to DVC for 185 points @ SSR and have a few questions.

It said on the paper work that the projected close date was July 13th. What happens next? Will we be notified when we actually close? Will it be via email or snail mail?

How long does it take to get your permanent DVC membership card? How long to recieve ourn PIN nimbers? It's killing me not being able to access the Member website!

Thanks,
Dennis-

It literally takes minutes to get into the system. Call your guide and ask for your member IDs. They won't be able to tell you your PIN, but you can call member services, then hit option 1, then option 4 for tech support. They will ask for your member id, and some other qualifying info, and then give you your PIN. You then can log into the site and create your password and member name, etc.

The minute you gave the guide your credit card number over the phone, was the minute you were a member. :)

Hope this helps.

We were told on May 14 that our projected close date was June 13. Well, I called at another point in time and found out that we closed on May 28. I was a bit surprised by the quick turn around. I am glad I checked too, because we wanted to pay off the loan before interest started accruing.

We did not get notified at all about the actual closing because Disney recognizes you from the time they receive the signed papers for the most part. (We signed at Disney)

As for permanent membership cards, we are still waiting on ours.

You can also search the Orange County Florida deed record search website, to see if your deed has been registered.

http://www.occompt.com/disclaimer.html

Click on "accept", and then type in your name (last name, first name).

If you find your deed - it's been registered. About 10 days after the deed was registered, we received a letter from Disney Vacation Development advising us our deed was registered (and about two months later receiving a copy of the registered deed).

Thanks OntFamily! I haven't seen this yet. :thumbsup2 It's pretty cool finding our deeds there. I feel so excited to see them! Like we're real people now.:cool1:

Thanks Scott... I called MS today and they issued me a pin number and I am now able to access the Member Site!:thumbsup2

The "closing" is just the date that DVC sends the deed in for recordation with the county, which also triggers the finalization of your contract so no further changes can be made. Keep in mind, though, that if DVC has all of your paperwork in order, it can actually send the deed in earlier, making your contract effective earlier than the stated date. You will receive your title policy and recorded deed about a month after your closing, but you should receive your membership cards within the next couple weeks. Hope that helps! Congratulations and welcome home! :goodvibes

Note the original post date....this thread is almost 2 years old. Hope Dennis is enjoying his DVC membership!
