People often ask us about how we can go to Disney so often.

I normally explain that it is a combination of DVC, which leads to a discount on APs. Previously, the AP has led to purchasing TiW, but not in the past year or so since we currently have Platinum Plus APs.

Having been a frequent traveler in the past, between some hotel discounts and some point programs, I can normally get a decent price for off-site hotels. While we normally spend our DVC points on a weeklong trip once a year, we do make several long weekend trips as well. Our AP gets us free parking, and while we do love on the on-site experience, I am ok with staying off-site as well.

However, I just learned about a discount airline offering cheap tickets. I won’t mention the airline as I do not want to run the risk of advertising, but the long and short of it, I was just able to score a great two day trip, mid-week trip in early December.

First I was able to get Plane Tickets for about $20 each way. I think it was $22 one way, and $24 for the return trip. Second, we had 25 points left, and I was able to get a night at the Poly for 20 points. The only caveat was that I had to pay a $13 seat fee per seat each way. They also have a bag fee, but for an overnight trip, we can fit our clothes in two laptop bags, which have no fee. But in short, for about $150, I got round trip airfare, and a night at the hotel. Since we are staying on property, we can get the Magical Express, so my transportation costs in Orlando are also $0.

I am very excited, despite realizing we will probably spend more on dinner than the rest of trip.

You can say the airline. I'm guessing Frontier? I've frequently used them for cheap trips to Orlando, the best one was a few years ago, a 2 night trip just for MNSSHP for my daughter and I. Flights were $15 pp each way, total of $60. I spent almost that much just to park at the airport!

Have fun, it's a good feeling to score such a good deal!

Yes, Frontier. My doctor told me about it. Yes, she got four tickets each for the family at about $15. They literally did a one day trip for $120, plus an uber to/from the airport. They surprised the kids when they work them up that morning. i can only imagine the conversation at school the next day.

I wish Frontier flew near my home airport I'd love to get those deals

Frontier has had some excellent Black Friday deals for the past two years.

In 2016 we scored round trip airfare from Detroit to Orlando for under $200 for four of us and that price included joining the Discount Den for $50 and sending our 1 suitcase under for $35.

I really wasnt sure about flying with them but for the price there was no way I was turning it down. It ended up being a great flight on a new plane with decent, friendly staff.

I would fly them again in a heart beat

We are flying with them for the first time next Saturday. RT tickets from philly for $140 a person for thanksgiving week was too good to pass up.
Will the deals they have on Black Friday only be for certain dates and airports. We’ll be at Disney that day but I’d definitely check them out if we might be able to use them!

Frontier out of Louisville?

I am not sure but I know that the prices were substantially better out of Detroit than they were out of Buffalo for us and that is why we flew out of Detroit. We are in Canada but it was worth the drive for the price

We just booked frontier! We weren’t planning another trip this year but got 3 of us round trip for $300 - no dvc rooms were available so we booked ap discount room for 7nts at $100nt. Thrilled!

I think if you know the rules for Frontier (overhead baggage costs extra, seat assignment costs extra etc) and treat it like a bus ride rather than a luxury you will be fine.

We were expecting the worst and honestly my personal experience was better than I could ever have thought. The seats for our flight were a nice size too. I had just flown Air Canada Rouge a few months before and those seats were super tight in comparison.

That is exactly what I told my wife. In my case, I am a former New Yorker (that is the NY part of my ID) that now lives in Charlotte. I was a frequent flyer on Jet Blue before the move, and kinda used up all those miles on a few trips back to NY to visit family. Jet Blue does not have any direct CLT to MCO flights anyway.

We normally drive, both to NY and to Orlando for family and Disney respectively. After hearing about Frontier, I was able to book this two day trip. I am expecting nothing except a seat and a reasonable arrival time. It is a short trip, about an hour and a half. I don't need any food, or anything to drink. I can stuff a change of clothes and toiletries inside my laptop bag. I am keeping my fingers crossed. If this works out well, I can see us using this for more trips in the future!

We take that flight from CLT to MCO several times a year. It's not bad.
