Well, I don't make those decisions, but after 20 years in the business with these two, I don't think it could ever happen. Not that it couldn't, but Disney wouldn't for several reasons. If they meant anything from their comments, it was more than likely for bits and pieces, not entire entities. Example, the music group would be of interest, but it's very unlikely that it would come out of the Entertainment group.
Secondly, the way Universal now has the Entertainment group structured, it's much more likely that this group will spin off on it's own with new ownership. I would put my money on that coming from somewhere else. There's a few interesting names that seem to be in the mix, some of them are already in the organization.
This is an unique business. It's not as simple as one company buying or ownng another as in other industries. I remember when Disney was supposed to be days away from being broken up back in the eighties. It's just one of those things to sit back and relax and see what happens. I have money in both of these companies, (of course not it's not what it used to be). I'm thinking that one day the bigger shakeup will be at Disney. Who knows. I've got my chaise lounge out by the pool ....
