As some of you may have read already, I had a horrible experience happen on my Disney trip this past time-our bags were stolen. That kind of clouded the second half of my trip, but I can tell you that NOTHING can take away fully the magic of Disney and I am grateful for the experience, all of it! Even in the theft there was a lesson to be learned. So to help all of you planning to go soon, here's my short(and not as creative as Delswife
tirp report:
(always start with the bad news first, right)
LOWS-
-of course, the bags being stolen and Wyndham Palm's reaction or non-reaction thereof
-Paramount International Travel's inability to replace our character vouchers and their difficulty in being reached or located
-Spectromagic's change from Tuesday nite to Wednesday while we were there, after I had researched so much beforehand and gotten times when we got there that said Wednesday. Consequently, we missed the show and the kids were crushed.
-Wonderland Tea Party at Grand Floridian rising its prices to $30 and not notifying anyone-when I asked about it they said the prices changed 4 months ago. Well, when you make reservations and prices change after you make them, shouldn't they tell you?
-Primetime Cafe for my birthday-had a real dud of a waiter who barely spoke above a whisper and added NO merriment for the occasion. This was after my husband had told the host it was my birthday and I expected them to find an enthusiastic waiter for the occasion.
HIGHS-
-Wishes-the show we got to see instead of Spectro magic-Disney at its best! Great view down the middle of Main street too!
-Fantasmic-I got there an hour before and staked out some seats in the middle, close to the action, but not too close to get wet or burned by the fire! Great seats, although my bum was paralyzed by the end of the show!
-The tiara crown I got on my birthday at 1900 Park Fair-I wore it all day and got so many salutations! My daughter will wear it for her birthday next week!
-Typhoon Lagoon-the only place there wasn't many crowds and I really felt like I was on vacation, just lounging by the water. A great place to relax and breathe in the vacation for a minute.
-My son getting to drive the boat in the pirate cruise at Magic Kingdom-he was so excited!
-The Wonderland Tea Party(although overpriced) was great! The directors of that also did the Pirate Cruise for my son and they wwere full of Disney Magic. I highly recommend both of them.
-Philharmagic-a truly 4-D experience! I loved it.
Oh, and last but not least-
-Space MOuntain! I know I know, its old as molasis, but I am a roller coater scaredy-cat, and did it for the first time this trip and am a convert now! I love it love it love it. We also did splash mountain for the first time this time and I liked it a lot too, but that drop was a little much.
All in all, I obviously had more highs than lows. I have to say it was way more crowded than usual. we have gone every October and I really saw a difference this time. I really think also we have to space out our trips. THeres not that much new from year to year and I don't want to be jaded from doing the same things over and over. Maybe next year it will be the cruise! I was so in a Disney trance before this trip that with everything that happened, I now view Disney more realistically. Its a place where there is good people and bad people, good attractions and not so good, great customer service and not so great. I think thats a much more healthy way to look at Disney, and a way where I won't be sooooooooo utterly disapointed when it doesnt live up to my unrealistically high expectations. My husband is very happy about this change in my attitude! That means I dont bug him about our next trip the day after we come back now!
