seem to have a mean spirited bone in her body. She lives life to the fullest and it's no one's place to say she should do it any differently!

Hank seems like a really decent guy with a really caring family. I hope the fame train doesn't derail them and that they have a great life together.

Well I don't think your wrong. I think it is sick for people to go about living their lives as they please and then all of sudden when they get a disease and think they are going to die, get preggo, loose someone in death then all of sudden they are "religious"......It's like someone said if she was feeding her face full of meat and said she was going to raise her child to be a strict vegetarian......the analogy definitely applies. Granted we all are imperfect yes but I don't put standards on my child that I myself couldn't do. It reminds of a couple I went to school with. They were seriously dating for like at least 2 years in high school. They got drunk, had sex, etc. and when I see them on facebook now he is a preacher and they have boys. Don't get me wrong I think it's great they changed but I often wonder if they would have a fit if their boys did the same exact things they did in high school? Would they be merciful as God has been with them. That is my problem with the whole thing. For me this really hits home because that is what my parents did to me. They did as they pleased pretty much all of their lives and then all of sudden had a "religious" awakening and became soooo strict on me it was ridiculous. It was like in their minds they were atoning for their own sins by trying to make me a perfect Christian (which I am not and do not claim to be by the way!). While I am glad for the most part that they imparted some wonderful Christian morals in me as an adult I look back on their behavior and can't help but think "Hypocrites!"

It took me a minute to see what you were saying was directed at someone else and not at my comment. I agree with you. :thumbsup2

When sincereity is involved, forgiveness is a wonderful, wonderful thing for all of us. Whether it is between God and people or people and people. We all want to apology to be sincere and we all want people to try very hard not to repeat the same mistake.

Kendra may or may not be meaning anything this deep at all, but time will tell, won't it?

darn quote-mess up!! You're right, it wasn't directed at you! :thumbsup2

I just don't get the "I'm tired of it" mentality. Someone is always trying to do better and start over. Life is all about forgiveness and if you don't forgive you'll just dry up and blow away.

So you just lump everyone trying to turn themselves around as hypocrites like that horses behind? Excuse me for giving someone a second chance or not judging their decisions. They want to raise their kid in a way of life better than what she lived, go for it.

So is he a horses behind (as you have judged him to be) or should we give him a second chance and not judge his decisions? :confused3

oooh aren't you the clever one! Really.

Calling someone a horses behind and judging what they are doing, why they are doing it, and condeming everyone who suddenly finds religion are two very different things. Or judging anyone on any decision they make, for whatever reason. That's why it's called "finding religion"-because they just found it. Remember, these are celebrity couples that we only see a little snippet of their life, and really, I cannot get worked up enough about them to sit and rain harsh judgement down about their decisions. They can raise their kid to be a Christian or a Biker, it really doesn't affect me in the least.

Still don't get the I'm-tired-of-it mentality, and don't care.

Obviously we (collectively) each have our own points of view on this. You (collectively) believe what you want, I'll believe what I want. At the end of the day, I couldn't care less what Kendra does or how she raises her kid. Someone posted something, I commented on how I felt, end of story. Think of me what you will and judge me as you will from this one post. I'd love to say "no hard feelings" but I'm betting many people will continue to think I'm a complete ***ch and regardless of any other post or topic, I'll always be a judgmental ***ch. (Starred out by me, because I don't want points for using inappropriate language). I'm sure there are many topics I would agree with others on (and have in the past), but this obviously isn't one of them.

Imagine that, just as I posted previously, a religious topic on the CB. :confused3

I'm sure it must have been hard for you to share your story -- thank you. :flower3:
