Is their anyone that has done a DCL VR with it just being you and your hubby?

We have a DCL VR booked for May 2009. It's just the two of us that will be their, ok so I'm really rethinking this, I have questions.............

With it just the two of us..

1. who hold the flowers during the ring exchange?

2. who does the toast for us during the champaigne part?

3. what about the first dance? is that not uncomfortable being just the two of you and them waiting on you to finish?

4. cake cutting? do the guide us through all this and have cake with us, or do they just watch the two of us?

Maybe its cold feet......I just wonder how many people have done this being only them. If someone could please help me calm my nerves and answer some of these questions I would be sooooo happy!!! and would feel much better about this!!!!!

Well...our wedding wasn't on DCL but it was just the two of us!

1. My planner held my flowers for my entire ceremony. She also held my cell phone so my mom could hear.

2. Someone will do a "generic" toast for you...either the officiant or planner or someone who is serving the champagne. Heck, you could just toast to each other! I'll bet you can find some lovely things to say to each other!

3. We didn't do a first dance (DH doesn't dance) so we didn't have to worry about this...but if you want to do that, I'm sure no one will make you feel rushed to finish!

4. My planner did everything to help us with the cake cutting as well...in fact she put the knife in position and then we sliced for the pictures. Afterwards, she's the one who actually cut the pieces for us to feed each other.

Now...take a deep breath!!!;) There are probably a lot more people than you think who have done these things "just the two of us"! We had no awkward moments and the memories are so awesome!!

pstevens just came back from her DCL VR..it was just her and her hubby.

I think one of the officers will hold your flowers during the ceremony and I have heard of people inviting their servers to the VR..and I have heard of the Captain allowing the crew members who attend (food servers and officers) to have a sip of champagne with you

I had a large DCL VR but it was amazing...PLEASE consider doing it..you will have an amazing time!

May I ask if you got married in Disney? My DH and I want to do a very small and simple vow renewal for our 25th anniversary during our Jan. trip. We are travelling with our two college age children and our DD's BF. We wanted to have our son be the best man, and daughter the maid of honor, the BF a witness. But we really don't want the minimum package.....it being more than we want to do. We really just want an officiant, the vows said, mad hatter wedding cake and champagne toast, with a bouquet for me and DD. Did you find a way to do your small ceremony on property without the minimum package? I see you had a planner. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I looked thru Patty's PJ. I was hoping to find some pictures of her VR. Do you know if she posted any anywhere.

I would sure love to see them or even talk to her as it may help me out a bit. Thanks so much DisneyDMBnut, for helping me to feel better. I guess I'm just worrying a bit to much, fixin' to hit the 6 month mark and worrying about it all being ok.....with the two of us. Thanks hon, I needed the uplifting! :)

there are A LOT of people that do just the two of them..look through that thread..there are others

Yes, we went through Disney for our wedding. The packages have changed some since then (2005) but the only thing we didn't need was the transportation.

We only had our 16 year old daughter there.. so she held my flowers and gave a toast, but our wedding coordinator did everything else. She held my bag, and guided us on cutting the cake. We didn't actually eat the cake there because it was an outside wedding and it was COLD that day.

As for the dance, I tell you, that was one of my favorite times. Just me, him and the violinist and the music. They let us dance as long as we wanted and it was really nice to just take a few minutes with each other and talk about the day!

the more i read "Just teh 2 of us" tr's the more I want a "Just the 2 of us" wedding!

I think its so ultra romantic, and the thought of dancing (well swaying in my case) without anyone watching is whats the most appealing (because were having guests were not doing one anyway) - and of course having the cake to just us does it for me he he

I think your thinking about it way too much (what bride doesnt) - I wouldnt worry, just ask questions on here and you are guaranteed an answer you will like the sound of and it will put your mind at rest

Thank you all for your kind words of encourgement as it has begun to make me feel so much more at ease.

Thanx Patty! You really calmed my wedding jitters!!! You helped me so much. Thank you :)

Thanx DisneyDMBNut for always being their when us girls on the boards needs a little nudge!! :)
