I think you've convinced me to try a napoleon! It may sound impossible to believe, but I've never had one. Your photo is drool-worthy!

I can say that I tried that ghost cupcake, and it looks much better than it tasted.

Oh, I'm glad I didn't waste my money and calories on the ghost cupcake then. As far as the napoleon though, I say go for it!

All of those things look amazing! I keep drooling over Boardwalk Bakery since we'll be staying there in September Glad you enjoyed the napoleon, it looks great!

IMO, you can't stay at the Boardwalk without visiting the bakery. It's definitely a must-do for me!

We had the same hibatchi chef as you, she was great! It was our first time at Teppan Edo and we will definitely be back!!!

We've had that with a couple desserts where we've gotten them because our eyes were bigger than our stomachs or it was something we had to try, then it sat in our fridge. I expect this upcoming trip to be no different

On our next trip we will be in a 1 BDR villa, which means a full-size fridge to fill with goodies. Hopefully we will eat them all this time.

The Blue Zoo looks very good. I have never eaten there but we have stayed at the Dolphin. May have to look into it on a future trip.

Bluezoo has many fans who claim it's the place to go for seafood at Disney World...better than Flying Fish, Narcoossee's, etc. I've been there twice now and am not quite convinced. I'll probably give it another try sometime though.

Yes, I guess my fish will forever remain a mystery, but I still remember that deliciously, rich crabmeat sauce. Yum!

Maybe it's something about bluezoo?? Because I feel like it didn't stick out in my mind either. We went in 2012. I got the fish special with a sauce on the side as well and like you, I had no clue about the fish choices I was given, so I picked one and hoped for the best. I remember liking it but not remembering it well.

Yes, bluezoo remains an enigma for me. I've been there twice now and still haven't figured out if I like it or not.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ​

My husband and I didn't have much in the way of tricks today but we did have many treats, including having an early breakfast with Niki (Niki Andiokno) and her DH at the Dolphin's...








This was our first time at this restaurant, but I'd heard great things about it from Beth (Couchy).


All four of us chose the buffet so once our server came by to take our order for juice and coffee (which was Starbucks), we headed to the food...

In addition, our server offered and brought to our table a plateful of toast and a tray of butter and assorted jams/jellies...

Bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, cheese danish, and an omelet with ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, and asparagus


First, I again really appreciated being able to have a made-to-order omelet. FRESH had a few different omelet ingredients that weren't offered at either Boma or Crystal Palace, such as asparagus and spinach. It was also nice that their pancakes, french toast, and waffles were all made fresh to order instead of being made in large quantities and left sitting under a heat lamp. However, there were many more patrons at Crystal Palace or Tusker House, and Boma too was a busier place. Therefore, it is understandable that these other busier restaurants are unable to have the made-to-order options that FRESH offers. So if you are looking for a quieter breakfast buffet with the ability to have much of your food made fresh for you, then this would probably be a good choice. As for me, this was my 4th breakfast buffet in 4 days so, to be perfectly honest, this one did not "wow" me. Other than the omelet, none of the other food was unique or memorable. However, the great company made this meal a very enjoyable one. Would I return? Probably not on my own, but if I were staying in the Epcot resort area (which I almost always do) and were invited to join others for breakfast here then I'd be willing to give this one another go.

NOTE: Disney Dining Plan credits are not accepted at FRESH but they do offer a 20% discount to Tables in Wonderland members.​

I feel like I should give you a prize since you were the only one to comment on my Fresh review. Anyway, Fresh definitely has some positive things going for it. If it wasn't for the fact that it was my fourth breakfast buffet in a row, it might have appealed to me more. I'll have to give another try sometime.

Following our breakfast at Fresh, my husband and I headed off to Hollywood Studios...




Knowing that the hat would be gone by the time we next visit DHS, we said our fond farewells.


Then we used our first FP+ of the day to ride Toy Story Mania. To no one's surprise, he trounced me...as everyone does. I've been thoroughly beaten on TSM by everyone in my family, by Brenda's daughter Emmy, and by Beth (Couchy). In other words, by everyone I've ever ridden TSM with. It's not that I have poor aim (my accuracy rate is usually pretty high), it's that I suffer from trigger arm fatigue syndrome. Is that a thing? Anyway, if you ever need an ego boost, ride with me on Toy Story Mania.


We did a few other things and then before you know it was time to eat again!




I had made an ADR for the restaurant opening time (11:00 a.m.) because I wanted to give us as much time as possible between our lunch and dinner at the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic (which began at 5:30). We checked in a few minutes before 11:00 and they hadn't began seating guests yet, so we waited in the living room area next to the Tune-in Lounge.

As you can see, the bar was already pretty busy at 11:00 in the morning.



We were seated at a small two-top table and presented with this menu...

Our silverware and napkins were then brought and like good, obedient children we set our table. I ordered a soda here because this is one of the few places at Disney World where you can get a Vanilla Coke (Coca-Cola flavored with vanilla syrup)...





Having had a big breakfast and with plans for a big dinner at the Classic, we decided to skip the appetizers and order only one entree to share...



Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken served with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Gravy, and Collard Greens with Bacon

We each got a large chicken breast plus a good size portion of mashed potatoes & gravy and collard greens. This is definitely an entree that is easily shared!


So here is when I guiltily admit that I've gotten this entree just for myself on my last two visits to PTC...

However, both times I've left behind on my plate a large amount of food, including an entire chicken breast. Such a shame. And while I know that many adults order the child-size portion of the fried chicken here, I have found that this is dark meat and I'm a white meat only kind of girl when it comes to chicken.


But I digress, so let's get back to this particular meal. Just like the previous two times, I again loved the fried chicken and my husband enjoyed it as well. It seems that Aunt Liz really knows her stuff when it comes to chicken. I was surprised when looking at the menu description just now that the mashed potatoes were flavored with roasted garlic, as I don't recall tasting garlic. But that is probably a good thing because, though I'm a fan of garlic, my husband is not. So if he had detected a strong garlic flavor in the mashed potatoes he would have definitely commented. As for the collard greens, I've actually liked these in the past because they mostly tasted like bacon. However, this time they seemed void of any bacon flavor so neither of us liked them.


No dessert, but we did share a Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake with our meal...



...because ever since I first tasted this in March 2013, I haven't been able to go to PTC without having it. Again this is one milk shake that we shared, with it brought to the table already split into two glasses. So plenty big enough to share!

I remember the first time that we ordered this, I was hesitant because I'm not a big fan of pb & j. It's okay. I'll eat it on toast every now and then, but when it comes to milk shakes I generally have chocolate. However, my kids talked me into trying one to share and all three of us loved it. So much so that we fought over the last few drops.


Not much in the way of hijinks this time, with only a few scoldings received from our server. The last two times I've been to Prime Time I was with a large group of DISers and there was loads of hijinks going on...much of it precipitated by our group. Eating here again brought back memories of those fun times.

But overall it was still a nice lunch, with good food and great company. I'll be returning to Prime Time with my kids on our upcoming trip. Will I get the fried chicken for the 4th time in row? Or will I break free from that rut (though it's a delicious one) and try something else? Check out my next dining report to find out the answer.


Following our lunch we met up with Joh (wilma-bride) and her family to use our second FP+ and see the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show...




We had only seen this show once before and that was more than 8 years ago so it was pretty much brand new for us. I didn't remember it being so, ummm...fiery.



Though this type of show is not really my thing, we enjoyed watching it with Joh and her DH. Sadly, this was the last time that we saw them, since they flew home the following day. I can not say enough good things about how great this family is. They were so kind to adopt me into the "wilma-bride" family for two of their meals. Those two lunches were among my favorites of the trip. It was so great to finally meet Joh and her family and I sincerely hope that our paths cross again someday. Oh, and a special thanks to Daniel (Joh's son) for twice finishing up my food. It would have been a tragedy to leave behind any of my delicious Ooey Gooey dessert at Liberty Tree or steak at Teppan Edo.


So our Halloween day at Hollywood Studios was then nearly complete, except for one small trick which I played on my husband. I mean, what's Halloween without at least one trick to balance out all the treats? For our third and last FP+ I had scheduled for us to see the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration show...




However, I told my husband only that it was a new Disney musical show, one that we had never seen before. Since my husband is someone who complains every time we go to Disney World about having to go on the same old rides, see the same old shows, etc., he was all for seeing something new. And guess what? Much to my surprise, he actually enjoyed this show! And so did I, so much so that I've talked my kids into using one of our FP+ in order for me to see it again next trip. One more time, and then I'll probably be ready to "let it go".

We went to 50s Prime Time for the first time in January and I fell in love with it. We had a fantastic server and being there with my grandparents who said that it was a great representation of the 50s made it even better. I also had the fried chicken and then the brownie dessert. Our meal was great and it was something I will remember forever. It's definitely a place I will return to. I have never done LMA but it looks like a good show.

I can't believe that is half a chicken order. Definitely looks like enough to share. I haven't been to 50s in like 15 years, so definitely time for a revisit. We don't spend too much time in MGM these days, but if I can pull hubby from his beloved SciFi will hopefully be able to do it next trip.

Three of us shared the sampler there a few years ago. We all really liked both the chicken and pot roast, but none of us cared for the meatloaf. Which is actually kind of funny because the meatloaf is what I always ordered during my first three or four visits to PTC. I guess that just goes to show that it sometimes pays off to try something new.

Sounds like I need to borrow Casey for a ride on TSM, so at least then I would have a good excuse for my pitiful score.

I hate to be wishing the summer away but I really can't wait. I have been since our Dining Diva trip so it will be over a year and a half ... way to long to be away from my happy place! Yes, I have told her. Andrew really doesn't like to "play" so they may sense that. I am surprising them with the Illuminations Cruise though. Hoping I can actually keep it a secret that long!

After our "Frozen" fun at DHS, we returned to our room at the BWV to get ready for our night out on the town...or at least the part of the town that is located on the promenade of the Swan & Dolphin resort. 'Cause tonight we were wining and dining at the 5th Annual...




This was a two night event with tickets costing $95 per person for each night ( FYI, the price for 2015 has increased to $105). For our $95 ticket we could get unlimited food samples from 13 different food stations, as well as wine/beer/sake from 36 beverage stations. Another option though is to purchase an A La Carte ticket booklet which contains 25 tickets at a cost of $50, or $2 per a ticket. You then use the a la carte tickets to purchase as you go, with the booth offerings ranging in price from two to six tickets (for the Shula's beef tenderloin).

Nine of the Swan & Dolphin restaurants were represented here, from the signature restaurants of Shula's, Il Mulino, Bluezoo, and Kimonos to the casual restaurants of Fresh, Fountain, Garden Grove, and the Cabana Bar and Beach Club Grill. Even their quick service restaurant, Picabu, had a booth. Rounding out the food line-up were a booth hosted by Chef Todd English, Cib's Smoke Shop booth hosted by Chef Robert Ciborowski (the executive chef of the Swan & Dolphin Resort), a dessert booth hosted by Chef Laurent Branlard (the Swan & Dolphin's executive pastry chef), and the Cabot Cheese Grille food truck. Of the 36 beverage stations, 32 of them were serving wine, three had beer, and a Japan booth was serving Ty Ku sake. While half of the wine booths were serving wines from U.S. vineyards (most from California, but one each from Oregon and Washington), the countries of Argentina, Chile, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa were also represented.


So anyway, my husband and I arrived soon after opening time, which was 5:30. We were given a small plastic tray and wine glass, plus a map with a directory that listed all of the stations and what their offering was for that evening (most of the food booths did not serve the same thing both nights). Here is a photo of part of this map to help you visualize the lay of the land for this event.



NOTE: I just now noticed in the above photo that they misspelled St. Supéry winery (#34 station), switching the "r" and "e" and spelling it St. Suprey. Oops!


My husband and I quickly located the Shula's Steakhouse booth, which was at the far end of the side walkway (station M on the map). We were rewarded for making this our first stop by not having to stand in a line (which developed here later in the evening) for one of the most popular items of the festival...



Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Sauce Bordelaise and Mashed Potatoes (6 tickets)

We each had one of these and it was so good that we went back for seconds. So in terms of the a la carte ticket price, we had just eaten $48 worth of food after just one booth!


I think we both chose Liberty School Pinot Noir (California, Central Coast) for our first wine tasting of the evening...



As you can see, the pours were not very generous here...but of course, there were unlimited refills!


Our next stop was at the Cabana Bar and Beach Club booth for this...



Bell & Evans Chicken Yakitori, Mushroom Tsunomono, and Miso Crackling (3 tickets)

This was good, but not worthy of returning for a second one.


Then we came to the Todd English booth which, according to the map, was serving an assortment of crudos. There were four different seafood dishes here and we tried all of them...



Starting with the glass and moving clockwise these were:
Lobster “Salpicon” Shot
Fluke, Lemon Basil Nitro
Pine Island Shrimp & Lardo Crostini
Tuna Tataki, Caponata
(These were all 5 tickets each)



Not being a big fan of raw fish, these were just okay for me. My favorite was probably the Tuna Tataki, probably because the tuna was cooked...




Moving down the line, our next stop was Il Mulino where they were serving Arancini...





Arancini - Osso Buco, Carnaroli Rice, and Spicy Tomato Sauce (3 tickets)

Molto Buono!


Another of my favorites of the night came from the Cabot Cheese Grille Truck...


Mac & Cheese with Legacy Tomato Basil Sauce (3 tickets)

I'm a sucker for good mac & cheese!


Sometime during this leg of our tour of the booths, we met up with Niki (Niki Andiokno) & her DH and Beth (Couchy) & her DH. Niki had already moved on before I thought to take a photo, so this one is just of Beth and me...




Then it was time for us to explore the main causeway...








We started with the Fresh booth, which was serving Thai Chicken Salad...

I actually can't remember anything about this one.


I do though remember liking the falafel from the Fountain booth...

Then it was time for something sweet from the Dessert tent, where they had this beautiful work of art on display...




This was made of sugar!!



We had to try all four of their dessert offerings...


Lemon Angel Food Cake topped with a Lemon Peel Mousse and Blueberry Dome (3 tickets)

I'm not a fan of lemon, but my husband enjoyed this one.


I did like this dessert though...


Chocolate Crunch Napoleon with Hazelnut Dacquoise, Chocolate Whipped Cream, and two layers of Chocolate (3 tickets)


And I liked this one even better...


Tres Leches Sponge Cake topped with Exotic Cremeux Vanilla Bavarois, Exotic Gelee, and Coconut Marshmallows (3 tickets)


But my absolute favorite dessert of the evening was being made at this table...




Any guesses what this was? If you guessed Pressed Brioche Ice Cream Sandwich, then you were right...


Banana Foster Panini with Caramelized Banana Rum Compote and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (3 tickets)


Their sign referred to this as a panini but no matter what you call it, this was delicious! It was even better than the similar pressed brioche ice cream sandwich (they call it a Croque Glacé, I think) that they sell for about $6 at Epcot's French ice cream shop, L'Artisan des Glaces.


Having satisfied our sweet tooth, we grabbed a glass of wine and took a break to listen to the band which was performing on the stage in front of the Dolphin's entrance...






This was The Current and they were quite good. They were actually the third (and last) group to perform that evening, as there was live musical entertainment from the start of the event at 5:30 until the finish at 9:00.

After enjoying a few songs by the band we were ready for Round 2 at the food booths, beginning with the Garden Grove booth where they were serving another one of our favorites for the evening...

In terms of deliciousness, this was equal to Shula's beef tenderloin. This was really good!!


I think it was about this time that we ran into a "new" friend...



This was Lou, who had been one of my table mates at the French Luncheon I attended at Monsieur Paul one week earlier. Our paths had again crossed the next evening at the Party for the Senses. So this was our third meeting at a Food & Wine festival event, but it would not be the last.


Our next food tastings were tacos from the Picabu booth...






These tasted better than they looked in my bad photos. One of these was filled with shredded beef and the other had organic vegetables, both with a corn tortilla shell.


Next to Picabu was a beer booth serving craft beers from the Lagunitas Brewing Co., as well as some Sam Adams beers...



I took a photo because this booth was being manned by a friendly bear.


With less than a half hour remaining, we had time for only two more booths. Here is a photo of my husband holding our final two choices...





This was also the only photo I have which shows what the plastic trays and wine glasses looked like.



So the first of our last two booths was Cib's Smoke Shop, where they were serving Handcrafted Bacon...

This was a little too fatty for my taste. My husband liked it a little more than I did, however it wasn't one of his favorites.



But I did actually like our last choice of the evening, which was from the Kimonos booth...


Dragon Roll with Crispy Shrimp, Tuna, and Avocado (5 tickets)


So with the dragon roll, our evening at the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic ended on a tasty note.

Wow! That looks so amazing! Thank for your detailed reviews... I always love hearing about other peoples' Disney dining. One year I am going to make it to food and wine. It'll have to be after I retire though... no time off in the fall for teachers here!

Wow, I'm not even sure I have words. What an amazing experience!!!! At first I cringed at the price tag, but then I saw all that you got and it seems like a relatively good "deal." Plus from your pictures it doesn't look like it was too crowded.

That steak from Shulas and that bananas foster "panini" look worth the price of admission alone. And I know you aren't a raw seafood fan, but the Bluzoo offerings look amazing.
