We are currently booked for 10 nights in a studio at old key west. It is my DH's favorite. He LOVES it there. It is where we all feel at home. We have stayed at Jambo house (villas and reg room) 4 other times but never kadani. I am thinking of doing a split stay. 5 nights at kadani and 5 at okw. They have a savanah view available.

The problem is that twice we had booked savanah view at Jambo and got a view of an empty savannah. It is now on our list of don't bother. However DD (6) and I love animals and I have heard better things about Kadani. I need some serious help in convincing DH to do this and be happy about it.

The split stay would be nessesary because my parents are meeting us at OKW halfway through the trip.

What would you do?
Thanks
Heidi

What about a shorter split, maybe 3/7 or 4/6 for your husband so he gets more time at OKW?

I thought about a 3 7 stay. That might work. We could do a 1 br then too.

Kidani is wonderful. Ask for the left side near the pool. The giraffes go on that side more. Enjoy. I'm already counting days until we go back. 346!!

These were our last 2 most recent trips! (Kidani in 2010 and OKW in 2011).....2 adults, no kids....if I had a choice I'd do a 3/7 split with the majority of the stay at OKW.....there just something about that resort! We feel most "at home" there even though Kidani is our home resort! Absolutely love OKW!!!!

We feel the same way about Old Key West. It is the resort we would own a vacation home at even if no theme parks were there.

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to do a 3/7 split stay. That way we can have a birthday celebration at animal kingdom for DD. I am thinking Jikos dinner and a zebra cake delivered. Then relax at okw for a week after.

This is interesting. We love okw too. It's our home resort. Plan on staying at akv jambo in jan one night to at least try it. I keep looking to see if something comes up for nov but so far just a day here and there. Don't think we'd like doing a split stay tho.

The split stay is really easy. We just call the bell hop and tell them we are switching and they move it all for you.

I try to hop around the other resorts as much as I can, but Kidani is my current favorite of them all! I highly recommend the split stay to experience it, especially since you're going for 10 days. :cool1:

Sounds like a wonderful plan, combining the two resorts (favorites of mine also) with more time at OKW.:)

Doing a split stay for 5 days each sounds doable and you get the best of both worlds. :thumbsup2

Split stay is what we're doing; 7 nights at OKW, 2 at Kidani. But if you are going to be there 10 nights you could do an 8/2 split in order to have full mouse service instead of towel service after 4 nights at OKW

We just did 5 and 5 at OKW and Kidani in June. OKW was nice, but Kidani was awesome. Loved the covered parking and the pool area. We also really liked the remoteness of it too. It felt like going back to the bat cave every night, off the beaten trail in it's own little corner. :)
