Just the Three of us - a tale of our first solo vacation
Friday Jan 20, We started our journey with a long drive. We always drive to Disney because I am not a good flyer lol. We were originally planning on arriving on sunday and checking in to Old key West but we decided to leave friday morning and get there on Saturday afternoon. We stopped for the night in Florence, SC. We have stayed here numerous times. We always stay at the Country Inn and Suites. Saturday morning we got up early and drove the rest of the way
Saturday Jan, 21st we checked in to Legacy Vacatoin Resorts for the night. the room was nice enough but there is no WAY I could stay there for the whole trip lol. We are spoiled by Old Key West lol. The room was such a weird layout. Sort of L shaped and when you opened the door to go out it blocked off the whole hallway. It was just a strange layout that had us always getting in each others way. We also did a little furniture rearranging in the "living room" area since you couldn't watch the TV from where the couch was lol why they planned it that way I have no idea. however, it was perfect for the night and we weren't far away from Downtown Disney. so that's where we headed next. I always look forward to passing through the "gate" to the property.
We ate at Earl of Sandwich for dinner. there was no one in line when we got there and hubby walked right up to the counter and ordered. Was pretty awesome lol. I got the Cannonballs sandwich (meatball) and I think hubby got the roast beef. They were good but I like the sandwich I had the first time better. I think it was a turkey club. But still... very good meal and I love how affordable it is. We got three sandwiches (PB for DD), 2 fruit cups and 2 sodas for $22. That's not bad. During our travels that night we happened upon a fairy godmother in training and DD got some pixie dust.
Thanks to the Dis I found out that we could get our AP's done here at DTD. that was so convenient and I had no idea that they would do that at the guest services there so... Thanks Dis'ers lol. This was a great experience. They were so quick and efficient with it and DD had great interaction with a cast member named Celia. She was wonderful. she chatted DD up the whole time and gave her stickers and basically kept her totally entertained the whole time we were getting the AP's printed. It was awesome and so appreciated. She will get a special mention in the letter to Disney
After that we headed back to the room so we could get some good rest for the next day at Magic Kingdom
Sunday Jan 22nd
We got up early. We were all awake by 6:45 am without the aid of an alarm lol. We packed up what we had in the room and headed over to OKW to check in. Of course our room wasn't ready yet but we expected that. So we told them to just text us when the room was ready and we were off to MK. We got there about 9:30 that morning and the crowds were very manageable. First thing DD wanted to do was Meet Characters. That was what we did for the majority of this trip lol which is A-OK with us.
We met Daisy
Then we met snow white. This was the BEST snow white interaction ever. The best snow white I've seen to date. If they make a live action movie, this girl should be snow white lol. We were told where she was meeting and so we were waiting there before she came out. there was another family with us with a little girl that was also wearing a snow white dress like DD. Our photopass Photographer was Alex. I remember him from our last trip, he's a very memorable guy lol. He was our photopass guy for snow white when we were there in September. While we waited for Snow White he played a little snow white trivia game with the kids and really helped the time pass quickly until Snow White came running over. Our DD and the other couples DD were so excited they both just ran to her before any of us could stop them LOL
it made for a very cute moment and I can't say enough about this Snow White. She looked as excited to meet those two little girls as they were to meet her lol.
A couple photos from this meet and greet because it was one of our most memorable and CUTE
Curtsey's
DD got a big red lipstick kiss lol this turned into a theme on this trip. she always had someone's lipstick on her cheek lol
We also met Pluto
