Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

There are codes out there for those of us who have no PIN. I called this morning and got a great CM who looked at several different codes to see which would give me the best discount. She was able to save me $391.50 , which was wonderful! It does not hurt to call and talk to a CM and see if there are any codes out there that can save you some money!

Ok, so I call back to switch ressie to dates within email 11-1 to 11-7 instead of 11-5 to 11-12 with my XXX code...(Dates ranged from Oct 21 to Nov 3rd among others on the email.)

Now, I'm told the code is only good for April to June???!! This really is getting frustrating....Will try again - calling CRO is like putting a quarter in the slot machine and pulling the lever.

OT, but I do sometimes wonder if they keep a file on us like the Seinfeld episode with Elaine and the doctor chart - one doctor wrote difficult and she couldn't get another doctor to treat her because they all had access to that chart- another reason to always be sweet as pie:) when calling CRO!

Now this is amusing. I literally had just posted about how I called and got that rate even though I never got an email or whatever. Then I get an email which I don't open right away. I finally check it out and it's a pin offer, the same one I assume that was just applied to my trip. How odd.

Maybe we are so quick here on DIS that we found out about the offer before they had a chance to send out the emails.

I'm still so amazed that different CM's give different stories. Is it a pin or public code?

When I called and added Sept 11 and Sept 12 to our reservation I was told that I didn't have to give my e-mail pin code because it was already in the system under my name.

The funny thing is I would have never know about this if I hadn't gotten the e-mail.

I called with two public codes that didn't work. (She explained that I had missed the offer or something.) What she ended up applying and what I got the email about was a pin code for my use only. It did indeed come from Disney Destinations and the subject line says "Pack Now - Amazing Disney Resort Offer!"

On further looking at it, the email has my boyfriends last name on it but it was sent to me. Kind of odd.

I'm glad you got a postcard.

I got a different answer from Disney every time I call. The code most of us have used was valid to book now until the end of the year, for 40% room with dining. I believe people are still booking this code. It may be a public code. If a CM is not helpful, many of us called another CM. I was told by one CM that I had a pin, 2 other CM's had no idea what I was talking about. When I booked my trip, I don't know if they used the pin or not.

You know the more I look at this, the more I believe there are two identical offers floating around. The email/postcard offer that is tied to a specific numerical pin is one. The other seems to be THE CODE of 3 alphabet letters. Both seem to offer the 40% off room rate package. The funny thing is that I booked using the letter code yesterday and today I get an email (in my maiden name) for the numerical pin code. I don't care which one I use as long as it gets me the discount and is valid.

As the originator of this post... I confess that this is the only post of mine that so many have ever been interested in!!! :yay:

So...

Now that we have (or have not) saved so much money... how many of you decided to upgrade to a better room/resort than you would have w/out the discount???

This has already been determined.

Pin code=40% room only discount
3 letter code=package deal that gives 40% off room, rack rate for everything else.

The debate is whether or not the three letter code is a public code or if it's necessary to have the pin code as well (since some have speculated that the three letter code is simply the upsell to a package deal for those who received the pin code). Disney CMs are saying different things. Some say the 3 letter code is public, some say it's attached to the pin code.

Could you add available dates to this? One post up it says the 3 letter code is for most dates before the end of the year. I have the stinking PIN code for 40% off but not for the dates I want. I would go with a package (3 letter code) if it includes my date. (That is assuming someone would be nice enough to give me that code!)
Thanks

I honestly don't know what the dates are. I didn't receive the pin code, so I don't know what those dates were. Perhaps someone who did receive the pin code can enlighten us to the dates (but obviously don't give out your code). The 3 letter code seems to be random with dates...as people here have reported that it wouldn't apply on some travel dates but if they changed their ressie by a day or week or what have you, they were able to get the discount.

On to a lighter note, eh?

YES!! I upgraded from value to deluxe...from POP to AKL!!

Well yes and no. Originally we were going to book with a AAA rate, and stay at POR, but hadn't booked yet. When I got the e-mail witn the pin on it I booked Poly on my own because I know that's the place my fiancee wanted to stay for our honeymoon but couldn't because of the price. Well when I told her where we booked, she said well with that deal why not stay a couple extra nights. So instead of staying 7 nights at Poly, we are staying 9 nights instead.

We decided to go from the WL to the YC.:banana:40% off a standard a view room at the Wilderness is very similar in savings to AP codes. 40% a room at the YC is not as common. And being able to add dining to that. It's to good to pass up.

If free dining does come around, this code has saved us $500 more than that would have.

Can anyone tell me how to get these codes? Guess I'm new to this discount code thing. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

Well we usually stay deluxe but this trip we planned on saving some $$ for some stuff for our house (tile floors, maybe new couch) but when I priced places with this offer it was too good to pass up deluxe. It was cheaper than free dining was last year. We booked at the Poly.

I also thought about Yacht & Baech just to try something new but the only thing that came up was concierge :sad2: When day did you book and what room category did you get. If you got standard or water view than I might try to switch to Yacht club. We love beaches & Cream and want to try SAB. Thanks.:)
