After we did a little shopping we had some photos taken
and went over to Pixar Place to see some characters.
We got there right at then end of the Green Army Men show which was cute. Alexander and I got in line to see Buzz and Woody. We took some photos while waiting in line.
I would have liked to have taken a better picture of Alexander here but there was this kid in front of us who was blissfully unaware that people around him were taking pictures and kept getting in everyone's way. I didn't have the heart to ask him to move so this is the best picture I got.
Finally we made it to Buzz and Woody and got autographs and pictures.
Maybe it was because of the long line, but these two were the most boring characters to meet. Come to think of it, I don't think we've ever had great character interaction from either of them in all of our years of going to WDW. Oh well, we still have to see them every year.
As we left the building we saw some Green Army Men. We've never met them before and Alexander was really looking forward to seeing them. Dave was interested in seeing them too but he and Mia were nowhere to be found. There was no line for the Army Men so Alexander ran right up to one (there were three I believe) and got his autograph and picture. He was so quick about it I barely had time to get a picture.
Dave finally showed up right after we saw the Green Army Man and got to see them for himself.
We went over to the Great Movie Ride and thought about riding it. We got in line and stayed there for about 10 minutes and the line was barely moving. I absolutely hate the queue here and the way they have the two different lines intertwining with each other. None of us really like the ride too much and we just didn't feel like waiting in there any longer so we left the line.
Our fastpass time was up for RnR and we started heading that way. We stopped on the way to get fastpasses for Tower of Terror. Of course we had to do some photopass pics too.
Alexander was told to hold his hand up again and he still had no idea why he was doing it but he played along.
You can tell by the look on his face he had no idea why he was doing that.
Dave and Alexander rode RnR first while I stayed out and played with Mia. She alternated between trying to play in the garden behind the wall and sitting and coloring in my little notebook.
The boys came off the ride and had their picture taken
I have to say that I am so proud of Dave that he rides thrill rides now. When we first got married he wouldn't even think of riding a rollercoaster. Then he decided to try some Dramamine and it worked wonders for him. Now he can ride anything and loves all the thrill rides.
Then it was time for me and Alexander to ride. Okay, truth be told, I'm not a fan of RnR. I hate the cheesy intro with Aerosmith, who I don't really like in the first place. And, maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I think the ride itself is so jerky that it gives me a headache every time. But, it's still something I want to ride at least once every trip just to say I did it.
So we rode it, I left with a headache, and we had our picture taken.
By then we were all pretty hungry, me more so than everyone else since I didn't get any breakfast.
So we crossed the park (we did a lot of park criss-crossing that day) to eat at Pizza Planet. We've never eaten there before and I thought Alexander would get a kick out of it. We all got pizzas of course and sat on the second story above all the games. It was a good lunch and I actually really like the pizza they serve around WDW.
After lunch we went back over to the other side of the park to ride ToT. While I don't really like RnR I absolutely love ToT and could ride it all day long. We got a rider swap and Alexander and I rode together.
Dave and Alexander really wanted to see Lights, Motor, Action and only had about 10 minutes to get to the show after we came off the ride so they took off to try to make it in. I wasn't interested in seeing it so I took Mia to see Playhouse Disney again. We had 15 minutes to make it to the show and it was closer so I thought we had plenty of time. Wouldn't you know it, right as I was getting Mia out of the stroller I noticed she needed a diaper change, now!
So I found a bathroom and changed her as quickly as I could so that we could make it to see Playhouse Disney.
We made it right in time and pretty much sat in the same place as we had the few days prior. While we were waiting for the show to start there was a little boy right in front of us who was not happy. He was probably really tired but I was so happy he wasn't my kid right then. I looked over at my little girl who was sitting as sweet and quietly as could be. Of course it could have so easily been the other way around and Mia could have been the one being a nightmare. But I really was happy that she was being so well behaved.
Mia enjoyed the show just as much as she had last time and had fun singing, dancing, and clapping along. After the show we still had a little time before LMA was over so we did a little shopping. I had been looking everywhere for a stuffed Mickey for Mia but I had a certain size that I wanted to get her. I had found extra large ones that were too big and others that were too small and I had found a Minnie that was the right size but I really wanted to get a Mickey. There was a store right across from Playhouse Disney that had the perfect Mickey! I was excited, LOL.
I got the Mickey and went to pay for it and waited and waited and waited. There was only one guy in front of us but he just kept asking the CM at the register question after question about where can he find this and where do they sell that. Ugh, it was so irritating.
Finally another CM came up and I thought she was going to check me out. She just stood there and I asked her if I could check out. She smiled at me and took my Mickey. Then she just stood there hugging Mickey and telling me how much she loved him and how soft he was. Um, I know lady that's why I'm buying him for my daughter, not you. Then she took him and walked away. I just kind of stared at her as she walked to the other side of the store. She didn't say "follow me" or "I'll check you out over here". She just took Mickey and left us standing there. I thought maybe I had done something wrong and she was confiscating Mickey. Nope, she just went to a different register. It was all so...weird.
I paid for Mickey and finally got to give him to Mia. Mia was in love.
She hugged Mickey, clapped his hands, fed him, gave him a drink from her sippy cup, and more. She was a happy little girl. We still have "conversations" with Mickey every day.
By this time LMA was over and we met up with Dave and Alexander. I wasn't with them but it looks like they had photopass pictures taken after LMA.
We started heading back to ToT for Dave and Alexander to ride but stopped at Starring Rolls first and got a banana pudding dessert and tea for everyone to share. I think the dessert was called a banana split but it was more pudding like and had layers of pudding, caramel, cookie wafers, and whipped cream, with some nuts on top. It was so delicious and I wish I had taken a picture of it. Needless to say, we all scarfed it down quickly.
While everyone was sharing the dessert I went in one of the stores and looked at the other Dooney & Bourke purses. I was so quick to buy mine at DTD I didn't see if they had any of the other styles. I think they're all cute but I'm so happy I got the sketch pattern. I'd really like to have the navy one too but I'm just not sure if I need two different Dooney Disney purses.
Finally we made it over to ToT for the boys to ride and I did a little more shopping for Mia. We found an Ariel phone and Minnie Mouse dress up set that's kind of like Polly Pockets. I hate that Minnie Mouse set because it's so hard to dress Minnie. But Mia loves it so I dress and undress Minnie every day.
After Dave and Alexander rode ToT, Alexander just had to do some shopping too. He bought a bucket of Toy Story green aliens and I found a cute little dress for Mia which you'll see in the pictures on our Magic Kingdom day.
We were about to leave when we saw that the Block Party Bash was about to start. We never really go out of our way to see parades or fireworks, but if we're in the area when they are about to start we'll stop and watch for a little while. We wound up watching most of it but we were all ready to leave before it ended.
We left and got back to the hotel and I got Mia to sleep while the boys went to the pool.
I'll stop it here for now. Up next - Dave and Alexander's experience at the pool and their evening together at Animal Kingdom.
