Just switched from 1 room at POR to 2 rooms at Pop...Please tell me we will be happy!

Did anyone suggest a family suite at ASMusic? I have stayed at all the properties mentioned- POR, ASSp, POP and the family suites. The suites are great. Separate bedroom, two bathrooms, sleeper sofa, chair and ottoman. And then you get a microwave, sink and refrigerator. That would be my suggestion, we went with 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 8 yr olds and a baby and had plenty of room. I would give it a try

I agree.

(*Note:Disney will not guarantee connecting rooms so if you really want to be sure you can stay together a Family Suite will keep your family together. If you do not mind two seperate rooms than two rooms should be fine.)

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

We are also family of 5 - 2 adults and kids aged 17, 11, 9. This year I booked 2 rooms at ASMU then changed to 1 at POR. (CMS never tried to talk me out of it) I stayed at POP last year and the landscaping was lacking for my tastes, ....... I love plants and lush greenery and there was too much concrete for my liking. ... .

I love the landscaping at All Star Music!
I agree that Pop has too much concrete.

Here are a few photos of the lanscaping at All Star Music:

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

I have really had my heart set on staying at POR for our WDW vacation next month, however after talking to a CM last week who suggested for the ages of our children (13 and 5) and that our party of 5 had 3 adults, that we not stay at POR. She said if I had booked with CRO rather then online they more then likely would not have booked me the room and since this was our first WDW trip she did not want us to be miserable in one 315 square room. After thinking it over for a week, I broke down and booked two rooms at POP. The cost was $245 more the one room at POR with the 40% code I had, but with my mom's medical condition and the fact she uses a nebulizer every 2 hours at night, I went with two rooms at POP for more privacy and room.
I'm very excited to be going to Disney at all, however I've been planning this trip for 2 years and have had my heart set on POR the entire time. Please tell me that POP will be just as great :confused3

Just to let you know, Alligator Bayou does fit 5 people in it (and the 5 yr old could've slept in the trundle bed just fine) but I do agree with your particular situation that 2 rooms will be better. Either that or ASM suite.

I think you made a good choice! You can still visit all the other resorts.

It would have been my 13 year old nephew sleeping on the trundle bed as he would never sleep with grandma, he is at that age :rotfl: ;)
I'm happy now that I went with two rooms, I think two bathrooms and the extra space will be nice. Not to metion the privacy my mom needs/wants for her nebulizer treatments at night.

The only thing I dont like about the family suites is there is only one "bed" the others are a fold out sofa or chair. My kids dont like that. they have slept on them more than once and have never liked them.

I agree.

with the one room at POR vs. 2 rooms at value....
I have looked into the suites at the values and found them to be quite
pricey... for some of us that are looking for budget trips...

does anyone else feel the same way ?

Thanks for the suggestions however there are NO suites open during our stay. I checked into that prior to booking the two rooms at POP.
