Ok...made our dining reservations for June. If you guys could check them out and let me know what you think...I would appreciate it. I am going with my parents (who are turning 60) and my 4 year old daughter.

Boma is a MUST for us! We love it!

Let me know what you think and if you would change anything! I value all of your words of wisdom!

June 26 Boma (Dinner)
June 27 1900 Park Fare (Dinner)
June 28 Hollywood / Vine (Lunch for 2)
June 28 Biergarden (Dinner for 2)
June 29 Chef Mickey’s (Breakfast)
June 30 Tusker House (Lunch)
July 1 Crystal Palace (Breakfast)

June 26 Boma (Dinner) - Keep!!!
June 27 1900 Park Fare (Dinner) - Keep only if you really want it.
June 28 Hollywood / Vine (Lunch for 2) - Keep only if you really want it.
June 28 Biergarden (Dinner for 2) - Keep.
June 29 Chef Mickey’s (Breakfast) - Keep only if you really want it.
June 30 Tusker House (Lunch) - Never tried.
July 1 Crystal Palace (Breakfast) - Keep only if you really want it.

Regarding the two breakfasts, I don't like to waste money on breakfast at Table Services. Granted, I'm always going under the DDP, so that influences my decisions.

You seem to really enjoy buffets, and if you have made all your reservations based on eating at buffets, then I'd say you're going to miss out on some of the best restaurants in Disney. For example, 1900 Park Fare was okay when I dined there, but I would recommend eating at The Wave or Ohana.

Which resort are you staying at?

Thanks for your tips!

We are staying @ POP.

I guess we DID book all buffets this time!!!! I didn't realize that until you pointed it out! :)

We *have* to do Hollywood and Vine (I totally do NOT want to) b/c my DD4 wants to eat with the Little Einsteins. They are still there, right? I've been there before and thought it was so-so. If I can get out of it w/out disappointing my daughter greatly, I would!!!

We chose Chef Mickey's b/c that way she will get to see Mickey and the gang without having to go all over creation looking for them @ the park and waiting in lines then. And we ate @ Chef Mickey's for dinner last time---and thought it was just ok. We heard breakfast is better.

We've never tried Tusker House either...but I am vegetarian and thought it would be good to try! :)

The other ressies are not set in stone though (besides Boma---we just love it).

What other places would you suggest??? We have eaten @ Kona and really enjoyed it...as well as Mama Melrose's (just ok), Whispering Canyon (fun atmosphere---so so food) last time...

What are your favorites?

I think you've got a lot of buffet type restaurants. We did several buffets in one trip a few years back, maninly for the characters. It got old quick, it seemed like the same food over and over.

We hated Hollywood and Vine - I would cancel that and book another DHS restaurant. We really liked both Sci-Fi and 50's PTC but if you were willing to cancel one of the breakfasts (or pay OOP for the breakfast) I would go with Hollywood Brown Derby - 2 ts but really nice!

tndisneyfan--any other suggestions? I totally did not realize we had ALL buffets until the other poster mentioned it! :)

DisneyMomx7---I know! Hollywood and Vine was definitely not a plus on my list! DD just loves the Little Einsteins! I just don't know if I should cancel or not! My parents (who are vacationing with us) are not going! They are going to Biergarten instead! :)

I think I may be in the minority, but I didn't care for 1900 Park Fare that much. The food wasn't bad, but it seemed overcrowded, noisy, and I found the character rotation to be slow. I think a great alternative might be Asherkus in the Norway Pavillion in Epcot. The food there, in my opinion, is better and you get to see lots of princesses! Cinderella is not guaranteed to be there (I'm not sure if you were looking for her specifically) as the princesses rotate. The last time we were there we saw Alice (even though she's not really a princess), Jasmine, Snow White, and Belle. You also get a free picture included with your meal.

I think you will enjoy 1900 PF dinner - the characters and interaction are very different than other character meals. Tusker House only has characters for breakfast, not sure iif that was a must for you, but the food is very good at that buffet. To substitute a family style meal as opposed to a buffet, I'd recommend Ohana - characters at breakfast, but not at dinner - food it great both meals!

Are the little Einstein characters still available for a charactger meet and greet? If so I would switch - Biergarten is great fun for the kids, or if you are going to be at DHS my kids just love Sci-Fi!

If not I guess you'll have to stick with H&V. Believe me I sympathize. When dd was younger and Norway had just switched to a Princess afair - we had to eat lunch there on the 4th of July just so she could see Ariel with legs!

It wasn't DH's idea of a great 4th of July lunch, but what you do for your kids!
