After being the craziest quarantiners on the block, kids are now (kind of) in full time school. It's bad here, it's super political here. No one has any idea what is going on, and, well, feels bad man. I feel like my kids and my whole family are now going to be exposed.

A family member got Covid and had recently recovered the first week WDW opened. I sent them there using my banked points, and they had a FABULOUS time. We agreed that if we get Covid, we will all hop on a plane and head out to WDW when we are recovered, and just not even sweat it. So I guess there's that?

Sounds like you sre from New York. So am I. Good luck!

I’m just not worrying anymore and my husband is as at a doctors today who said we don’t need to stress and to simply follow the safety protocols.

Even though I am from a state with restrictions I can do the Quarantine when I return from my trips.

Unless I get sick prior , my plan is to go. Though I will be limiting my trips to stores starting a week ahead to just to be on the safe side.

Friends and we planned to meet in Dollywood in November and our plans were probably made in February. My friend didn’t want to cancel, but I have been getting emails from her explaining how careful they have been and because of a hip replacement how terrible the consequences would be if she got the virus and then got an infection. I totally understand and asked if we can plan to go next year. Dollywood in November has been a tradition for us since 1998. They do Christmas the way we like it.

DH and I feel we will be safe enough to go and will not cancel. We can/will quarantine when we come home, and hopefully then we will be heading for December in WDW.

Best wishes to all of you as you decide what you will do. We went to Dollywood the first week it opened in June and yes, we used public restrooms along the interstates, and all in all, we were pleased with things. Dollywood will not have all it’s Christmas things active, but we want to see what they will have!

My 76 year old father had his hip replaced middle of June, caught the virus in July and it was totally fine. He was sick for 2 weeks and then was perfectly back to normal. Having a hip replacement does not doom you if you catch the virus.

That’s good to know! I am happy your father recovered so well!!!

Will you go if you don’t catch Covid? Or only if there’s some sort of cure? I just can’t get excited about my May trip knowing the world and Disney probably won’t be normal still. It makes me sad.

Speaking as someone who got Covid in late June and is still not recovered, getting a second infection is my biggest fear right now. I have been following the emerging research very carefully. It seems to be rare, but it can happen, and in some of the cases the second infection was worse than the first. Since there is more than one strain of the virus out there, I would not count on having been infected with Covid as a guarantee you won’t get it again.

Having said that, we are planning a trip in November. We will drive and I feel good about the safety procedures Disney has put in place. I’m going to have to rent a scooter for the first time since I’m still debilitated. It will be a very different trip than we are used to. We are typically park commandos. This time, I may not leave the resort some days. But it is still a trip my family is looking forward to, after being stuck mostly at home with a sick mom for nearly four months.

I know none of you know me in real life, but I’m young, and prior to Covid was perfectly healthy and fit.

Wow. Thank you for sharing your story. I think it’s important to hear first hand accounts of those who have had it because I feel like we’re at a time where many are getting complacent due to the seemingly never ending nature of this pandemic.

I really hope you get feeling back to 100% soon!!! I know there is no time to be sick as a mom.

I'm so sorry! I've been hearing more and more about "long Covid" and it is something I don't think a lot of people realize happens. Wishing you a full recovery ASAP!

I think for my family, we either need to have recently had covid or there is some kind of cure. So, I expect to have to move my Feb trip. My points expire Jan 2022. If this isn't fixed by then, we are all in trouble. Then maybe it's time to sell the whole thing...

This is what is giving me anxiety about my recent DVC purchase, the possibility that this never really ends.

My concern is catching it and spreading it to some immunocomprimsed family members . I hope we get a vaccine soon. I won’t be traveling until we get a vaccine.
