Kate's Back on Track Journal - comments welcome

Wow, what a great vacation! Sounds really relaxing. You will look great by the time you leave!

I have also been struggling in the food department. There has to be some way to re-program our brains! :confused3

Looks like you had a delicious Mother's Day brunch! The scrambled eggs with salsa and peppers sound great. Enjoy your trip to Panama Beach. I've never been but heard its beautiful up there. You'll look great for the trip - you're already at a good weight and with 5 1/2 weeks more you'll look fabulous.

Hi Kate, sounds like you had a good day today. I think your husband had a great idea with a beach vacation! Keep up the good work. Now I need to make those haystacks, but I'm afraid I'll eat the whole batch!

Amy

Glad you got a chance to get in that awesome workout! :cheer2:

Thursday morning: I didn't get to walk last night, I was helping DD study for a test, and other things going on at home, so no exercise. I WILL go out and walk at lunch today, unless it pours down, and even then, I can walk to the mall downtown and be a mall walker! :teeth:

Today is long day at work, then I go home and DD has a soccer game to make up for all the ones that have been rained out, other DD has dance, thank goodness for DS and his willingness to help out with the driving, since DH is never home in the evenings! I really hate this shift, and he does too, but I hate to complain, it is just a tough time right now.

ok, on to work. :sunny:

That's tough when you have to take on all the after-school responsibilities by yourself. I'm sure your DH wishes he could help out more. I did the single mom thing for a couple years (and that was just with 2 kids!) so I know how hard it is! Hang in there! :grouphug:

Woohoo, scale says down a pound!!

Only got to walk 20 minutes at lunch yesterday, and in the office again today, so the exercise is hurting, but things will improve eventually. :sunny:

Thanks for the support, Amy and Amy!

The veggies - well, that was one of the first things that was emphasized to me when I first started WW 4 years ago - try try try to get in 5 servings of f/v and 3 dairy every day. I don't make it all the time, but that's what I shoot for, and my eating habits have definitely improved over the years. :sunny:

0 coffee
1 strawberries/oranges
2 apple cinnamin oatmeal
1 1/2 c. milk

1 toast
2 tuna salad
1 fruit cup

3 veggie rice stir fry
2 cookie

5 shrimp creole
1 broccoli
1 fudgecicle
20 pts
5 AP's 40 min. walking this morning, 45 min. running/walking this
evening

5 f/v
1 dairy
lots of water
7 hrs sleep

Have been WAY too busy with work. Trying to get back to posting regularly. :sunny:

First day of summer vacation for the kids. DS had one last exam
today, he'll be home soon, then its grocery shopping with Grandma.
Oh boy. My kids LOVE to go with me, guess its cause they con me into getting all the junk they want!

We had really bad storms late yesterday and last night, heavy rain,
but mostly high winds and thunder and lightning. Summer in
Cincinnati. LOL things were ok here, but my parents had no
electricity for several hours, trees were down in places around
town. DD's dance school had the power go off and on several
times (her last dance class was last night, when I picked her up
it was during the middle of a deluge!)

And it was 84 degrees yesterday! We go from 45 earlier in the week
to 80's. Supposed to be in the 90's this weekend. No wonder we get
storms!

I got up this morning and ran 4.5 miles, felt pretty good. I did
that rather than go to the gym, didn't know if I'd have enough time
to do a long workout and still get back in time to shower and get
ready to pickup mom and go shopping. Anyway the scale is inching
down slowly, 133.0 this week from 133.8 last week, at least its
going in the right direction.

Tonight is DD's rehearsal for the dance recital, tomorrow is the recital, no plans for the rest of the weekend. Summer is here!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Great job getting that run in! Storm? What's a storm?? It's been a while since we've seen rain here. That's life in the desert! :sunny:

I'm glad to see the scale is moving for you! :cool1: Mine moved too - into the closet! I'm done with it. I really don't know when/if I will weigh myself again. All it does is make me mad and life is too short!

You must be doing something right, keep it up! :cheer2:

 Congrats on the 4.5 mile run!! Great job on your summer exercising and losing weight!

Oh, I have been way too busy with work, haven't gotten here, and feel so fat!! I got on the scale today and I'm up 4 lbs! What's up with that??

I'll blame it on TOM, which showed up, and I hate how I never know when that's coming anymore, Just LOVE this change of life thing. :rotfl: :confused3

Truly, I've been snacking way too much at night, and not sticking to my good eating. Today I'm making a new resolve to do good, at least for this month, because vacation starts the 23rd!! :Pinkbounc

We are in the same boat. Why can't it be in the "stays on track" boat? Let's get into that one instead!

You will look great for your vacation! :cool1:

I haven't checked in for a while, summer is always busy with things going on, the kids out of school, but fun.

Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary party is Sunday. The actual day is TODAY, and they're having breakfast out together, not sure what they have planned the rest of the day.

My kids have been working on a slide show on the computer of tons of pictures, from when mom and dad were kids, dating, wedding, myself and my sisters as kids, then the grandkids up to now. It has been a lot of work, but they've done a great job.

We also made a DVD of the wedding film. Mom and Dad had a home movie from their wedding and reception, several years ago we had it put onto VHS, now DH converted it to a DVD for them, so that will be fun to watch.

We're all going to church on Sunday morning, then a big brunch, hopefully I won't pig out on that!!

I'm so glad summer weather is here, I've been able to run nearly every day, and that helps so many things.

gotta run, work to do.

:sunny:

Sounds like you guys have a really nice party planned. I'm sure you can behave with your eating!

Have a blast!!!

Have fun on Sunday and enjoy your parents' 50th!!! :goodvibes It sounds like you have a wonderful party planned.

I hear ya on the 'mystery' weight and the never knowing when/if TOM will decide to appear. Last month my mystery was EIGHT pounds between the time I went to bed and the time I got up the next morning - more than a pound an hour!!

Hang in there!

How was the anniversary party??

Hope you're having a good weekend and that next week goes well!
