This could get long.
This is going to be our last trip to Disney for quite a few years, but it is also our 7th trip there in 5 years. This trip was designed to be the do all see everything we haven't already seen/done. There is not a lot we haven't done.
Sunday 8/24
We arrived at our hotel about 3pm. Too many people in line to check in so we ate first. I checked in about 4:20. I had asked for a ground floor pool view room and paid for the preferred buildings. I got it. Room 1406 in Calypso. I didn't expect to get what I wanted so late in the day. This was a great location. We didn't need to cut thru the lobby for busses. We walked on the side of the building near the check in area.
It rained for a while that afternoon. I've been there enough to know to bring our ponchos with us. We went downtown to Disney Quest for the evening. We made a cd for my mother, what a riot! They did a great job making the cd jacket, with the words printed inside and the decoration on the cd itself. Cost $10 and some change. Ready in 3 minutes.
Monday 8/25
We went to AK for early entry. Many people there. We did primevil whirl twice. We went to Kilimonjaro safari ride, got a fast pass, went to conservation station for a little while, went on the safari ride (using fastpass). We walked around for a while shopping and stuff. We went back to our hotel for a while to swim.
We then went to Epcot. We rode Spaceship Earth, went on Mission Space (EXCELLENT), saw food rocks, the behind the seeds boat ride (I forget the real name of it) and Ice Station Cool. Jes loves the soda from China (yuck).
We went to Magic Kingdom because jes had to have a turkey leg! We went on TTA, buzz, finally I got on Astro orbiter, got a fp for space mountain but decided not to wait and gave them to a young couple, shopped the shops, watched some cast members on main street and went home to bed.
Tuesday 8/26
We went to Typhoon Lagoon for the day. We arrived at 9:15, it opened at 10, left about 3:30. We purchased the $10 mug (that has the barcode for refills). We went to the hotel, showered, went swimming again! (water logged by now) and was in bed by 9pm.
Wednesday 8/27
Went to Epcot for early entry. Went on M:S at 8:30 (before breakfast) and still loved it! we got a fp for test track before going on M:S. went on TT twice in a row and needed to eat breakfast real soon. Ate the breakfast burrito at the Electric Umbrella and it was delicious! We walked to the International Gateway and took the ferry to MGM.
At MGM we went shopping again, went to rockin' rollercoaster, got a fp, waited in the regular line (20 min) got off, went on again 5 minutes later. I just love fast pass. We were hot and decided to go to Blizzard Beach for the afternoon. We were there from 1-5pm ish.
Thursday 8/28
Went to MK for early entry. Got in abot 7:45 (I think). Went on Buzz, tta, mad tea party, waited for Toontown to open, went on peter pan, snow white, carousel, small world. As the rope dropped in Toontown, jes and I ran to barnstormer and were the first there to ride it. She loved that. I finally saw POTC, did the jungle cruise, rode the riverboat, went to Haunted mansion, saw the Dream come true parade, shipped, ate another turkey leg, tried a dole whip (not my thing) saw the tiki room show. Jes had a 1pm appointment at the GF for the childs manicure/facial. She really liked that. Been there done that kind of thing though. The facial was $65 and the manicure was $26.
I love the chicken fajitas at All Star Music. its a must get!
Friday 8/29
Went to MGM, did Millionnaire, star tours, Honey I shrunk the kids playground, backlot tour and stuff then went to hotel.
They installed an iron and ironing board that morning while we were out. I'm sure all rooms got it. Went to typhoon lagoon again. We brought our mug back and bought a $5 refill sticker. While on the way to TL, the driver Richard stopped there for us first then took everyone to downtown (even though he was not supposed to do that) and dropped us off at the front gate area. I thought that was very nice. Thanks Richard.
Went to Epcot about 7pm to finish the passport we started in june 2002.
We finished it and ate a bag of cinnamon almonds also.
Saturday 8/30
got up about 8am. watched tv, had breakfast, swam until about 3pm then went to MK. I finally got jes on space mountain!!! The wait was 40 minutes. We had nothing else to do so we waited. We went and had some glassed etched with jessie, john (born 8/27/03 my godson) and his brother's name joey. We also got some autographs today. I thought I read somewhere that if you gave a cm the name and address of someone, they would send an autographed picture to them. Well the 3 people I asked had no clue and one of them was in exposition hall at the beginning of MK. oh well.
Never go to Magic Kingdom on a saturday.
Sunday 8/31
Woke up leisurely and went to AK. Saw tarzan rocks (loud), flight of wonder (cool show) went on triceratops spin then decided to leave. Oh I had stroller rental slips from 11/00 and cashed them in. I got $5 back! Festival of the Lion King is closed.
There was an armadillo in front of our room in the morning. We saw a huge anteater at AK. We went back to hotel to swim a while then we went to MK again. We went to Space mountain, got a fast pass for 7:05 to 8:05, decided to wait in line (30 minutes). it was about 4:30. The people who went in line ahead of us had fastpassed for 4:55 to 5:55. They gave them to the cm because they didn't want them. The cm gave them to me. we still waited in line because we would get off then go right on again. Well, while in line, we found 1 fp for 6:50 to 7:50. after getting off, we got fp for buzz. Jes went on space mountain alone! my baby! we did a total of 4 times on space mountain tonight. I love fastpass.
Still very packed at MK on sunday too.
Monday 9/1
decided to swim all morning until we had to leave. left at 12:30 for the airport.
Other notes:
We did read everything and hear cm's say that the mug is good for your length of stay only. We did bring our mugs back with us from staying at movies and music in the past (this is our 4th time at the allstar resorts). Nobody questions you. People had mugs from Port Orleans with them. They even used the Typhool lagoon mugs there.
I had terrible Law and Order withdrawals.
I got lots of pressed pennies.
Jes and I shared most of our meals to save money this time. I love antennae toppers and got 4 that I didn't have.
The crouds were honestly, a lot less than I expected. Wait time was an average 25 to 30 min.
