I have always felt sorry for Jon. Maybe he did what he did so that he would feel like a real person that counted, not just her verbal punching bag. It doesn't excuse what he has done but maybe gives reason.

The ones I really feel sorry for are those precious kids and somehow I really feel for the twins most of all--always have.

To answer the OP's question.... No. I don't feel one bit sorry for John. He allowed himself to be treated in the manner Kate treated him.

I don't get the whole Kate bashing.

This is what I think....

Kate is a perfectionist, so it's understandable that she would be frustrated when she couldn't get the steps.

Jon is a DB.

IMO there is NOTHING wrong with Kate earning money for her kids. Lots of actors and actresses spend blocks of time away from their kids to make the money.

She & those kids have become accustomed to a certain lifestyle, and I don't blame her for trying to keep it up! It's not their fault their dad is an out of work DB!
BTW...If Jon wouldn't have ticked off TLC, Kate would still be on the air with her kids by her side instead of having to moonlight on other programs.

ITA. The other thing that blows my mind is how people are coming down on her for "being away from her children" for such a long period of time. She's not the first mother on DWTS, people. In fact, wasn't there a dancer that had a newborn?

I'm wondering if we could all agree to stop calling Kate an "actress." For the life of me I can't think of anything she "acted" in, except the role of a victim in a situation she helped create.

As to making ends meet as a Nurse. I'm sure we can look around the entire USA and find Nurses who are raising 4+ kids, even multiples, and live very modest lives. The only reason Kate forces herself upon the nation is because she doesn't WANT the modest lifestyle, thus she thinks she needs to make all of this money to survive.

In the end, I agree with most, these 2 trainwrecks of parenting are only hurting themselves and the 8 little ones who have been deceived.

And Kate's greedy self is backfiring in her face too.

Kate knew the risk. She had twins the first time and knew that high order multiples was a very real possibility. She counted the kids and saw $$$$.

The Dilley's (sp?) are supporting their kids without DWTS or a reality TV show. They so not live in a McMansion and the mom is not the queen of plastic surgery.

And once again, I feel like I am watching a different show than everyone else because she just seemed really frustrated and asking for a different way to learn the steps. He took it as an insult that she was telling him he did not know how to teach. But look at what Buzz's partner did for him to help him understand, she made a map for him. Not that it helped much, but she was making an effort to try and get him to understand.

Her only claim to fame was giving birth to a litter. Octomom had 8 at once so she must be way better than Kate. And she has 6 others. So Octomom must win hands down.

I agree 100%.

I tell DFiance all the time how I appreciate how he doesn't act like a 12 year old. He doesn't whine when he's hungry, or ever really, he's not a slob, he doesn't think he MUST drive (though I don't like to drive so he drives when we're together), he doesn't pee wherever he feels like and he's very responsible when he's with his grade school aged twin sisters. He also doesn't just sit back and do nothing.

Kate treated him like a child because he acted like one, I would have too.

What was Kate supposed to do? Terminate 4 or 5 of the sextuplets??? UH... I don't think so. I'm pro-choice (for the most part) but that goes with someone's choice to think termination is not an option, and I support that choice 100%.

If I had 6 kids coming on top of the 2 I have already then I would think $$$$ also in that how am I going to come up with all the money to support these kids. It's not as if she thought, or wanted, 8 kids. Having multiple multiples is extremely rare, even with help. They only thought they would have one more, not 6.

I find it hard to believe that Kate wasn't controlling and dominant BEFORE they got married. That's just the way she is. He married her. Just like I am sure he was a spineless spleeny snivelling twit before they married and she married him anyway.

I agree. She treated him like he was one of the kids, and he behaved like a sulky baby. They just weren't a good match. She reminds me of a dominatrix. That being said, once a control freak, always a control freak, even with her dance partner. If she could just tone it down a bit...

that's what i was getting out of it. she wasn't understanding and just wanted another way, and her partner was just "I DON'T KNOW OF ANY OTHER WAY!"

i've only watched maybe two episodes of her reality show, but both times i was about as annoyed with her husband as she was. it seemed like the simplest tasks he gave such a hard time with.

Kate Gosselin is the biggest whine bag going. I can't stand her. I don't see any different behavior on this show than I did on Jon and Kate Plus Eight. I don't excuse what Jon did; but yes, I sympathized with him long before now. The woman is a shrew.

Pretty much all of her homes, vacations, and other amenities have been given to her. Please don't equate her going on DWTS and other shows with what other Moms of 5, 6, 7, 8 kids do everyday...which is actual work! And, no, I don't count Kate's favorite occupation, sitting in her Adirondack chair sipping Starbucks, as work.

If those kids actually had 2 parents who gave a hoot about raising them, then there should be no issues about how big of a house they live in, if they're shopping at the Gap, or any other parts of their "lifestyle." Unfortunately their parents have switched the importance of love and material goods/fame in their lives.

Totally agree! TLC has been trying to find some opportunity for Kate since the show was shut down. The show would of been nothing without the kids. Kate is not an actress, singer, dancer, comedian, etc......she is the mother of 8 kids who were exploited on a reality show. Sure she enjoyed all the freebies (who wouldn't) and when the gravy train stopped, she was mad!

Her 15 min of fame is over--hopefully when they vote her off DWTS (and I'm sure it will be soon) I hope she fades into the sunset.
