Were you proposed to at WDW?
If yes, how did it happen? Please share your story! And I am sorry if something like this has been posted before.

I am asking because I think DBF is planning something for our trip in April...

I hope it's sooner, but I know how special Disney World is to us. :goodvibes

(the last option of the poll is kind of a joke  )

DF proposed to me while we were at the Magic Kingdom watching Wishes. He had gotten a glass slipper from Ariba Bros etched with our names, the date, and "Will you marry me? He got on one knee during the finale and presented me with the slipper and my engagement ring sitting inside! Thats a pretty weak recap, but it was perfect for me :)

Disneyland at the wishing well. He didn't get down on one knee - he froze up and barely remembers even asking me!!! :rotfl:

i wasn't proposed to at disney yet... i told my dbf that if he dosn't ask me at WDW then i won't say yes :teeth: ya i don't think i could really tell the man no but he dosn't know that :lmao:

i would love to hear some of your detailed disney proposal stories
it'll probably put a tear in my eye...i love hearing other peoples stories!

We got engaged on my 26th birthday at Disney World. I wasn't expecting it so I barely remember what happened! We got married at the Wedding Pavillion the following July. That, however, I'll never forget. :goodvibes

Have you posted the longer version before? I think I remember reading about it. I love that story, so very sweet :goodvibes

My DF proposed to me at EPCOT last December, 3 days before Christmas. We were walking to the Living Seas from Innoventions and my shoe became untied. He bent down and tied it, and then he stayed on one knee and asked me to marry him! He said he was going to wait for Illuminations but thought that this was more spontaneous. We then walked around the World Showcase and drank some good wine. And then watched Illuminations with the awesome holiday ending. :) :cloud9:

I had never been to Disney World before and he had been once before when he was younger. Well I had always wanted to go since I was a little girl and he knew this. So we planned a trip for the end of December 2004 and I had no idea he was going to propose to me here! Well, our first day there we went to the Magic Kingdom and during Wishes (when they tell you to make a wish) I ofcourse made a wish that I would get engaged! But right at that moment a guy next to us bent down on one knee and proposed to a girl and her family was there and they all started crying and getting happy. So I gave my DH a big hug and said how sweet that was. So yeah, I was really happy for them but I was like darn! I wish that was me. So after Wishes we went back to our Resort and went back to our room. Then he says out of the blue right when i'm taking my shoes off that he wanted to go take a walk around our resort. I was like alrighty. So we were walking around by the water and he kept trying to walk on the piers but they were closed. And I was wondering what he was doing. He would say whats over here lets go look. This was like in the middle of the night too. Well get to the middle of the resort where there was this beautiful tierd water fountain with flowers all around it and benches. So he says lets go look at it. Okay so I went and he took me to the bench and sat me down only he didn't sit down he got down on one knee.... pulled a ring box out of his jacket pocket and asked me to marry him!! I said YES!! :lovestruc

We went down for my Fiance's (bf @the time) belated birthday and he said he wanted to go to Narcosee's for dinner then since our reservation was so late he wanted to go to the beach next to the Wedding Pavillion to watch Wishes. After Wishes started he got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to have a reason to bring me back to Wedding Pavillion since he knew it was my dream to have a Disney Wedding :lovestruc

DF proposed to me at Cinderella's Royal Table just after dinner. They brought out a platter (I thought was dessert) and was uncovered in front of me. The platter had rose petals on the bottom, and then a blue glass slipper engraved with our names and "Will you be my Princess?". The ring was slipped onto a rose bud inside the slipper. It was so romantic and very unexpected!! Then we sat there newly engaged and watched wishes from our window table.

I proposed to DF on 02/14/2005 in DL.

We were flying over London on Peter Pan when I asked. She was shocked for the rest of the ride and finally said yes at the end.

I had a feeling DH was going to propose, I just wasn't sure if he had gotten the ring because it was being made for me. He drew out the afternoon. First after spending part of the day (and getting drenched) at the MK (I was hoping for the proposal on the carousel) we went back to our room. He had asked the concierge to have wine for us in the room. There was a beautiful tray set up and the wine was in the fridge. So I went to the bedroom and he poured the wine into etched champagne glasses with Mickey & Minnie and our names. We sat on the balcony and drank wine before getting ready for dinner. Still no proposal LOL. Finally at dinner at Shulas he proposed. It was very romantic and they even gave us free dessert!

My husband proposed to me during the finale of Illuminations in August 2005. We were married a year later at the Wedding Pavillion and had an Illuminations Dessert Party.

Yes, my DF proposed to me on December 30, 2005. The whole trip was a surprise (it was my Christmas gift).
He rented the Grand 1 Yacht to watch Wishes. We had two captains - it was truly amazing. Just as wishes began he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I will never forget this moment for the rest of my life. One of the captains took pictures for us.
And now we are planning a Disney Wedding

Sort of but not really. . .

We were at WDW for MVMCP in early Dec '04. . .and we were having such a wonderful time. . .during Wishes. . . With his arms wrapped around me, he whispered in my ear "I wish I had a ring so that I could propose to you right now". All I said was "I love you." and just hugged him tighter.

I will never forget the moment, because that was the first time he ever really indicated that he wanted to marry me, and I could not have been happier.

Two short weeks later, on Christmas morning, he got down on one knee and 'proposed' again.

So. . .technically, no. . .but I will always concider it to be part of our story! :goodvibes

DF proposed this past August on the bridge between Liberty Square and the hub, with the castle in the background. It was the first night of our vacation and I knew he was going to do it (I had helped pick out my ring, we had talked about it, etc.) but I didn't know how or when (other than it was going to be at the MK).

He brought this gift bag with him to the park and I ended up getting gifts throughout the night (along with cute and sweet little speeches :cloud9: ). Finally he gave me this Lenox Prince Charming box and I totally thought that the ring had to be inside, but it wasn't! He used it to throw me off and finally gave me the ring on our way out of the park.

It was absolutely perfect, except after I said yes and we kissed, these stupid teenage boys walked by and yelled at us to "get a room." Way to ruin a moment.

DF and I had already been talking about marriage, so I knew it was coming. I was even there when he picked out the ring. He had planned a visit to the WP to meet with his mom's friend (Gayle) on a wednesday. On Thursday during spring break, DF, myself, my son and DF's sis-in-law went to MK. DF stopped by Guest Services. He wouldn't let me go in, so already I was suspicious. We went on Small World, and then I wanted to go inside the shop in the castle. The princess coronation was going on so the only entrance was through the back. Anyways, I was hot and frustrated because I "thought" he was going to propose and our trip was almost over. When I walked out of the shop, his SIL had her video camera, he got down on one knee holding a glass slipper from Arribas Bros. In it was the engagement ring we picked out. He was so incredibly nervous and there were lots of people watching. He turned to me and quietly said "hey, will you do me a favor? Will you marry me?" I thought he was kidding so I kept telling him to stop, but it was real. After I said yes, the crowd applauded. DF and I had our pic taken in front of the castle. Then we were told to stop back by guest services. Kristin (one of the castmembers) gave us the Mickey and Minne Bride and Groom ears. I was so excited.
Then we got on the monorail to head for the Poly. We had reservations for O'hanas with his family. I called my mom to tell her the news. She was so excited (she knew about it apparently) and asked if there were any other surprises. I said no. But as soon as we got to the poly, we walked towards the restaurant and there was my brother adn his family along with DF's family. I was so surprised. DF had arranged for one of my brothers and his family to come down to be a part of the last few days and celebrate our engagement. It was amazing. I sat and cried on teh phone with my mom.

DF and I had talked about marriage for awhile, but there was no way I thought he was going to propose this past May. I didn't think he had a ring or that he was ready. So five days into our 10 day trip we had spent the whole day at the pool at POR. After dinner that night we went on a carriage ride around the resort and he kept saying how he wanted to propose on this trip because he knew WDW was the perfect place to propose to me. And I kept getting freaked out because 1. I wanted him to propose to and I was upset he wouldn't be, and 2. I was getting uncomfortable with the driver over hearing us. So we finish the ride and start taking a long, lazy walk back to our room. Outside of our room in the courtyard was this HUGE fountain all lit up and night and I just thought it was the most gorgeous thing. So I ran up to it and handed him the camera and asked him to take my picture. He did, but he was fidgeting, and then runs up to me and says, 'wait a minute'. And he turns me to face him, and all I thought he was doing was posing me for a better shot. The next thing I know he is down on one knee saying this romantic speech and then, 'Will you marry me?' and pulls out this gorgeous ring. I was in shock! I think I actually said, 'Are you serious!?!' about 15 times before I could say yes! LOL Then later back in our room when he was telling me about how he went about pulling off the huge surprise, one of the things he told me is that he had called Disney to arrange a proposal with their help, and everything they suggested (dinner at CA Grill, during Wishes at the fountain, etc.) he shot down. And finally he was like, 'Listen, she LOVES Disney and has every day planned out. AND she reads the Dis Boards!!! If I try to do any of these she will know immediately what is going on. I need something different!' LOL how great is that!?! 7
