Keep believin'...I got mine! There is hope!

For those of you who have been unable to score the room/resort that you want with the free dining, don't give up.
I thought that we were a lost cause also...We had exisisting reservations for the WL that already included the dining plan. So I thought that it would be pretty simple to get my package changed when I called this morning...WRONG! When I finally got someone, they told me that all of the standard rooms (which is what we were booked for) were all booked up with the free dining. The only way that we could keep a room at the WL and still get free dining was to upgrade to a courtyard bunkbed room. By the time that we paid for the upgrade and then got credited for free dining, we would have only been saving $50.
I didn't give up though...this afternoon I was playing around with the different resorts to see what else we might be able to get with the free dining. I put in our dates for the WL to see what would come up, and low and behold, there was a standard room with everything exactly the same as we already had. So I immediately jumped on the phone and called CRO to see if they could change it...They did! I ended up saving a little over $500! I guess persistance does payoff!
So to make a long story short...DON'T GIVE UP...There is a chance that you might still be able to get what you are wanting!

I'm glad to hear that. Sharing the hope with someone else was exactly the reason that I posted this here...I know how you feel! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, and sending some pixie dust your way!

This happened to me too. I called Monday to book POP with free dining. I was told they were completely sold out. I called back on Tuesday and it was available!

I don't really understand what is going on ? We were already booked at Pop and our TA got it switched to free dining yesterday, but other people are being told Pop is full??? It does seem they have less rooms available than in past years.....

jenrose66-What are the dates you are going? I am going September 14-21, and I want a preferred room at Pop. I'm actually on the phone with them now, I hope I can switch. I don't want to stay at All Star Sports! ETA, no availability for my dates. The kicker is, there ARE preferred rooms available at Pop, just not with the free dining promotion.

Almost the same thing that happened to UGAFan0829 happened to us. Yesterday morning our TA said she couldn't get us free dining at WL for any dates within the free dining promo. I started thinking about how she probably has at least 10 other people to worry about and probably couldn't keep calling every day to check on availability, so I took it upon myself to call around 2PM yesterday and got a standard room at WL for 9/3-9/10. This bumped our travel dates up a bit but we are okay with that and we haven't bought our plane tickets yet, so we don't have to make any changes there.

Wow, I called at about 10:30 this morning and All Star Sports was still available. (At that time it was the ONLY value still available) I guess Disney has been pretty busy!! I will still keep checking back for Pop...And my husband said today we might be able to upgrade closer to the trip. I told him yeah right, everything is going to be booked!
