I read that horrible Budget thread. They were some of the worst comments I have ever seen anywhere on the boards. Some people feel the need to hurt others to make themselves feel like big stuff. Sad.

For all the razzing we give each other on this board, it's mostly done with good humor. When it starts getting tense, our Mod's do a good job of shutting threads down. Sometimes they shut it down before I can get my licks in, but hey....life sucks that way!!

Some of the other boards get downright brutal. I stay away from them & stick close to my camping board & my Fiends.

It does seem the "sanctimonious judgemental meter" has been pinned at about an 11 on the other boards lately.

Usually it's only about a 9!

There's a thread going on Theme Parks now which has essentially turned into a 20 page pissing contest about party entry time.

We do get the occasional thread that goes awry here - often when folks without an appreciation for the Camping Board Wise@$$ Sense of Humor come along. Some people are just new and just don't get that it's all in good fun and that we really are a helpful bunch.... if you don't rub us the wrong way.

And then sometimes we get people who wander over from the OTHER BOARDS and... well... let's just say...

Some of those threads do get shut down.

Some of them become true masterpieces that will never die.... locked or not.


Now excuse me while I go try and find someone to share a site with who won't smoke and will let my dogs ride their bikes around in circles all day....

First time posting in Camping, though I lurk (and will definitely make use of this forum on our next trip to WDW, when we definitely plan to stay at FW). We would stay there this time, but FIL gave us a week of his timeshare, which finally convinced DH to go. Sounds like you guys have a LOT of fun!!!


But I did want to say that most of those brutal comments on BB were from the same 2 or 3 people. There were several others who offered some really great advice and stuck up for the OP. I don't want to few bad ones to give the whole group a bad name.

And FWIW, that thread has been closed and at least one person "suspended" from DISboards. I agree that there's no need for people to be so nasty and judgmental.
