We used code AZZ to book CBR for our Sept trip, but upon reading various reviews and the huge size of CBR we decided to switch to POR. My wife likes the atmosphere of POR and my DD loves boats so the boat to DTD should be a hit. We requested two connecting rooms in Magnolia Terrace. I think we will like POR just as well as CBR.

Did I make a mistake on changing or was it a good choice?

But we love POR and would go back in a heartbeat!!! Have no plans to ever return to CBR.

The landscape is lush and rustic on AB and the gardens are beautiful on Mansion. Walk all around on the paths and enjoy all the details. The boat to DTD is great as well as all the amenities at this resort.

I think you'll have a wonderful trip !

I think you will be very happy at POR. It is my favorite. When we went last September we tried CBR because we wanted to try something new. It was also a great resort but I still prefer POR and will be staying there again in Sept. 05. We always stay in the bayou section and love it. The boat to DTD is fantastic and so relaxing in the evening. I think you will love it! Have a great time!

Our family hated CBR but loved PO. (both R and FQ). IMHO, you should enjoy it! (it is great taking the boat to DD, plus you don't have to walk forever just to get a coffee in the morning!)

I don't know how someone can say they HATE CBR!! We just came back last week and loved everything about it! Our kids never wanted to leave the resort, even to go to the parks! I stayed at POFQ and did'nt love it but would never say I HATED it! How can you hate anything about Disney!;)
I have'nt stayed at POR but it looks nice. Have fun.:)

We found CBR to be toooooo BIG. Your experience really depends on where your room is located. We were in South Trinidad and my kids(4 & 5) would have nothing to do with walking that distance to go to eat, swim or just hang around. Also made the value mugs not much of a value. We are returning some time in May and are looking into POFQ as well. :wave2: princess: princess:

We were in Trinidad South too and still loved it. We had a 6 yr old, a 5 yr. old AND two 1.5 yr. olds and they ALL loved the walk. They fed the ducks every morning and we had little bunnies crossing our path. The walk was'nt THAT far, we did'nt think. We can't wait to go back!! But to each his own!!
Also, how can the refillable mugs NOT be a good deal? You pay $11.00 for the mug and refill it the WHOLE time your there which for us was 9 days. We must have filled it at least 50 times!!

I've stayed at both and much prefer POR. I like the meandering walkways, the laid back peaceful feeling of POR. I like everything about POR. The Magnolia Terrace is just over the bridge to Ole Man Island where the theme pool is and a pleasant walk to the food court, restaurant and lounge. The added option of boating to DTD is a definate advantage. You did not make a mistake in switching. Your family will love POR. Enjoy!:) :)

What I meant buy the mugs not being a value was because our kids didn't make the walk to get them refilled. I did not mean to offend you. Like you said "to each his own". I suggest every one go to a web site where you can view a map of the resort and judge for yourself. You know your family best. :wave2: princess: princess:

We love, love, love CBR and we never thought it was too large - we have stayed in Aruba, Martinique and last May in Jamaica (our favorite) - if you like the feel of the tropics, then this is the place for you. We never had to walk more than 5-10 minutes to get anywhere at all. . . however, this year we decided to check out CSR for a few nights also and see how we like it - we actually visited POR and although it is lovely, the atmosphere/setting is not for us. . .if you are staying long enough, you could always think about splitting your stay - just an idea:)

I dont think you can go wrong with either one, thay are both great in their own way.....I just think its a mattert of theming....which do you prefer? Turn of the century New Orleans or Bahamas? I stayed at both and LOVED both! I think they are both the same size, same set up, lots of little buildings around a huge lake.....But at either we only had to walk no more than 5 minutes to get to the main food and pool area, and the landscaping make the walks so enjoyable at both.
