Just saw the new GCV models

The dining room table layout looks interesting and different than other DVCs. Can anyone who's been in the models explain how it works? Is it two on each side and one on each end = 6? Couldn't tell if the wrap around on the end could fit a person, and does the coffee table have a cushion on it and that's the 6th seat? And then are there 2 more chairs at the kitchen counter?

When we saw the model, they said things could change in furniture, and arrangement. The ottoman was the 6th seat from what I remember. I recall bench seating on the back side. I don't remember what kind if seat was against the sliding pantry shelf wall.

The models are located directly adjacent to the Sales Office behind the DL hotel.

I got a chance to tour the GCV models and they're gorgeous. I purchased AKV though because I live only 15 minutes away from DL.

NOpe, Just show up at the DVC offices (next to the model) and show your member card. They will call someone to give you a tour of the models (which are right outside). The models were closed recently for re-tooling, so I would call first to see if they are open. Have fun!

The models actually closed on 9/30. Some have heard that it is a temporary closure and others that it is permanent. In either case you'll want to check with the Preview Center before heading over there.

If the models are open you just have to show up. No advance arrangements are necessary. DD16 and I visited them when we were in CA recently and we both loved them!

We toured the model in July - I loved it, DH not so much. More my style, I guess. DVC offices are located in a really unique looking building - I am horrible with directions, so can't tell you exactly where. The model was in a small "cottage" next door. DVC seems pretty new over there. No offense, just not as well-oiled a machine as their Orlando counterparts. The childcare CM actually gave us the "tour" - so she was unable to answer many questions. I was impressed with the decor, DH didn't think it was "themed" enough. Then again, he is not as crazy about GC. Personal taste, I guess.

We probably would not buy there, but we would stay there. The points are too high to justify staying at GC, in DH's opinion, but he would stay in the DVC side. I grew up going to DL, so I have more affection for the whole area than he does!
