We're about to embark on our 1st July trip. We've never taken advantage of the many interactive fountains, misters, etc. in the parks because it was either too cool, or I didn't want the kids to get wet and walk around in wet clothes and then freeze when we went into an A/C restaurant or ride.

What do you all do? I really don't like the idea of taking extra clothes to change into, because we're sure to get hot again in a couple of hours and get wet all over again.

Tips or ideas?

I personally think that walking around in wet clothing bothers adults more than kids. I know that being wet has never bothered my DS and in the Florida heat they do dry off very quickly.

One thing I've done is buy a few pairs of shorts and tees that are made to dry quickly when they do get wet. If I know we're going somewhere where there may be water involved then we wear those. LL Bean carries some as do most sporting stores. Heck, nothing wrong with dressing the kids in bathing suits too :)

Also get some sport sandals for the kids that can be worn on dry land and in the water. They'll offer more support than your typical water shoes so the kids will be comfy all day and they won't get ruined or out of shape if they get wet. For myselff I pack a pair of cheap flip-flops and change into them if I'm riding a wet ride. They don't take up much space, are lightweight and serve a purpose.

:)
Have fun!

Hubby and I just returned from WDW 6/3-6/7 and it was HOT. In fact so hot that we no sooner walked out of the mister we were already drying! I don't have kids so they may get a bit more wet then adults (as they will play in them i'm sure!) but generally speaking - I didn't ever get soaked - I wish I HAD! And I kept going back into them - nearly swam in a fountain at one point I was so warm!

I'm from the Northeast and it gets hot, but I wasn't prepared for that Florida heat. WOW! So I say don't be too concerned, with that sun, i don't think they will have soaked clothes for too long. Going right into air conditioning would be a problem, but otherwise, let them and you ENJOY!
