Just Venting!!

UGGG!!! I just need a minute to vent with people who understand!!

I'm not saying this to make anyone feel bad, but in the past 30 days I have gotten sooooo many emails with pin code discounts. Unfortunatly, because I was actually on the ball, I booked our trip for what I thought was a low crowd time 12/5-12/12 AND bought our plane tickets months and months ago, before I realized this was not the case this year.

Yesterday I called Disney Travel to price out a trip within the "free dining" and discount dates... I would save over $600 if I changed our week. So I called the Airline to find out what it would be with fees and what not... the cost to change our plane tix for a family of 4 is over $700

With my final payment due on the 20th, and the budget tight this month, I'm seriously considering dumping the DDP for now and adding it on before we get there... I've read on this board that it can be done up to 72 hours before we leave.... my TA (not Disney direct) is telling me this can't be done... UGGG! I think I'm going to try it anyway - since I think once my package is paid in full I can deal with Disney for upgrades instead of the TA.

I know everything will come together before we leave!! I was just soooo hoping for some sort of discount after reading all those posts!! Our first family trip and we are paying 100% rack rate!!!!!!! Oh well... I am still greatful that we can finally take the kids this year! They've been talking about it non-stop since we first made the decision back in June!

You cant talk to disney AT ALL even after full payment. And your TA is wrong, you can drop the DDP and you better do it before the 45 day mark if you dont want a penalty and then add it outside of 72 hours from travel

I don't trust MY TA at all...
This past August, when the FD was offered (correct me if i am wrong), my TA told me there was NO FD in the *summer*. SHe said it was high season.
I beg to differ, isn't Aug -Sept like VALUE? GRRR....

Do you have AAA or disney visa? depending on when you are going there are some You haveto keep looking for theses but we are going DEC 5-15 and got a few discounts for our room and they were also available for packages. Hope you get something.

mbanks21 is right - your reservation is "owned" by your AAA agent and you will not be able to make changes yourself at any point. (which is why I never use a TA for WDW - I have you guys and you are much better!) I'm wondering if agents get commission on the DP or if your agent is just clueless, but you can drop the plan and add it back again. I will repeat because this is important - do this before you hit your 45 days mark or Disney will charge you a change fee. When you go to add it back on, you won't get a change fee because you are increasing the price of your package.

We come in on the 13th (last minute trip for the FD promotion) so we'll just miss you.

Us too.....and I book in August of 2007 (the day the 2008 packages came out). No email or regular mail code, and the visa and general codes don't apply to my week..... But yes, at least we are going.....

Can someone tell me what the email pin codes look like? I get stuff from Disney, I look it over, but I never see any pin codes. Is it in small print or will you be able to look at the email and know right away that it is a pin code?

I haven't received any postcards, but I think I get an email at least once a week or once every two weeks. They always come from disney@vacation.disneyworld.com and the header always says "Good News XXXXX Family..."

It had been more than 6 months since I had ordered the DVD, and I had also ordered the park maps - all in my own name, and I hadn't received anything.

I ordered another copy of the DVD with my kids names and almost as soon as I did, all the emails started showing up. Definitely worth it!! Next time I'll do it BEFORE I book our trip and plane tickets though!!!!

Well wish me luck!! I'm about to send my TA an email asking her to take the DDP off.
