Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

I can't believe Disney is still taking and booking with the code with some CM's already admitting it was a problem. I hope this truely is a public code. But I don't think we are supose to post the actual code until it's verified as a public code. The Moderators will shut down this thread. PLease don't post the Code.

I just called and was able to change my existing reservation in September using the code. She gave me the prices for both, with dining and without. I ended up with CSR September 1st for seven nights ( king bed ) with 8 day park hopper passes for two adults for 1290 ( no dining ). My price before that was 1794.
I'm happy with that price!

I believe this is a public code...the magic your way plus dining with free hopper is the *** (code deleted as this is a PIN offer) code. I called a few weeks ago and the prices were the same:
val 1611.76
m 2128.08
de 3112.00
7 nights one day hopper, 2 ad 1 child
this was posted under the something's coming thread....

We are going Feb. 19, and I just called from my cell phone half-hanging out the window at work, to find out if any discounts applied to my trip. Nope. I was told that neither of the letter codes applied to room only--you had to have a package for them. When I asked if there was a pin code associated with my name, I was told that if one hadn't been there when I made the original rez, it certainly wouldn't be there now! I didn't even want to get into that discussion, so just thanked the lady politely and ... went back to the Dis... oops...I mean to work!

I believe this could be some of the confusion at Disney....it appears that the *** code may have been used on a previous offer that was the free hopping upgrade.

I understand that people will believe what they want and I get the confusion because it appears no two people at Disney have the same response to this issue. But I can assure you....this is a targeted code associated with a pin. The fact that some cm's are booking it anyways or are misinformed does not change that.

Disney is telling TA's if you have clients who cancel with you because they booked this offer direct...just give us their info and we will put them at the top of the call list to revoke the offer.

Tracey - can I ask where you are getting your info?
(not doubting you, just curious)

*****Strike this post - I understand..."Disney is telling TA's"...I was thinking CM's.
Sorry.

Editing again to ask: What does it mean when Disney says they are revoking the offer with TA's??? Should those of us that booked this code through CRO also expect a call with bad news?

I personally don't understand how they could revoke this offer when several people have told the CM's that they didn't receive a postcard or email and the CM STILL told them this was a general code and gave it to them anyway. That is their error, not some sort of computer glitch like the Boardwalk thing last year (or whenever it was). To me, if the company makes the error, then they should have to honor it. The CM's should be trained better on the codes. Even if ithis code really is a pin code, it's not like it was a code that did not exist at all that was being booked in error. This codes was being given out, but just to targeted groups.

Trust me, even with 40% off of room rates, I'm quite sure that Disney is making a nice little profit when you take into considertion all of the money that these people will be spending on other things like food, souveniors, etc.

Sorry let me clarify...if Disney revokes the offer they will revoke it for everyone. To my knowledge nobody has gotten this offer through a TA. There is a seperate TA line with usually more experienced CM"S. They won't allow the booking with this code. So if a client had an existing ressie with a TA but then wanted this deal...the TA couldn't offer it. Now say that same client books it directly with Disney and gets the offer and calls the TA to cancel the ressie they had booked with the TA. Disney is telling TA's that if this happenened to you give us the name of the client and we will call them and explain that they are ineligible for the offer.

As someone else stated apparently CRO is sorting through the bookings and figuring out who is eligible and who isn't. Not a simple task!!

To me, if the company makes the error, then they should have to honor it.

If the person taking advantage of this "error" knows full well they aren't eligible for it then it isn't the company's position to honor it

There is no way to get a "3 letter code" without actually knowing about it from these boards, advertisement, your travel agent, or through a mailing you have. You can rest assured that anyone that did use it that wasn't eligible for it knows they weren't but didn't care about the consequences

This deal with the pin code is not as good as the free dining code that everyone is waiting to come out for the summer. I can't see why Disney would revoke the reservations if they are going to offer a better deal in April. I booked :cool1: it :cool1: but if I can get FREE DINING I will change my reservations.

I used a three letter code for my January trip - it was a code that anyone is allowed to use (if there was availability). This code was similar to the code I used last time. Sure, I saw it here, just like I saw it on Mousesavers for January. But, when I called and booked my reservation, I ASKED the CM if this was a code I could use. She said yes. I don't think that is taking advantage, honestly.

That is not what others are talking about
They are talking about using the code that is specifically associated with a pin offer that they aren't eligible for and trying until they get a cm that didn't check the rules of it. That is taking advantage of it

I JUST DON'T GET THIS!!!!!! I guess I'm just a dumb Disney novice....maybe someone can explain it to me.

If I call CRO and ask if there's a discount that I'm eligible for - without giving a specific code, for the dates I am looking at, and they say "why yes, there is, it's code XXX"....then where's the problem?! If they are looking it up and they offer up the code, is this taking advantage of a system error??? Are these 3-letter codes only sent out in e-mails or by postcard? I was under the impression that there are often these unadvertised codes available that you can call and ask about - that are just "magically" :wizard: attached to your name??? Am I wrong?

Someone please clarify. Thanks.

Oh - sorry. I misunderstood.

In any case, I hope everyone gets the dates they want at prices they can live with!

I just called and got great rates for my June and December trips:

Wilderness Lodge Woods View
6/3-6/10 (7 nights)
2 adults, 1 child
plus dining
plus 1 day tickets
$2406.
On-line price is $3320
Room-only price on-line is $2283
Total savings $914.00

Polynesian Garden view
12/19-12/26 (7 nights)
2 adults, 1 child
plus dining
plus 1 day tickets
$2590
On-line price is $3627
Room-only price on-line is $2591
Total savings $1036

I am so excited to get these rates. We have AP passes, but I think we are saving more money doing it this way than with AP rates (if they're available).

Hmm, well now I am a little upset over this recent turn of events. I truly did not think I was doing anything shady or dishonest when I called CRO and asked about a code that I had read about. I talked to 2 different CMs that I explained to that I did NOT receive a postcard or email, and they both looked up the code for me, and both told me that I was eligible to use it for my stay.

Now as I am reading the recent posts about this, I feel like I am going to be looked at as trying to do something underhanded here. I am anxious to see how this all turns out, because if Disney revokes this, I may have trouble convincing dh to make a trip at all.

I just wish that all of CRO could just get on the same page so they stop causing all these confusion issues among guests!

Lisa

To be honest I think Disney should do away with the pin offers so that this type of confusion (dishonesty, when done intentionally) will end

Please adhere to DIS board guidelines. Posting any offer that is reported to be a PIN offer, regardless of whether or not you have been able to use it without a PIN is AGAINST DIS POSTING GUIDELINES.

These posts will be removed, and if they continue the Webmasters will again go to the "no codes posted" rules that used to be in place.

The webmasters have generously allowed for codes to be posted that are public codes (FL resident, AP, AAA, general public) let's not ruin that by continuing to post codes that are not intended for everyone to use.

Yes, some CMs may book a reservation for guests with a code that requires a PIN and not apply the PIN, but that can have repercussions for that CM or for the guest possibly.

If there is ANY INDICATION on these boards that a code that has been listed was a PIN offer and not a general public code PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO TRY TO POST IT HERE.
