Just got out of the Golden Mickeys, and it truly rivals Disney Dreams (and believe me, I don't say that lightly). We'll post a full report with photos (taken flash-free) when we return, but here are some quick highlights:
The theme is an awards show, with various segments such as Romance and Villians. The theme is used as a plot device to introduce a dazzling array of songs and characters from Disney movies such as Tarzan, Pochohantas, Snow White, Mulan, and Sleeping Beauty.
I really liked how the show began, with an intro. by Roy Disney and a neat segment on the history of Walt and his studio.
Some of the numbers that were real highlights were Snow White (which made great use of screens to make it look like she was really in the forest), Mulan with stick fight sequence, Tarzan with vine climbing, and a cool Toy Story number. Best of all, two of my favorite characters, Stitch and Cruella DeVille, make appearances.
I have to run, as my time is running out (I'm doing the "buy 5 minutes, get 5 free special!), but I wanted to tantilize everyone and let you all know that you're in for a real treat with this show. I halfway wish I could skip dinner to see it again...oh well, at least we'll be back in Nov. The Golden Mickeys is Disney at its best!
