We don't need anything special for Discovery Cove? No sunscreen, but what about towels? What about special footwear? We will have flip flops or crocs. Are there lockers for our belongings and how much is the fee?

Until this morning, I didn't know we were going at all, but we will be there in about 10 days...so any info I can get as fast as I can get it would be great!

Oh, yeah - can my son bring and use his underwater video camera in the reef? It attaches to a headband and is hands free. It will be amazing if he can do this....I'm really hoping!

3 more:

1) How long does the Mears transportation shuttle usually take each way? We are using it to and from Animal Kingdom Lodge.

2) I know food is included. Is it mostly breakfast and lunch? Or does the food stay out (buffet?) long enough to grab a quick dinner on the way out, as well? In other words: will I need to count on dinner plans after leaving DC?

3) How long does it take to warm up in the morning (we will be there on a day with an expected low of 51 and high of 78) and what time will the temp start dropping again?

Thanks - hope that's it!

Towels, parking, sunscreen, wetsuits, all snacks, all drinks, lunch, dinner, lockers.....all provided at no extra cost, and as part of your admission :thumbsup2 .

You can definitely use underwater cameras in the reef.

Breakfast will be already out and available for guests when you arrive, and will continue to be out until 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served from either 11 until 2:30 or 11 until 3 pm (not sure which). Snacks (including soft pretzels) are available at the snack locations until park closing. You should count on a late (and maybe light) dinner after eating so much all day.

I would suggest water shoes to protect your feet while in each of the various areas of the park, from walkways to the lazy river.

The temps start to warm up as the sun comes up. The closer to noon the warmer it will get. It won't start to drop til after sunset.

Hi! Just did DC last Monday ... so let me know if you have any more questions.

-- We all wore watershoes that we brought ... however, DD14 ended up taking hers off and was fine too. She wanted to feel the sand in some places.

-- The freshwater/otter areas have much warmer water and that is where we started in the morning. Also, the circular river that goes through the aviary is warmer.

--Lockers are included and you are given a key or keys (we needed two) when you get your wetsuit or vests. The keys are on a rope to wear around your neck. You can access the locker as many times as you want.

-- You get a net bag with your snorkel and mask (when you get the wetsuit) and that has an individual packet of sunscreen in it. It was enough for us. However, I brought my own face sunscreen because my face is extremely sensitive and I can't use any other type.

-- I believe the hours are posted somewhere for the meals, however we did breakfast first thing and lunch around noon. I did see the buffet was still open around 2:00. However, it was closed by 2:30 or 3:00.

-- Snacks were open all day. Self-serve for a lot of the things.
Frozen cherry and lemonade drinks (non-alcoholic)
Coke products
Frozen pina coladas and mango (alcoholic)
Beers (bottle & draft)
Margaritis (non-frozen)

Soft Pretzels (salted, non-salted and cinnamon sugar -- ask)
Trail Mix
Granola Bars
Assorted Chips
Goldfish

-- We did dinner back at our hotel pool bar! But, I do think you probably will need dinner or heavy snack for evening.

Let me know if you have more questions.:)

You can definitely bring an underwater camera. Didn't see anyone with one on their head but I don't see why not.

I second what the others have said. All you need to bring is a swimsuit and, if you desire, water shoes. We bought the picture CD/DVD last time, this time we are bringing our own underwater camera.

There was so much food available, even snacks as we were leaving, that we just had a light snack before bed.
