Just when you thought names can't get any stranger

DD12 has a girl in her class who is named Germisha. Seriously, what were her parents thinking?

I went to school with a girl who is named Stormy Heather (first and middle names). Our band director couldn't stop laughing when he first found out. :rotfl: I had always liked it.

Our oldest son was born during a hurricane in LA and we had to leave home during the eye (my water broke with the reduced pressure) and my neighbor took us in his truck (higher than car with water deep in places). To the day we left there, he called our son "Stormy" :goodvibes Then during hurricane Floyd in NC this same son had a son born on his exact birthday :confused3 There was a picture and big write up in our paper here!!

:thumbsup2 Cute!

I work in a school and I see a LOT of weird names. Names that make me shake my head. And just when i think I've heard it all, something new shows up. Today it was a parent's name. On her child's health card it looked like it was spelled "CARTILAGE". Cartilage? Like what your nose and ears are made of? Or maybe it is car-till-AAAH-jay? Nope. *ring, ring* "Hello, this is Cartilage Jones~" What was her mother thinking?

I went to college with a girl named Chrysanthemum--she went by Chris as much as she could.:rolleyes1

My sister's ex DH wanted to name my nephew "Brock Lee." I made my sister repeat it to me several times until she finally got it, and chose a different middle name.

The lemonjello and orangejello twins will be showing up soon...

Yes, the gang's all here - Female, La-a, Nosmo King, and Placenta. Lemonjello and Orangejello are bound to show up any minute!!:rolleyes1

Right?

I don't think "Baby Girl" is as uncommon as you might think. I also worked with a Baby Girl - but she went by Heather or Hailey or something "normal". It was an H name. I can't remember.

But I didn't believe her - she showed me her Drivers License. She was young, maybe 16, they just had never gotten around to changing it to what they finally decided on (that H name...)

And Bath Salts ~ synthetic cocaine.

Two years of working with kids and the weirdest name I've heard so far is Armani. Which isn't that bad, it even sounds normal to me, considering some of the names I've read on the DIS. Eventually I'll run into worse, I'm sure, especially in this age of "unique" names.

I have a coworker who went to school with a girl they called Chris. Her last name was Lear. It wasn't until graduation when he saw her full name in writing. Her given name was Chrystal Shanda Lear.

He still chuckles to this day (about 40 yrs later) about Chrystal Chandelier! :rotfl:

I work as a teacher at a play class place for kids. Most kids are, surprisingly, named normal names there. The weirdest ones there that I've seen have been Justus (why not spell it Justice, you know, the way it's supposed to be spelled) and Urban.
