When you finish your meal, the server will bring the bill, which will show the prices and total cost of the meal, including tax and tip. That's the only time you will see those numbers at many restaurants, so you need to jot it down.
You then give them your room key, the server disappears, magic occurs, and they return with a $.00 receipt, which will show the remaining number of that category of credits remaining. (e.g. "12 TS credits remaining," or maybe "8 A/TSs, 4 C/TSs remaining" if they segregate the A/C credits in the computer)
That receipt is going to be the only one you take away from the restaurant in most cases, and it makes a convenient place to write down the dollar amount.
