Welcome to my Trip Report!
I have a Pretrip Report here, but so much changed in our plans, that I thought it would be better to just start a new one for the actual trip.
So, to get you up to speed, we'll start with the basics.
Cast of Characters
- Me! The Master Planner! 34-year-old part-time student/full-time mom to 3 kids. I am the biggest Disney fan in the house.
- DH - also 34 years old - Although he went to Disneyland as a kid, his first trip to WDW was in 2009 with our family. He had to work for part of the trip, but he still had a good time.
- DD (10) - This sweet girl LOVES Pooh! She's also just getting into thrill rides, so it's been really fun introducing her to the wilder side of Disney this year!
- DS (8) - This guy has a lot of enthusiasm at times, but can get really overwhelmed easily due to his anxiety disorder. It's a full-time job trying to keep him calm and happy, but worth it when he has a great time!
- DS (5) - Our little guy can be a real handful! He takes "boy" to the extreme, and knows just how to push everyone's buttons. But his smile is contagious, and so is his enthusiasm for all things Disney!
- Adding a little extra magic to our trip was Mom-Mom (DH's mother), who joined us on our trip this year. She's never been to Florida or WDW (although she did go to Disneyland over 20 years ago), and was thrilled to be invited with us this year!
When was our trip?
We know how to have fun! So we drove from PA to FL. We left PA on June 11, and arrived in Orlando June 12. We said goodbye to FL on June 20th, and returned home to PA June 21.
What made this trip different/special?
Aside from having Mom-Mom join us, this trip was different because WE were in charge. On all of our past trips, we've traveled with MY family - who are Disney experts. It was very different planning this trip on our own.
We also took advantage of the Disney YES (Youth Education Series) this year. It was a very affordable way for us to get park tickets, plus the kids learned a few things as well. More on that later...
Here we are!
This photo is from our trip 2 years ago, so the kids are a lot younger than they are now! But it's one of my favorites!
