Kali River rapids clothing question

We always take advantage of the lockers and rest rooms at the entrance to kali. Wear flip flops and shorts/tank tops, then after riding change into dry clothes. Can't stand walking around wet!

Me too. I also have worn a one piece bathing suit with shorts and flip flops on Kali, then changed into regular clothes and shoes afterward.

Last august we rode Kali for the first time and the humidity in FL is such that DH and I had wet shorts (and undergarments) for the rest of the day. We were not wearing quick-dry clothes. We were uncomfortable for the rest of the day. We probably won't ride again this year.

It always seems to be the hottest day on earth on our AK day every August so we dry off almost immediately after riding this lol

My older kids would like to ride Kali River rapids for the first time on our next trip. I have done it many years ago but can't remember what I wore. Can they wear their rashguards and swimsuit bottoms? Also I saw something about shoes being required. I would hate to have their only pair of sneakers soaked. I know flip flops aren't allowed but what about water shoes?

Any tips on how to dress for this...where to change for afterwards or before or wearing a poncho or a suit etc...

Thanks for any help!

Not sure where you heard flip flops aren't allowed. That's what probably 90% of people were wearing. You could look at Keens though. They've got the support of a sneaker, but dry like a sandal. It's all my kids wore in Disney, and they loved them.

Are you talking boys or girls? I'm sure boys can wear swim shorts and rash guard no problem, but I doubt they'd let a girl wear a bathing suit only. We just wore our regular clothes. We got soaked. We dried out pretty quickly in the 100F weather, lol.

My boys always wore swim suits and rash guards on our AK day because they love Kali. They used to wear crocs to the park, too. As they have gotten older they don't like crocs or flip flops so shoes have become a problem. They like to wear sneakers, but hate when they get soaked.
