Me and my 4 babies are going to Disney in Oct and I gotta keep down $$$. We want to be at Pop Century or value and I think we can cuz by yonger baby is 2. The flying is alot of $$$ but I save a bit out of my check every month and sold some stuff on Ebay and have that. I saw someone say free dining is at Pop. Is this true. How do I get it. I am staying for 5 nights and will use disney buses so no $$ on driving. If I can get value and free dining I will be soooooooooooooooo happy!! It would be a dream come true. wow!!! Also does Disney take food stamps. I know not for preparred food but for bottled water and soda and crustables and stuff like that. I am hoping and praying for free dining and hope some one can tell me where to find it. Thanx for you help

Currently the free dining plan promotion is for Disney Visa holders only. Rumor has it that it will be released to the general public on Monday May 3rd.

The QSDP is what is being offered for the value resorts. You can upgrade to the other dining plans for a fee.

Not sure if this will help you since you need to be checked in on or before Oct 2nd.

Here is the offer that is being sent to Disney Visa holders -

Walt Disney Parks & Resorts announced a Special Offer Magic Your
Way Package plus Dining Package for Disney Reward Visa Card holders
to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Thanks! Some one told me about free dining in another place on this forum. I am going after oct 2 but will see if I can go in sept cuz I didn't book plane tix yet. Free dining would be awsome and save some $$$ for us. What is QSDP?

It is my understand that you cannot use your state benifits outside of your home state.

QSDP is the quick service dining plan

I go to WDW with my daughter (adult) and 2 grandsons, 2 and 4. The QS plan=Quick Service. On the QS plan you get 2 QS (counter service meals) for each guest that is three, or older per day. You also get two snacks for every person in your group, three or above and a refillable mug each, for every person three or above.

The QS meals for adults (10 and up at Disney), are fantastic and range from burgers to chicken/rib combo meals. On the dining thread there are a lot of threads devoted to the QS plan, best bets, places without specific childrens meals, etc.

This plan is great, if you want to skip paying tips (18% is average at Disney for a Table Service (TS) meal). Also good for not having to corral 4 children at a TS dining location by yourself ;))

The QS refillable mug is only refillable at your resort. There is a variety of beverages, soda, diet soda, tea, coffee and hot cocoa. We use it every morning and every evening as well as a LOT when we are by the pool!!

This info barely scratches the surface and you can learn A LOT on the dining threads/restaurant board!!

Have a wonderfully magic trip, filled with a lot of great memories!!!!:goodvibes:wizard:

Um, so you are saying that you are on Food Stamp assistance, and you are going to Disney and spending at LEAST $2000 and more likely $4000? On a vacation? That you are taking a vacation that your youngest will not remember? You are commiting fraud by spending money on a VACATION that you should have spent on food instead of the government paying for your food while you saved up for a trip? Is that all correct information that I am reading in your post?

No, Disney does NOT take food stamps as payment. They take cash and credit cards. Period. Because people that go to Disney need to be paying their own way for their vacation and not the government.

Good luck to you MommyMouse24, hope you and your family have a great holiday. :)

Lots of people with really low post counts here...

Does that mean I can't voice my opinion that this woman, the OP, is commiting Food Stamp fraud? She should get on a budget, get her finances worked out, put all the "Disney" money to any debt she has, get an Emergency fund built up, (somewhere in there she has gotten rid of enough debt to get off Food stamps), then save up for a vacation to Disney.

Debt free, money in the bank, and paying cash for a vacation for your family, that are now old enough to actually remember and KNOW the sacrifices their mother made to pay for that trip to Disney. That is Priceless and Magical. :wizard:

Well, I don't care who uses credit cards at Disney. But I do care about food stamp users. They are taking money from all of us supposedly because they are in need. Disney is great, but it's not the only way to have a great vacation with your kids. You can go camping, and honestly with kids that young, probably have a better time.:)

There are a LOT of single parents who have no debt, work and qualify for help with food stamps and or medical care. They should NEVER go on a vacation as they get food stamp assistance? We don't know her situation, debts, working situation. Awfully quick judgments here!

Who said they should never go on a vacation? Don't change somebody else's words.

I said there are other ways to take a vacation. I've been to Disney several times, and I know how expensive it is, even on a budget.

How you spend your own money is definitely your own business. How you spend everyone else's money is everyone else's business.

If she truly is responsible, she would get off of food stamps before she takes a luxury vacation.

I agree. A lot of judgements without all the facts. I know several moms who are raising kids on their own. They did not ask to be single parents but by fate they are. So they should never go to Disney because my tax dollars are helping their kids eat every day? That is crazy. They work as hard or harder than I do,but dont make enough $$ to survive without assistance. I would want them to have some good experiences with their kids too.

Are you so Disney-brainwashed that you think that's the only way to have good experiences with kids.

Food stamps are supposed to supplement a food budget of those in POVERTY. Poverty does not take you to Disney. If you have enough pride to get yourself out of poverty, it seems to me that "stop taking food stamps" should be on the list before "Disney".

No wonder this country is going broke; people can justify sending everybody to Florida.

I can assure you that I am far from brainwashed. I also am smart enough to know that not all cases are equal. I dont know about the OP's situation anymore than anyone else here does. And no one is saying that "everybody" should go to Florida and I can also look at this country and see lots of reasons why it is going broke.

OP- I hope you find the answers that you are looking for. Only you can make the decisions that is right for you and your children. Unfortunately you offered up too much info , so now people will judge you without facts. Enjoy your trip.

Sorry, folks...but Austin_Rhea is exactly right. Being a single mom or whatever doesn't give ANYONE an excuse to act irresponsibly. If the OP has been saving money and selling stuff then she should have been using the money for her family.

It's disgraceful that you people are encouraging welfare fraud and irresponsible behavior. I'm disabled and my husband works hard to provide for our family but there's no way we can afford a Disney vacation anytime soon. It makes me angry to hear that someone who's collecting welfare is even considering an expensive trip to Disney.

And another new member!! Wow! I know my post count isn't that high but.........................................
