One of our favorite things to do at AK was to ride KRR an hour or so before closing. Our first time through we usually waited 20 min, by the time we got off the ride the line would be much shorter. We would usually be allowed to get right back on the ride without having to go through the whole que, sometimes we could even stay on the boat and reride. We would usually get 5 or 6 rides in a row! Is this still possible with FP+? I am worried that now FP+ reservations will keep the ride busy til park closing.

It's going to be hard to tell until FP+ in its current state has run through all the seasons of a year, but with the parade being discontinued at the end of this month and many people viewing AK as as half day park, even if you don't get as many rides as you used to at the end of the day, you should get more than you would earlier on. The balancing factor to your detriment is that people who have done this before often save KRR to the end of their park day so they aren't walking around cold/hot and humid in wet clothes so this really could go either way. Our KRR FP's are all for the end of our day, whatever time we plan on leaving the park that may be.

5-6 is not bad going. I'm impressed! It takes a while to walk through that queue area from the exit back to the loading dock. What time did you used to head over there? I would think you'd need more than an hour for that many rides even if it is walk on.

What time of year are you going and what time of day? I've never seen the line under 30 minutes when I've gone (usually August).

We usually go in early August, park closing was 7pm. We would get in line around 5:45 have about a 20 minute wait (the standby time posted usually said 30-40 min). After the first ride sometimes we would have to go through the whole que again (the line would be empty). After the second ride we would either be allowed to stay on the ride without exiting or have to exit but at the top of the ramp the cast member would let us go right back down the ramp without having to walk the whole que. We loved it because we wouldn't care how wet we got because we were going back to the hotel when we were done riding. We were all SOAKED by the end of the day!
