Keep Knowing & Keep Kicking, Kiddo – A 2015 Princess 5K PTR/Mini-TR ~ Completed 5/1

Just wanted you to know I am following your PTR excitement here!!
Hi! :welcome:

So happy this trip is working out for you! I do think late winter/early spring trips make getting through these brutal winters sooo much easier.
Thanks! Definitely agree - it'll be nice to get away from this NY winter for a few days (although winter is much milder this year than it was last year ... I still don't like going out in 30 degree weather just to get my Starbucks).

I'm glad your sister is able to come with you again. You will have an amazing time together.
I'm really happy she's coming - it just wouldn't be the same without her!

Smart plan in taking a later flight. With the early morning wake up call for the race the next day I am sure your body will be happy to not have rushed around the day before.
The race was definitely the big motivator in taking the later flight. I hate the idea of "losing" a park day, but I do not want to get up super early two days in a row ... getting up really early every day killed us in November.

I hope your World of Disney shopping is better this time around. I bet it will be. First night activities are always the best....having that feeling of the trip just starting is like no other.
I'm definitely looking forward to shopping when I'm not exhausted from a long day of park time. It's hard to shop late at night when we're exhausted, so this should be a nice change of pace.

You are doing great with your training. I really admire you for going out and pushing yourself even in less that ideal conditions. Outdoor cold weather running is so difficult. I can't wait to hear how this whole experience is for you. I have been trying to get to a rundisney event for the last few years. I was ready to register for the princess half and at the last minute the group I was going with fell apart. I was pretty upset. I was planning to do TOT in 2015 (and I liked the idea of 10 miles vs. 13.1) but now that isn't being offered I am debating the Wine and Dine. Maybe I'll see you there! ;)
Thanks! I've been doing really well going out in the cold so far ... having cold-weather gear has helped a lot. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's run because it will be my coldest in a few weeks, but it's the only chance I'll get for a second run this week (I won't have time later in the week).
I am really excited that my first official race in 20 years or so will be a runDisney event. I'm really hoping to do a lot more in the future ... it's just really hard for me to travel over the weekend. With my current budget concerns, this will probably be my only race for a while, but I really am hoping that things change for me and I can do more races in the future. Maybe I will run into you at a future race!

Great FP choices so far. I need to make ours for Feb. since we are 36 days out! I've been delaying the expense of getting APs for Aaron and Lucy (mine is still good for this trip). My hope is to make our choices before the off-siters can at 30 days out.
36 days is plenty of time ... you can plan a whole trip in that time (well, 39 days, but close enough). You're going at a relatively slow time, so hopefully you'll still be able to get some good FP choices!

Are you making any ADR's? I know you had a mixed experience with this.
As of right now we have 2 ADRs scheduled, but we may cancel one or both ... we're booking anything we could possibly want now and delaying the decision until early February.
We're trying for another BOG because we loved it so much, but so far no luck :(

Okay, so this has nothing to do with your plans, Sarah, but I just have to share this funny story...

I had a dream about you last night! You got me to go to some Hebrew school with you (even though I have no idea what Hebrew school is like). Everybody was really nice, and I kept apologizing for eating bacon.

Then I was trying to get everybody to go to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights with me (even though I don't even like Halloween Horror Nights), but I was having trouble getting everybody organized and rounded up.

At one point somebody asked me to teach them to bartend and I agreed to (even though I've never bartended in my life).

Then one of the guys in the school tried to make out with me, but I was unimpressed and told him to go away. So he stole my jacket, and in the pocket was my car keys, so then he drove off with my car, which was actually my mom's car, which was a really nice SUV (even though my mom drives a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo). He managed to get rear-ended, but miraculously there was no damage to the car, he gave me back my keys, and all was forgiven.

So then we all got on our computers and you all introduced me to a Percy Jackson & the Olympians MMO, which blew my mind and I declared I was never ever logging off.

Then I woke up. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I'm dying right now. Dying. Like, I'm trying very hard not to actually start cracking up out loud because everyone at Starbucks will start giving me dirty looks (although I think taking up one of the coveted tables when I finished my coffee 20 minutes ago is enough reason for people to give me dirty looks). That's a hysterical dream.
And I have no idea what Hebrew school is like either ... I went to a Jewish day school, which is like regular school but a few extra hours and we learned Jewish subjects in addition to regular subjects (elementary school was Jewish subjects in the morning, secular subjects in the afternoon, but in high school it was more mixed). So I don't know if you have to apologize for eating bacon at Hebrew school.

I think the school in my dream was more like your Jewish day school combined with a boarding school. But they called it Hebrew school. Because clearly, my sleeping subconscious brain has no freakin' clue. :lmao:

See the Running Journal Here!

Rather than a short comment on the run like I normally do, here are the highlights of my race-related dream from last night:

1 - My whole family was involved in the race (which was weird, because some of them are very against me doing the race) - only my sister and I were actually doing the race, but my family was in charge of it
2 - I was in the last corral - called the "Jumbo" corral (after Mrs. Jumbo, although it might have been supposed to be Jambo because the corral next to it was Kidani)
3 - They were moving people along lines in small groups, and my sister and I were separated. I told them that I wanted to go with her and start with her, but they said no.
4 - I forgot my water bottle ... so I had to call my mom and ask her to bring it to me

Those were the highlights ... or at least what I wrote down when I woke up an hour before my alarm. I know these probably make little sense, but the dream itself didn't make much sense either.

Having race-related dreams is probably not a good thing, because it means I'm nervous. Hopefully this will pass as the race gets closer.

I'm hoping to get back to posting plans soon ... hopefully either Friday or Saturday. I just want to finish my November TR first.

Day 3 – Saturday, February 21, 2015

Saturday morning is still Shabbos, so no park for us until after Shabbos ends (we can’t take the bus or use our MBs to get into the park … so that’s non-negotiable). We’ll sleep in later than usual, probably setting an alarm for 10:30 or 11 (I may get up before the alarm, which has been happening to me a lot when I set a later alarm, so I’ll just sit somewhere and read). We’ll get up, say our morning prayers, hang out for a bit if it’s not quite time for lunch, and then eat lunch around 12-12:30ish. Lunch will be whatever we bring from home (and/or cold leftovers from Friday night dinner).
My current plan is to DisneyBound as Mickey Mouse – red skirt, white shirt, black sweater, black flats, and yellow scarf. It’ll hopefully be a good match for this outfit:
Mickey.jpg

Once lunch is over, it’s time for our Shabbos afternoon nap, which is actually the greatest part of my week. I love my Shabbos afternoon nap. I don’t know how people can get through the week without a Shabbos afternoon nap. But anyway …
We’ll have an alarm wake us up probably around 4:30-5ish and then go out for a walk. I’ll be wearing whatever MagicBand matches my outfit (probably Beth’s red one). We’ll walk around the hotel and hopefully see (but not photograph – no pictures on Shabbos) some cool things like …
Disney-All-Star-Sports-13.jpg

Shabbos ends just after 7, so we’ll go back to the room then, say the evening prayer and prayer to end Shabbos, and then get dressed and ready for park time.

We’ll try to get as much of our Saturday night stuff ready before Shabbos as we can so that we can run out of the room shortly after Shabbos ends. Hopefully before 8 PM we’ll be walking through the gates towards a beautiful sight…
Day2106.jpg

Our first FP+ is for 8:15 PM – 9:15 PM and is for our new favorite ride at MK…
7DMT.jpg

Next FP+ (9:15 PM – 10:15 PM) is a ride that we had to wait FOREVER for in November …
Day282.jpg

We want to see the new queue, so we may also do it when we go back to MK on Monday, but we’ll see.

Last FP+ of the night (10:15 PM – 11:15 PM) is for another favorite ride…
BigThunder2.jpg

We want to try to hit this early in the window so that we can stake out a spot for my favorite Disney parade, which we actually missed in November (and skipped in 2013 (and regretted it almost instantly), so we haven’t seen it since 2011)…
189657_535785968987_3959604_n.jpg

Between FP+ windows and after the parade we’ll just hit up whatever rides are nearby and have shorter lines. We’re really going to play this trip by ear and go where the lines and waits take us – not really going to micromanage this one like I did last trip. We’re hoping that because it’s so late at night (and a few thousand people have to wake up early for a half marathon the next day) we’ll have short lines, even though it’s not a recommended park according to the crowd calendars I’ve consulted.

Since we’ll be well rested from our naps (and may have the option of getting Starbucks once we get to the park anyway), we’ll have no problem staying at the park past closing (I’d actually love to get in a long line right before closing and be on a ride after closing – I don’t know how that works, because I’ve never tried it, but we’ll see). Once we’re done, it’s back to the hotel, fill up our water bottles if the food court is still open (if it’s not, we’ll fill them up in the morning), and then sleep.

Your first few days plans look great! 4 AM departure for the race?!? Wow, adrenaline needed for that one!

I think your Disneybounding outfits sound like such fun. There is certainly quite a family resemblance between you and your sister.

You seem to have some food plans that will really keep your costs down too. Can you really make it on just a bagel for dinner? I'm not sure about all of your diet restrictions, but could you add an apple or something?

If I had to guess, I would think that the late evening crowds at MK will be pretty light. Sounds like a really fun night!

Thanks! That's definitely going to be a hard wake up, but we'll go to bed early and make it work. The fact that we'll get to sleep early that night and will sleep in the next day helps a lot.

Thanks! We did DisneyBounds pretty much every day last trip, but I don't think we will this trip - just a few for each of us.
Everyone says we look alike, we don't really see it.

I'm a light eater, so a bagel with cream cheese or tuna is a decent meal for me, but adding a fruit is probably not a bad idea ... I can definitely buy an apple or banana or something at the food court and then if I'm not hungry enough to eat it, I'll save it for a different day. Thanks for the suggestion!

If I had to guess, I would think that the late evening crowds at MK will be pretty light. Sounds like a really fun night!
I'm hoping that you're right about the crowds. There are extra magic hours that morning, which means it'll be crowded early, but I think most of those people will probably be gone by the time we get there. I think I'm actually most excited about that night, because I don't think I've ever been in the park past midnight!

Plans for Day 4 – Sunday, February 22, 2015

Day 4 park is …
EP2011PP.jpg

We may not get there first thing in the morning, but we do plan to spend the whole day there. Epcot has always been our arrival day park, so this is a big deal for us. Interesting fact: This will be our first full day at Epcot in almost 15 years (our last full day at Epcot was February 23, 2000 – so really, almost exactly 15 years). I actually think it’s really special that we’re going in February 2015, almost exactly 15 years after our family Disney trip (aka our first time at Disney).

Our first FP+ is for shortly after we arrive (9:40 AM – 10:40 AM) at the big giant golf ball…
Day110.jpg

Next up we meet some of our favorite characters (FP+ for 10:50 AM – 11:50 AM) …
Day135.jpg

Day138.jpg

This was my not-quite-successful Goofy DisneyBound

Day140.jpg

After that we’ll probably head over into World Showcase. We usually don’t get to World Showcase until pretty late in the day, so we really want to take the opportunity to walk around, see the sights, and meet all the characters.

Our last FP+ isn’t until 6:00 PM – 7:00PM, and it’s for this guy (which we may also ride earlier standby/single rider if the line isn’t too bad):
TestTrack.jpg

After that is Beth's first every ADR request, at 8:10 PM, at …
Coral-Reef-Signage.jpg

I think now is as good a time as any to explain our eating at Disney. Beth and I are strictly Kosher-observant. Kosher is an incredibly complex thing to explain, so I’m just going to give a basic overview of how it affects our meals at Disney (this only applies to meals – snacks is a slightly different story). Basically, we won’t eat anything that is not cooked in a kosher-supervised kitchen. There is no kosher-supervised kitchen at Disney. However, they do bring in frozen meals from an outside vendor, which can be safely reheated in the Disney kitchens, as long as they are double-wrapped the whole time (see my November TR for pictures).
There is one Quick Service location at each park (2 at Epcot) that has Kosher meals available “on demand” (this also is the case for several resort food courts, including All-Star Sports). Disney can also provide kosher food for most Table Service meals with 24-48 hour notice. For both QS and TS meals there are a limited number of options (4-5 for each, depending on the place – and breakfast only has 2 options, but we’ll get to that). For our first several Disney trips, we only had Quick Service kosher meals. Last trip we made several ADRs and had the opportunity to try a variety of the kosher options available for table service meals. We actually prefer the Quick Service kosher food. Which is why we don’t really want to make many ADRs – we don’t need to have the same not so good food multiple times, once is enough. We just have to find the right ADR.

Anyway … back to plans.
We may stay for Illuminations but might not. We’ll see how the day is going. If we feel like it, after we leave Epcot, we’ll head back to Downtown Disney. If we decide not to keep the Coral Reef ADR (or switch it to a lunch, which is something I was thinking about), we’ll probably end up doing Ghirardelli for dinner. We may do more shopping, and then we'll head back to the room and hit the sack.

See the Running Journal Here!

Notes on today's run (and today in general):

1 - I realized while I was out today that I haven't posted a picture of my new water bottle. So here it is:
IMG_20150105_133755304.jpg

It's 32 oz, a little awkward to hold (but I figured out a way), and the straw keeps falling out when I'm running. But mostly I love it, and while I do miss my old one, this is an okay substitute.

2 - Not my best run, but something is better than nothing, right?

3 - Final payment on the trip was due today ... so, yay, the trip is paid off!
Rex-Cheering-Toy-Story-2-GIF.gif

(I may have ninjaed that from Oh My Disney)

Of course, that excitement only lasts until I have to pay the credit card bill (which is before the trip ... I was hoping it wouldn't be, but that's how the credit card due date falls out).

4 - I decided that if I get a job before the trip (and it's still available), I'm buying Beth the commemerative pin. Of course, at this moment, that looks like a big if. But who knows, that could change (I certainly hope it does!)

So that's today's run & summary. Posting of daily plans should continue either later today or tomorrow, depending on how long the rest of today's to-do list takes me.

Even though this is on my to-do list for tomorrow, I'm posting today because I'm in front of the computer anyway. Tomorrow I get to study the weather and decide whether I want to do my next run Wednesday (28, windy), Thursday (24, sunny), or Friday (back in the 30's, but not so much time). Fun stuff, right? Anyway, back to the plans ...

Plans for Day 5 – Monday, February 23, 2015

Monday we’re back here:
Day21.jpg

Well, we’re actually scheduled to start our day here …
Disney%E2%80%99s-Crystal-Palace.jpeg

We’ve got a pre-park 8:40 AM Breakfast ADR. Not sure if we’re going to keep it, we’ll decide a few weeks before the trip.

Major advantages:
emptyMK.jpeg

We really want empty MK castle pictures!

Also:
198924_535790180547_580763_n.jpg

189776_535789791327_4743180_n.jpg

Since I believe you can no longer see Eeyore and Piglet anywhere but CP … this would be really cool.

Major disadvantage is the Kosher breakfast food, which is not particularly good (it made Beth sick last trip and neither one of us finished our food). There were only two options, both of which had cheese (and Beth can’t really eat cheese, although she told me that she was recently able to have some cheese and she was ok), and neither of which was enjoyed by us last year. I really don’t want that breakfast food again, but we have n other breakfast options (which is why we usually just bring cereal from home – but we can’t really get cereal at the breakfast buffets because we can’t use the dishes/silverware). It’s a tough decision, which is why I’m delaying making it.

This is a day when we’re going to try for many FP+, so we’ve got our first 3 scheduled early. We scheduled the harder to get ones (mostly), and we’ll change them day-of if we decide we want something else.

Here’s what we’ve got:
FP+ #1 – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM…
Day248.jpg

Day254.jpg

FP+ #2 – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM … More Princesses:
Day295.jpg

Day298.jpg

(This is one that I’d be very willing to change … not that I don’t love Anna, but I’d be willing to skip them, especially if we see them at the race)

FP+3 – 1:10 PM – 2:10 PM … back to something we did on Saturday night (but we do want to do again - we will do this as many times as we can):
Day2101NEW.jpg

(My camera takes terrible night pictures)

Once we finish those we’ll try for a 4th FP+, see what we can get. Last trip we got a nighttime POTC (which is a tradition for a different time), but we may be able to get more than 1 if we’re starting early in the day.

I want to be at park until closing to see Wishes (we saw bits and pieces last year because we had an ADR), but we shall see. This is our last park day, and I think it will be really nice to have our last park be Magic Kingdom (it never works out that way, so it’ll be cool).

Assuming we’re out of the park by 9:30ish (possible, but certainly not definite, especially if we’re staying for Wishes), I would like to catch the Electric Water Pageant, which we had discussed seeing on our last trip but decided against in the end. We could monorail over to the Contemporary and watch it from there, and then monorail all the way around back to MK to catch a bus back to the hotel.

We have never had breakfast at Crystal Palace, but we usually have lunch there. The characters are the same, but we don't get the empty Main Street. Having a pre-park opening ADR is great, but not if you don't like the food.

I love that two of your FP+ are for characters. My girls keep telling me that you outgrow princesses when you move to 2nd grade. :eyeroll:

I have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:15 on Monday so maybe I'll run into you. But I understand if you skip it.

I am very glad I have a treadmill in my basement. It's currently 10 degrees here and will be for the next 72hours!

I know you'll love Crystal Palace!! First, you can't have any better Castle pictures than when it's empty! Best pictures ever! The food, I thought, was excellent and although Winnie the Pooh is not one of my favorites, it's still fun to play with them! :goodvibes

We have never had breakfast at Crystal Palace, but we usually have lunch there. The characters are the same, but we don't get the empty Main Street. Having a pre-park opening ADR is great, but not if you don't like the food.

I've heard a lot of good things about the characters, and I love the idea of a pre-park ADR, but I'm really not sure. We'll make the decision in a few weeks.

I love that two of your FP+ are for characters. My girls keep telling me that you outgrow princesses when you move to 2nd grade. :eyeroll:

One of my goals for this trip is to try to see 10 of the 11 official princesses (we won't see Pocahontas because we're not going to AK, and Anna and Elsa aren't officially princesses, so they would be extra). You can never outgrow princesses! If you outgrew princesses when you move to 2nd grade, I never would have loved Pocahontas (if I remember correctly that came out the summer after 2nd grade). So your girls are wrong, and they'll see that when they get older.

And we love using FP+ for characters! Sometimes we're more willing to wait on a long line for rides than we are for characters, so it definitely helps to have a FP+ to make the wait shorter.

I have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:15 on Monday so maybe I'll run into you. But I understand if you skip it.

Maybe if we keep it I'll see you there! I love the idea of a pre-park ADR, just not sure if it will work for us.

I am very glad I have a treadmill in my basement. It's currently 10 degrees here and will be for the next 72hours!

I have a treadmill too, but I prefer to run outside because I find that it's very different for me and outside is closer to "race conditions." We've got a little bit of snow on the ground now, though, so if it doesn't melt (or if it gets any colder), I'll probably end up on the treadmill.

I know you'll love Crystal Palace!! First, you can't have any better Castle pictures than when it's empty! Best pictures ever! The food, I thought, was excellent and although Winnie the Pooh is not one of my favorites, it's still fun to play with them! :goodvibes

The empty castle pictures are really a big selling point for us. We have to get special food, so even if the regular food is good, doesn't help us ... it just makes me more jealous that I can't get food off the buffet.
I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh fan, so that's another selling point for me, and I've heard great things about the characters at Crystal Palace.

Hopefully I'll have the final day's plans soon ... I'm headed to Starbucks with the laptop in a few, so maybe I'll post them from there.

Plan for Day 6 – Tuesday, February 24th, 2015

Day 6 is departure day :(. The last two trips (and our last DL trip, too) we left early AM, so we woke up and went straight to catch our DME bus at some obscenely early hour of the morning. This year we’re not leaving until 4:30ish, so we actually have a departure day morning. No park, though.

Even though we don’t leave until the afternoon, I do have a plan for the morning, so I want to try to check out, drop our bags at resort airline check-in, dump our carry-ons at luggage assistance, and get out relatively early.

If we can get there before opening (or shortly after opening), I think we have time for some fun at
1400647605602

My sister is a big mini-golf fan (me not as much, but I do it), so I really want to take some time to get a game in. I don’t think it will take more than 2 hours (I think it will take less, although longer than a mini-golf game at home because we’ll be taking tons of pictures), so if we can get there by 10:15 AM, we should have plenty of time for a round of mini-golf before we have to get back for our DME pickup. Especially because we get vouchers for a free game with our package. I think that if we seem to be running out of time, we can stop the game early (not finish all 18 holes) and leave, but I think we can get the game in with a little time to spare.

Plus, it looks like a really cool course:
disney-s-fantasia-gardens.jpg

Not at Disney, but here are some mini-golf pictures:
Beth’s Birthday, Summer 2013: (you'll notice Beth wearing flats, not sneakers ... weirdo)
BethMiniGolf.jpg

Family Mini-Golf Trip, Summer 2014: (There are no pictures of me actually golfing because I tend to be the one who takes those pictures)
SarahMiniGolf.jpg

If we decide that we don’t have time (or energy) for mini-golf, we’ll spend some time playing air hockey at …
all_star_sports_amenities.jpg

Time permitting, we’ll also explore the hotel (and neighboring hotels) more and actually take some pictures this time.

Once we’re done with our morning activity, we’ll get our bags, possibly make some lunch, and get ready for our DME pickup.

Our flight leaves at 4:30ish, and we land in NY around 7. Beth will probably go straight back to her apartment, and I’ll either take a cab back to the house or get picked up (in which case Beth will probably get a ride to her apartment, but that’s a different story entirely).

And then our Disney trip will be over, with no plans to return to Florida until March 2017 :(.

So that's the end of the daily plans. Stay tuned for continued plans, including ADRs, DisneyBounds (I said I wouldn't do it every day, but apparently I'm crazy), changes, and anything else that might happen. We still have 43 days until the trip, and you never know what could happen between now and then!

Love all your planned princess meets! I booked us a FP for Rapunzel which I am super excited about. I think she is one of the few "regular" characters that we haven't met. Yay, princesses!!

Olivia and I had breakfast at CP in May and we LOVED it. The characters were by far the best at any meal we have done in recent memory. Piglet was actually a bit flirty with us. Not in a creepy way at all. It was very sweet. They also do a character parade around the restaurant and just because we weren't 5 didn't stop us from joining in. Such fun! Unfortunately it wasn't a pre-open (actually it was on the 24 hour day!) but I have it booked for pre-open for us in June. I can't wait and will be sad to be skipping it again this trip in Feb. My vote is keep it (if you couldn't tell).

I hope you get to mini-golf. Especially if you have free vouchers! But you can't go wrong with some bonus time exploring the resort either.

We met Rapunzel for the first time in November and loved her! Hopefully you guys will love her too - she really was a lot of fun when we met her.

Really? Keep it? I thought from the beginning of the paragraph that you hated it! (kidding)
I really like the idea of it. If we could get food off the buffet, it would be a no-brainer, but ... the food makes it complicated. I also really want to do Coral Reef because we love aquariums ... I actually might end up doing both. We'll see.
But thanks for your input - the more opinions and info I have, the easier it is for me to make a decision (or at least a pro-con list, which in my world is the precursor to a decision).

I hope you get to mini-golf. Especially if you have free vouchers! But you can't go wrong with some bonus time exploring the resort either.
I really want to try to make it, but I'm not entirely sure how long it will take to get there, and we have to check out first ... I'm hoping we can make it, but if we don't, we'll just have to save it for a different trip.

Treadmill Walk/Run – 1/9/2015

The weather (snow) stopped me from running outside today, but I still got in a walk/run on the treadmill.

Overall Stats: (Includes short warm up and cool down)
Total Time – 53:30 minutes
Total Distance – 3.89 miles
Intervals – 0:30 walk/4:30 run (x9 – total 45 minutes)

I’ve been thinking a lot about the weather over the past few days. Yesterday was the 5K for Marathon weekend (which was my first choice of race), and race weather was about 40° with a wind advisory having been issued the night before. I don’t want to run in those conditions (I do it at home, but in Florida I’d rather not). I do have two different temperature options for my running outfit, but they’re for 70° weather and 50° weather, nothing for super cold.

The other issue of weather is the trip in general. I always wear skirts/dresses, generally ones that sit either at or right below the knees. So when it’s cold out, by the end of the night my legs are freezing. The past two trips the weather has been warm and I didn’t need to worry about it. When we went to California in December 2012, I brought a few pairs of tights and put one in my bag every day, and then when it got cold out, I ran into the bathroom and put on my tights. I was thinking about doing that again this trip, but then I realized … I’m bringing my blue leggings anyway for my running outfit, so I can also put those on under my skirt to keep warm (assuming they’re not too gross from the run, which they shouldn’t be). I also have a pair of black fleece-lined leggings that are warmer than any of my tights. So I do have options other than tights.
We’ll also bring sweatshirts to wear at night, which we’ll just tie around our waists (probably).

An example of what I’ve done in the past: California 2012 … you can’t really see it because the picture is dark, but I’m wearing black tights.

Mini-golf on your last day sounds like a great idea especially since the tickets are already included.

I have never been to Florida in February, but we have had warm days in January and cool days in March, so I think bringing some tights or leggings is probably smart.

We wanted to do mini-golf last trip and just didn't have time, so I'm glad we're trying to fit it in this trip!

I've also done January and March and I remember being cold both times, so I definitely agree that tights or leggings are a good idea.

See the Running Journal Here!

My first time running outside in over a week, and all I have to say is ...
SO

COLD!
Seriously.

I had to cut the run short because I was having some severe pain in my side. Probably cramps, and I felt much better once I switched back to walking. I probably wasn't drinking enough water - I need to remember to have at least 2 cups of water before I go out on Thursday.

Once again, I set a speed record for my first mile (11:20). And then I fizzled out towards the middle. I know I need to be more consistent and not start off full steam, but I have a hard time actually doing it. So I made myself a little reminder:

I thought about printing it on a sticker and attaching it to my water bottle, but it would fade or get gross after a while, and then I would just be annoyed. So I need to figure out how I'm going to use it as a reminder.
(Yes, I know it should be a turtle. I didn't have the cute turtle on my computer (although I thought I did - I guess I never did that illustrator tutorial), I did have the cute snail, so I went cute snail over boring turtle).

I should have a post about my DisneyBound ideas coming within the next few days ... I wrote up most of it yesterday, but I want to throw some pictures in there to give y'all better ideas of where I'm going.
