I have heard Keen sandals mentioned on here but I wanted to know what style specifically is the most comfortable for a day of walking.

It probably depends on your foot. We all have Newports (IIRC, the original design).

My wife and I love our Keens. I believe we have Newports or the Kanyon styles. They work great for us!

It really does depend on your foot. I have tried Newport, Venice, and Whisper. I only like the Whisper. The other two styles made my legs and hips ache after awhile. The Whispers are great. They do seem to run a bit small. I wear a half size bigger than I normally wear. The rest of my family wears the Newports and have no trouble with them at all. Maybe I'm just a freak.:rotfl:

Keens are awesome - I must have 10 pairs. Venice, Newport, Whisper are all good for me, but sometimes rub (not blister rub) in different places so I rotate them. I have very sensitive feet and Keens are about the only brand I can wear all day. My very favorites are the Zerraports, but they've been discontinued :sad2:

Be warned, though - the cuter the Keens, probably the less comfortable. I have sent back an adorable pair of mary janes and the ones that look like a cut out canvas tennis shoe because the canvas is too rough.

All in all, :thumbsup2 to Keens and happy feet :cool1: Check the reviews of the different styles on Zappos.com - I've found them very reliable.

Have fun!!!:banana::banana:

ETA: The protected toes are a must for me - I'm a bit of a klutz... :)

I plan on wearing my keen newports
when I am there in October, my husband wears his newports to Disney also.

It definitely depends on your foot and I recommend finding a local retailer to try on the different styles. I never heard of them until I saw so many people wearing them at Disney and researched the brand once I returned home. Totally not my style, but totally worth it while at Disney! I have a pair of Newport in Seed and just bought a pair of McKenzie's for our upcoming trip. DD has the toddler version of Newport's too. :)

I love my Newport H2's.

Most Keens are wide in the toe box. I have a wide toe box, so they fit my foot well. My wife on the other hand prefers a narrow fit on her shoes and sandals. Merrells suit her foot more. Most Merrels feel tight on me.

Keens also have this big toe guard that is ugly or cool depending on your tastes. I busted my big toe several years ago, and it has a tendency to swell when I bump/hit it against something. So, for me it's perfect. Honestly, it like they designed their sandals and shoes just for me.

My DH and I just came back from a week long trip. During this trip we lived in our Keen Owyhee. LOVE THEM!!

Have a great trip!

Bought a pair of Newports for my son for SeaWorld camp -- He used them at Discovery Cove, Aquatica, and some days at SeaWorld too. Said they were even more comfortable than his tennis shoes. I'm thinking of getting a pair for me too if they fit my foot right prior to our March trip. I didn't know there were so many kinds. At REI (quick stop day before SeaWorld camp to get him something for the water), this was the only style they had in his size, and he liked them -- thought they were comfortable and liked the styling.

He and I both really like the idea of the toe protection based on the kinds of things we do.

I have 3 different styles of Keen and they are all wonderful dont think you can go wrong there

i just bought a pair of these from Zappos. Should be here next week. I bought a pair of Newports and returned them, as I did not like the rub I was getting from the strap across the back of the ankle. So I hope the Owyhee with its more closed heel will solve this.

Trying them on is a good idea!

I had gotten a pair of Keens Zuma for my daughter from Piperlime last year. I was jealous and wished I could get them. I also ordered an identical pair for her this year. Here's what they look like:

I got to looking at the Youth sizes and they went from 1-size 6Y. A youth size 6 is about a 7.5 - 8 in womens. Yes, they are lavender, but boy are they comfy!

I have about 10 different pairs of keens and I usually take a few different pairs with me. Love them all. I even have a pair of snowboots that I love.

The Owyhee are closer to a sneaker, but are still sandals. We both loved them and I hope that they work out for you. Have a great trip!

I have the newports and the whispers. Love them both--but the newports probably have a slight edge. It could just be they are more broken in though...

About to write exact same thing. :) I think the Newports have better support for longer periods of being on your feet, either at an amusement park all day or hiking along the A.T. I can't do that in the Whisper, although they are fine to go down to the river near my house for a walk with the dog.

I love my Keens!!! I wear the Newport & have several pairs. I rotate them with sneakers to avoid blisters. Works like a charm.

I have the newports and would not go to Disney without them - even in January! Mine are black and I wear black socks with them if it's a little cool and they look fine although I really don't care what other people think as long as my feet are happy. My sister said she would have never known I had socks and sandals on until I told her. Wish I could get by wearing them to work but don't think that will work.
