I had sympathy for him while the show was being taped - his behavior since then has taken most of it away.
However, I have particular disgust and disdain for her. I think she's an ugly person - inside and out.

I've always sympathized with John. Just because once released from the claws of this beeyach, he didn't know how to handle his new found freedom, doesn't make him the bad guy at all. She is the one who started the whole thing and you can see that, too on DWTS (I've always said that word "stars" is used loosely for this show) as her true claws I mean colors are coming out.

If I remember correctly, she made that comment when the extra nursing support was ending for her infants. I'm guessing there are a lot of parents out there who have wanted nursing support extended longer than it was provided by their insurance. I'll never understand why people can't be more forgiving about that. It's not like she sued, she just made a comment.

But the comment was repulsive. Society doesn't "owe" her anything. She chose to have fertility treatments, she chose to have children.

I guess I don't see it as repluaive. I see it as a mom who wanted whatever help she could get for her babies. Someone prob told her to try for it, and she did. Or she decided on her own. Whatever, she didn't get it. Who knows how many woman have asked for extra help, but never made the news. I wish there was a way for the government to step in and stop all these multiple births. Somewhere along the line most of them have very high medical bills and insurance seldom covers them.
As long as TLC and other channels make it glamorous I'm afraid it will continue..even more now.

I definitely had sympathy for Jon when the show was still on. Kate was nothing short of a complete b**** to him. As for his behavior now, I definitely don't agree with it, but I'm not at all surprised by it. I always thought that Jon felt that he was forced to grow up too early. He was really young when they had the twins and then to wind up having to care for 6 more babies...it's a lot to handle. So the fact that he is now, apparently, trying to make up for all of the time he "lost" doesn't surprise me at all.

Regarding Kate, I just wish she would get herself off of the tv. She thinks of herself as some super-mom, but she's not parenting at all. She is off guesting on the View, promoting her books, and appearing on Dancing with the Stars just so she can stay in the limelight. Just because you have 8 kids doesn't automatically qualify you for best mother ever and doesnt mean we should all worship you because of how hard your life is.

I truly think she is a horrible person and I have absolutely no respect for her. In fact, my mother and I were placing bets as to how long it would be before Kate started smacking her partner the way she did Jon on the show. And now the poor guy has to keep dancing with her. Her dance partner is the one I feel sympathy for in all of this.

Selective reduction should be manditory if you chose to use these treatments. Especially when you did it once before and got multiples.

You are playing God when you make 6+ at a time but then you will not play God with reduction.

I personall could not do the reduction so I would never take a drug that had high number of multiples as a side effect.

I have not problem with a person who has a high order multiple birth that was 100% natural. That was God's wishs and not selective reduction needed.

Before you make assumptions about our kids, you know nothing about how long we took to have them but we decided to let God or an adoption agency make our family.

Our agreement would end above this. IMO, even doing fertility doesn't mean you will have multiples. In my belief, I see a big difference between getting help to get pregnant and reducing the amount of babies. Which of those precious children would have been reduced?
I just wish they would not plant 6 or 8 eggs. But it really wouldn't apply here anyway, since that's not how Kate got pregnant.

100% agree. High order multiples seem to be more rare than a common occurance. I completely disagree that if you have fertility treatments than you should selectively reduce. Regardless of Kate and Jon, they have 8 beatiful kids, which of them was worthy of living or not? Why punish the innocent babies (in utero) for the mother and father's actions? I've not been a fan of Kate's but she stepped up to the plate and delivered every one of those babies. That I can appreciate.

6/8 eggs was Octomom. That should never happen. In her case the Dr. should foot all the bills. He violated the 2/3 egg rule.

Kate was fertility drugs and the number of eggs released is not easily calculated. Selective reduction is the only way to stop the 6+ eggs. Most of this order have sever physical and learning disabilities that are a direct result of the number of babies.

The drug works different on each women.

I love reading all the Kate Gosselin Hate threads!!! Its such drama. What amazes me is that people get so worked up over this woman and her family drama. There are so many more important things to get worked up over.

I was never a huge fan, just a fan, of the TLC show. I watched it when it was on, but I didnt live to see it every week. Then I found that without pity site...WOW...now that is a fun place!! I would read how these people would search out pictures of this family and bash bash bash!! DRAMA. Sometimes it was the best thing I would read all day

TLC should just have a show for Kate to sit in a chair and look into the camera for 10 minutes a day. This would get people going. I can imagine the blogs people will write about her wardrobe choices, or her newest botox appointments...HILARIOUS!!! What great entertainment!!

It's abuse either way. She abused him, he allowed it. If it were me, I would not have allowed it, but then that's me.

I don't watch the show (Jon and Kate) so I really only became aware of this family once the divorce rumors started. I know nothing about what they were like on the show, but so far, I think that her behavior has been outrageous on DWTS and I can't believe that anyone voted for her. For the person on this thread that said that DWTS was just taking advantage of her, she had the ability to say no and she chose not to. They aren't taking advantage of anything. SHE is putting out there. Besides, there have been loads of terrible dancers on that show who have laughed at themselves and gone on gracefully. Her? Not so much.

I am really only jumping into this thread because of the fertility treatment comments. Like the Octomom, I have NO idea how these people find doctors willing to let them try with such a high risk of multiples. I did a quick search on Google, and it looks like she got pregnant with 6 after hyper-stimulated ovaries. Where I question this is how that happened. My doctor NEVER would have continued with the insemination if I hyper-stimulated. Obviously because the risk of many multiples is possible. As a matter of fact, I had a friend that this happened to and they just removed the eggs and switched the cycle to an IVF cycle instead. Once she was better, they started over with the eggs that they collected. Yeah, it is possible that they errr....well......did what married people do and got pregnant that way, but we were told very clearly that we should NOT do that and it was a huge risk.

Eventually I succeeded in getting pregnant with my boy on my second IVF attempt. My doctor would ONLY put two embryos back for me (obviously only one 'took') and said that it is very rare that he would go up to three. It seems to me like malpractice to put back 5-6 embryos, especially in someone who has a set of twins already!

Fertility procedures have been a godsend to us since we wouldn't have our two beautiful kids without them, but these doctors that are willing to experiment with women and children in such an insane manner need to be stopped. Of course, the people who agree to it are just as nuts. I'll be happy when all these people are off the air. For now, I just avoid them.

OP, I don't know enough about Jon to know if I feel sorry for him or not, but Kate could dance the perfect Cha-cha and I wouldn't vote for her.
