I always find that interesting..I wonder why do men put up with this. But then, I also wonder why women put up with the same thing. Perhaps it bothers those of us on the outside, more than it does them. Maybe the person being belittled doesn't see it the same as the rest of us. I have a neighbor who I think is very rough on her husband, and the other guys ask him why do you take it? He just smiles and says it doesn't bother him, he loves her just as she isShe still belittles my dad constantly. He just works a lot and avoids her.

The difference for me in a TV show is, (blah blah blah, I know I know LOL) that we see what they want to show us. And if they make Kate seem the nasty person (although Jon certainly got his kicks in) and ratings supported that (because who doesn't like a train wreck) why not continue it. Even Jon said they didn't show the ending, how they solved the argument or even the apology. Also, Jon was pretty boring to watch, and didn't have the camera time Kate did. Not saying he deserved it, before my words get twisted by others, but I do think he was often the 9th child.
We assume that because we would come forward to support our friend if they were talked about like Kate, that hers would, and in reality, we don't know why they don't. She may be liked by a lot of people that we don't know about (such as people in her church), but if we found that out, things on this board would be boring, because for many, it's important that no one like her.
