Kathryn & Charles, WDW wishes wedding, WP/GF 10/06/12!

 THANKS! When I was trying on dresses, it was so funny to hear my grandma (who's 86) say, "oh Kate that's so LOVELY!" See the bridal consultant's face beam because she picked a good one, and us secretly knowing my grandma was really saying, "that's the most hideous thing I've ever seen!" It was too funny. We had a good time.

One more note about sapphires: Yours is SOOOO pretty! :)

:lmao: Ah, that consultant must've thought so well of herself! That's hilarious!

The stone in my ring is actually tanzanite. It's purple-ish, but in some light it looks blue-ish. I fell in love with it when I went on an Alaskan cruise a few years back, so I "strongly hinted" to Doug that it'd be a good idea for an engagement ring. ;) Thankfully, he's smart and took the hint. :rotfl:

Oo, I LOVE the combination of colors of the BM dresses and their bouquets, that will so pretty!

And you look AMAZING in your dress! I'm sure it makes you want to wear it around all the time.

AWWW!! Thanks!!! I really have no idea when it comes to this wedding stuff, so thanks so much for the positive reinforcement! I totally need it! :)

Thanks for the kind comments about my dress too! I don't have it yet, so I can't wear it around all the time, but I would if I had it! I just got word that it was delivered (from Spain!!! Yes, she's an import) and I can go to my first fitting at the end of May! :yay:

Ok, just read through your PJ and first I have to say love the ring!! My birthday is in September and that is my birthstone, I've always loved it. I also loved the way you were oblivious to the proposal, that is too cute, I could just imagine, it made me giggle!

hehe.. Thanks!! I love the deep colors of sapphires, and that they are unique (or were before Kate Middleton copied me!:rotfl:) I was suspicious about the proposal... but thrilled! My little scream was in place of a "yes" because I couldn't speak. After he said, but you didn't say "yes"! OOPS!!

I'm getting so excited reading about your PS coming up! I still have a month before I can even book the date It's killing me,
Oh girl, I know that feeling! It felt like time was standing still! It's an exciting moment when you get to book it all tho! I can't wait to read about it when you do! :)

Wshs0127 said:
my plan is to give back to all these disbrides that have posted BEO's and pictures to help me along especially in the early planning stages! I feel like I'm guessing on the budget
YAY! As you know, its so helpful to have the support of other people going through the same thing and to get ideas and tips from them. My entire wedding has changed shape because of these lovely ladies! We're just paying it forward! :wizard:

Let me know if you find out anything on going with an outside florist. I'm probably going with an outside photographer - Randy Chapman - hear he's great and reasonably priced and I've considered looking into outside florist as well.
Most definitely!
Florist: We are almost 100% sure we're going to go with Greenery productions. http://www.greeneryproductions.com/ If you're unsure, call them up and if you get a chance to go down for a meeting, go! Its free of charge and I promise you'll absolutely fall in love with Tommy and his vision. He LITERALLY is my own personal David Tuterra! He's worked with Disney before and knows the ins and outs and how to navigate them, so to speak. If you're considering an outside florist, talk to him first.
Photographer: We are absolutely not going with Disney photography. My DF won't have anything to do with them after our engagement shoot. While I know this doesn't happen to everyone, it happened to us and we just can't take the risk of having it happen on the big day. SOO... we looked around and found three possible options. Chapman, who was taken, Concept photography, who we'll probably go with, and Regina, who we found out is branching out on her own in August! (We found out just a little too late about that tho.) My suggestion: look at their portfolios and see which style you like the best, then go with them! Good Luck!
Phew, that was long winded.. sorry about that! :)

I feel sooooo embarrassed! As soon as you said that I remembered it from your engagement story! I'm so sorry I didn't remember! :flower3: Nevertheless, your ring is still gorgeous! :)
And she did, until she caught on. She asked me in the dressing room, is your gram ok? You seem to disagree on every dress! I spilled the beans then and then she thought it was just as funny as the rest of us! :rotfl:

Oh, no worries! There are so many PJs on here, it's hard to keep track sometimes! :rotfl:

At least she took it well! The one girl that helped me at DB seemed to take it quite personally when my MoH brought two dresses over from the sale rack. Her personality changed completely. :sad2:

Oh! I got the update on the bouquet today. To have the purpley-blue flowers added in, it was only $25 extra. I say "only" because I figured it'd be crazy expensive, since, well, ya know. ;)

Fingers crossed for you on photography! I was just saying today that obviously it would be a bit premature to book our vendors now for 2016, but as soon as we get our date confirmed I'm booking who we want so they don't get taken!

Boo Hiss to the DB woman!! I've had this experience too where they are more concerned about their commission than making you look as pretty as possible and respecting your budget.

ohhh.. $25! :yay: YAY! Thats awesome. That does seem like a great price to make that adjustment.. and oh yeah.. I know!! :sad2: I'm glad it was an easy add on! I can't wait to see the pics of them in just a little over a month!! woo hoo for your wedding!!!

Thanks hon! And you are so right! As you know, when it comes to Disney, the earlier you can book something the better! I wish I had known what i wanted to book earlier than I did. People won't even think twice when you say 2016 once you mention Disney. They might even say, you're not the first to book for that year!

I'm fidgety with no real wedding planning to do, so I thought I'd check in here! (I'm so addicted!)
Tomorrow, I'm heading up to Washington DC to officially pick a bridesmaids dress with my MOH. Here are the three I'm trying to chose from:

Option 1:

dessy.jpg

option 2:

dessy2.jpg

Option 3:

images-1.jpg

They would all be in that dark navy color of the first and third ones. Thoughts on your favorite ones? I thought I would give my MOH first pick at the bridesmaid dress. My plan is then to travel to each bridesmaid (they literally all live in different states) and be with them when they try on the dresses. I thought it would be a fun bonding time since everyone can't get together all at once.

Also, here is a pictures of what our STD's turned out to look like. Does anyone else snicker every time they say or write "STD". :rotfl:
"Dear wedding guest, today you will receive in the mail Charles and Kate's STD... enjoy" I chuckle every time!

Anyway, here it is.

std.jpg

They went out last November. I'm really nervous to order the invites. I'm working on the wording now and what the inserts are going to say.
Who knew planning a wedding was SOOO complicated! :confused3

Well, that's my mini update while I twiddle my thumbs waiting to go to DC tomorrow!

Well, that's my mini update while I twiddle my thumbs waiting to go to DC tomorrow!

I really like the first dress!! Also, your Save the Dates were nice! I love the photo.

Also, I live right outside of DC, so you'll be in my area! DC is so nice right now, especially with the cherry blossoms in bloom & the gorgeous weather we've been having. Have fun with your MOH picking out dresses! :goodvibes

Love 1 and 2 for the dresses! That shade of blue is exactly what we're planning for ours too! And I totally love what you're doing with your BMs -- it will let them each feel special that you've made that effort to travel to them.

I can't wait to see how the invites turn out -- any idea what you want them to look like?

These boards are awfully addictive! I usually just keep the tab open and hit refresh

I like dresses one and two best. That's so sweet of you to travel to your girls! Where are they located?

Yeah, I do snicker a little at the save the date abbreviation. I can't be completely mature ALL the time - it's exhausting! :rotfl: They came out really cute! :goodvibes

YAY one vote for dress one! Its secretly my favorite too! I haven't divulged which is my favorite yet to my MOH, I want her to pick the one she feels the prettiest in. Thanks for your kind comments on my STD!
OHH yay for DC people. :yay: Like most people in DC, she's not from there. She got her masters there at American university and never moved after she graduated. I LOVE going to visit her. Especially this time of year! I absolutely love cherry blossoms. I hope we get to see some! Right now in Atlanta we are having a dusting of yellow icky pine pollen. At times it literally looks like a yellow fog in the air. I'll wave to you when I'm there!

That's two votes dress one and one vote dress two! hehe My favorite (secretly) is dress one, but like I said I want my MOH to pick the one she feels the prettiest in.
I saw in your VR PJ that you're picking the same navy color! BUT BUT you are accenting it with that "uh-awesome" (see my rating scale! :) ) green that is such a complimentary color to the navy! LOVE it!

Awww, thanks! It hasn't been met with positive reception in all cases, so thanks for saying that. I thought it was a nice gesture. Just goes to show you what one person thinks is "uh-Awesome", another thinks is "meh-minus"! I appreciate your kind words about it tho, makes me feel loads better!

We are stuck between two... One is a fold open deckled edge linen paper with an embossed monogram. The other is card stock with some fancy border. (6 months ago I wouldn't have understood what I just said! :confused3)I'll make a post on invites! Great idea. It makes me feel awesome that you're following along.

haha! I do the same thing with the boards! I just hit refresh! I just love the positive energy and how everyone is super excited for everyone elses wedding. So different than other experiences elsewhere. Plus the wealth of inspiration I've gotten from other brides is "uh-awesome"! (and I might be a bit of a copy cat now though!)
That's now 3 votes #1 and 2 votes #2. #1 is secretly my fav too!
Like I said to Mrs.Romance, thanks for saying that about traveling to my girls. Not everyone thinks its a good idea so I appreciate the positive feed back! Since you ask, not a single bm lives in the same state! I have one in each of the following places:
Washington, DC (MOH)
Atlanta, GA (FSIL)
Campaign, IL
Jackson, MS
Detroit, MI
San Antonio, TX
I'm not at all exaggerating when I say we have almost every state in the union represented on the guest list! The odd states out are Alaska, Vermont, and Alabama! Crazy right!?
As for STDs you're right we can't be mature all the time! It would be WAY too boring for that! Thanks for getting my lame sense humor!

You are soooo sweet! Thanks! Bad news tho, work wouldn't let me go today! I have to work tonight so I can't take a flight until the morning. BOO-HISS, no fun today! But, I'm getting up bright and early for tomorrow! We have three appointments lined up! PHEW! Trying to make up for lost time.

Oh, wow! It's good that you like travel then, huh? ;) At one point, my MoH was in CA, but then she found out she was pregnant (due at the end of this month) and flying to FL with a month and half old baby just wouldn't be an option. So my bridesmaid that's local was "promoted"

I joke around with Doug all the time that while according to my ID, I'm a 31 year old girl, there's secretly a 12 year old boy somewhere in my mind at times. :lmao: I may have to get older age-wise, but no one said I ever had to fully grow up! :goodvibes

HAHA. I LOVE to travel! #1 most favorite-est hobby! Hence the whole being a pilot thing. It really makes traveling a requirement! :) However, I have to say, when I travel for work I really only see hotels and airports. The traveling for free to where ever I want to go when I'm not working, however, is the BEST part! :)
That's crazy about your MOH! I'm so sorry! Least you had a local one that was promotable!
I couldn't agree with you more! I definitely have Peter Pan syndrome! Just because I get older doesn't mean I have to act it! (If I could have put peter pan as my avatar I would have, but tink had to do for now!)

Oh yeah, and another note--your PS is comming up soon EEK! Did you make sure to request the 'unusual' flavors for the cake tasting? If you haven't, make sure you do that, otherwise you will just get the standard flavors -- we didn't use Disney for our cake, but I have heard that the PB Cub filling is to die for!

CAKE!!!!! I'm so excited for the cake. Here's the run down.
I JUST found out about a chocolate cake with mint chocolate filling! I sooo want to request to taste this, BUT.. I've called my wedding planner's assistant now THREE times already for other changes. She had explained that if we wanted any unusual flavors that we should request them ahead of time. My DF would like a red velvet scuba diver for his grooms cake. His inspiration is from Steel Magnolias and their armadillo cake.

dillacake.jpg

So we requested to taste the red velvet cake. He's crazy, and I love it!
Calling her again for yet another request seems excessive? How many calls are too many calls?!
What's this "PB Cub" you talk about? Is that peanut better?? mmmmmm... :)
I was never given a list of the "unusual" flavors does such a list exist? If it wasn't for the DISBoards I would have no idea what flavors were even available!
