Kali River Rapids

There is no guarantee that you will but there is also no guarantee that you wont. I like to play it safe and sit with a poncho on my lap that way if I see a big wave coming I can duck under it but I don't feel super silly actually wearing my bright yellow mickey poncho :)

DH and DD got wet. I got soaked beyond soaked. No poncho would have saved me.

You will get wet but odds are good you will get soaked, If you sit with me you will get soaked. Have never been on River Rapids without getting soaked, LOVE IT!

The ride is very fun and it's always entertaining to experience the anticipation of wondering who will be the lucky/unlucky (depends on your perspective) soakees. I personally don't want to be soaked, so I wear my poncho! I end up staying pretty dry even if I'm the unlucky one on the receiving end of the big splash.

If you sit right next to me, it's a guarantee you WILL get soaked. Every time. Drenched. Soaked to the skin.

Same here. The kids fight about who has to sit near me, cause we are going to get wet. We usually make sure its our last ride of the day as most times its a wet to the undies ride, at least for me. And while the kids want to be wet, they don't want that wet :)

We get soaked every time! But in August you dry off in 2 seconds so it's no biggie :D

Basically exactly what I was going to say! Last year when my DD and I rode it we got soaked, but by the time we made it to the lockers we were completely dry. It was a bit disappointing because it was August and I was looking forward to cooling off a bit! But we did realize we were still a little damp when we went to see Nemo right afterwards! Brrrr....

I found the chances of getting completely drenched head to toe were FAR higher on KRR than California Adventures Grizzly Rapids. In the latter its generally 1 or 2 people who get soaked with the others splashed a bit.

1. Haven't been on it in many years. I vaguely remember there being a center area on the raft that you could store things in? Is that still true?

2. Are you allowed to store shoes in there or do they make you have something on your feet?

3.Are the lockers free?

1. The center area is no longer covered.

2. You have to wear shoes.

3. They're free for 2 hours.

The middle part doesn't have that flap over it any longer???? Since when? We were there last summer and it was still there. Always found it was enough to keep stuff relatively dry in there.

I don't know how long, but there's a picture in a fairly recent post on easyWDW (the last few weeks). I'd post a link, but I'm on my Kindle and I don't know how. And that compartment isn't big enough for everyone on the boat to put their stuff in, anyway - I'd much rather use the free lockers.

I'm always the person going backward down the big hill and I always get soaked! Always. So sit next to me! And I also remember the center of the boat being a storage space. Last month when we rode it was no longer storage space.

I normally get drenched. I'm thrilled to know about the lockers. I've somehow missed that in the past. As others have said, I really wish that ride was longer. The theming and ride itself are awesome, it's just over so fast.

It was no longer there when we went in October.

So if there's no storage on the rafts anymore, exactly where are the lockers and do they actually lock? Safe to put valuables in there? And they're free?

They are just past the entrance to the ride (on the left near the bathrooms). They are free for up to 2 hrs. You use a computer to put in a code and a locker number is given. Type in your code to lock and unlock.

DH and I rode yesterday. We were sitting together in the two seats. I got very mildly splashed, some spots on my legs and arms, a little on my shirt and a small wet patch on the front of my shorts. I was to the right of DH and the left half of his body got soaked from shoulder to knees. Not his shoes tho. The left half of his shirt and shorts were soaked. It just depends on how the raft turns. Most people got very wet or soaked, I and another lady got very little.

Is it a guarantee you get soaked about every time you ride? Thanks

No.. but there is a good chance you'll be splashed and some people will get soaked and hte people next to them partially soaked.. chances of your feet staying dry are pretty low.

That was removed, it's now free lockers and don't bring on anything that you don't want wet. they are also outside of the ride near it, you need to have your stuff in a locker before going into line.

The best part of this ride is the fact that someone will get soaked and some will stay (mostly) dry. I have never been soaked but have gotten moderately wet a few times. My wife got totally drenched one time and in fact had to purchase a new shirt (quickly) because it didn't cover well WET!!! ;)

I'm thinking about trying Kali River Rapids this trip. Is it a guarantee you get soaked about every time you ride? Thanks

No, you're guaranteed to get bored. It's nothing but a slow raft ride that turns slowly and bumps the sides a little bit. The only excitement is one little drop and wondering if your going to get moderately wet or completely soaked. Besides that, there's very little to see, the scenery and excitement level is pretty bland. If you don't want to get wet, wear a poncho and lift your feet to keep them dry and then you can really take a good nap.

I'd imagine that makes loading the ride a little more efficient. No more waiting for people to put their stuff in the center and make sure the flap is closed before putting on seat belts. Just sit down and buckle up.
