I've been having nightmares about this and everytime I hear a plane flying over me, I think it's going to blow up and fall from the sky. To think that this would have actually been happening sends shivers down my spine. It's unbelievable.

I thank God that these maniacs were stopped and I'm so grateful to those responsible for catching them. It's not the end though is it? It will never end. I'm sure they are out to achieve something bigger than 9/11. It's so scary.

We all need to be more alert and keep an eye on what's going on around us.... it's up to everyone to stop these maniacs not just the police, MI5 etc..

Aloha!
Please allow me to humbly add my thanks and "the thanks of a grateful nation"..to paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill...

But I have the same anxiety as Disney D... AND...DS is flying from USA in a few weeks to begin his university LONDON SEMESTER! Truly a dream come true for him and DH and myself as lovers of all things UK. Trying to remain calm and optimistic for his sake. ANGELS & PIXIEDUST for all!

Try not to worry too much the hand luggage ban has been lifted here now but there are still no liquids allowed on board. Don't let the terrorists win by getting worried i'm certain everything will go along fine.Good luck to your ds at uni :dance3:

We must be extremely grateful to our security forces, but as for being proud of our country, yes..but whilst being proud, its also difficult not to be ashamed that the culprits are so called "British".
Let me tell you that it was purely our misfortune that their parents happened to be here when they were born.....Terrorist scum like these people are NOT British in my eyes (and this has nothing atall to do with color of skin, its to do with intolerance, integration and hatred).

I shudder to think of how many people could have been killed, given several hundered are on a plane at a time.

I really wish there was some kind of stronger penalty these scum could face. As it stands they will probbaly get a few years in jail, come out, recruit others to their "cause", and kill at a later date. Things can, unfortunately, only get worse.
The ironic thing is, none of these British citizens would have dreamed of doing this if it hadn't been for our governments decision to invade Iraq.

He's in more danger in the car journey to the airport than on the flight. Thousands are killed on the roads every year, very few by terrorists. He'll be fine. :)

Aloha! :wave2:
And thanks...I really don't want to let my anxiety spoil this happy time for DS.

A few parents of students where I teach were killed in 9-11 and also here in my neighborhood, there is a memorial to community members killed, so I guess I'm hyper-sensitive....

Oh no,...and now I have to worry about the ride to the airport as well????

Just kidding....I'm ALREADY a mess whenever he's on the road!! :goodvibes

Thanks all!

Hello, new to this site :wave2: , I just read through all the posts and how nice to see all the thanks to our overworked and underpaid police force. I find it hard to understand why anyone would want to blow up planes etc, it worries me as I live very close to Heathrow Airport. So thanks for the kind words, I have two members of my family involved with security and i cant wait to tell them about what I have read here today. :)

We live in a democratic country. If you dont agrea with the government you vote against them - not blow up a plane.

I'd like to add my sincere thanks and gratitude for what your men and women in the police force have done for us. It will be interesting to see how all of this unfolds.

Thanks again!!!! :thumbsup2

It wouldn't have mattered who was in government, we still would have gone to war with Iraq. Democracy isn't foolproof.

Don't forget folks, the police have to get it right all the time, the terrorists only have to get it right once.

True but having said that the majority did/still support the war. A million people protested (50+ million didnt). As usual the silent majority.
