My family and I have a reservation at OKW for the beginning of October, we were hoping to stay at the Beach Club or Boardwalk (using DVC points) but those were booked solid due to the start of the Food & Wine Festival. We are on the waitlist for them, but my question to you all is this. With the new waitlist policy that Disney has implemented, do you think we would be better off just sticking with our OKW reservation and enjoying the peace and quiet of the pools there or do we see if we can get bumped to the Beach Club or Boardwalk and enjoy the location and easy access to Epcot and MGM but have to put up with a more crowded resort and full pools? We have not stayed at OKW, Beach Club or Boardwalk before, but they all have their pros and cons.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hey jinx,
Post this over on the dvc forum. Most folks here don't deal with waitlist and points. IMO I'd probably stick with my okw ressies but you'll get more opinions about the new dvc waitlist procedure on the dvc forum.

I'd stay with the OKW ressie. Like you said with the F&W Festival starting up the chances of you getting into BW or BC are pretty slim. It could happen but I wouldn't want to risk losing out on the OKW ressie. OKW is a beautiful resort and has a very laid back feel to it, plus its location is almost in the middle of all of the parks (minus DAK). And the rooms are bigger. :)

Enjoy!

Personally I would stay at OKW if I was in a 1 or 2 BR unit...they are much larger at OKW and IMHO the larger units are much preferable at OKW.
If you are in a studio the call is a little tougher...personally I like the studios at BWV/BCV better just because they have a seating area with a couch and OKW is more like a regular hotel room with 2 queen beds. If you need 2 beds (vs the 1 bed plus a sofa bed) then OKW is the obvious choice. If you will just be using the room to sleep then it doesn't make much difference. If you will be spending some of your waking hours in the room then I would go for BWV/BCV.

You will not be disappointed at any of the resorts you chose. The other advantage to OKW is that it uses fewer points per night, so depending on the length of your stay you may save a fair amount of $$ by staying there.
