Just saw this movies two weeks before the release date courtesy of DVC. Most expensive "free" movie ever but it was a pretty cool perk.

Loved the movie!

I can't wait to see this! How did you see it with DVC? I haven't been on the website and I really need to add another email address because I never get any emails from them....

I was at the 4:30 show. My whole family thought the movie was terrific! :thumbsup2

I just posted about this on another site. I saw the movie today. the movie was great, the sneak previews we saw made me want to see those movies NOW.
If you are going to Sunday's preview bring a sweater. I heard more people talking about how cold the building was than about how the movie was.

I know cameras aren't allowed at the previews... Are people able to check their bags, or is it better to not bring them at all?

They'll ask you to check all electronic equipment when you enter the building. They'll put them in a plastic bag and hand you a numbered ticket. Be sure to check ALL of your electronics because they wand you before you enter the main room. The wand picked up my remote entry keychain in my pocket, but they didn't force me to check it. :)

We saw the 1:00pm show Saturday and all four of us (two age 25, one age 19, one age 55) HATED it. Terrible acting - especially James Franco. Mila Kunis tried but her part as one of the wicked sisters was just awful. Poor Michelle Williams had a frozen look on her face for most if the movie, like she knew it was terrible, but what could she do about it?

We also spent a lot of time talking about the plot - just dumb for the most part - the characters, none of them very likeable - and the sidekicks! If they based it on the book they were stuck but watching James Franco try to act with an animated china doll a foot high was just creepy.

Ugh - we just hated it. So disappointing.

This has been my expectation from the trailers. My son wants to see it though.

I also saw it yesterday and agree with Liz. I did not care for it much. I really did not like James Franco as the wizard at all. Just no chemistry between the actors. Visually though I loved it.

What is the fascination with James Franco anyway? Is it because he was on General Hospital for a while?

We also saw it on Saturday at 1. But we loved it. Very nice surprise. I didint expect academy award winning performances from of movie of this genre. I thought the movie was really well done

Can you guys shed some light on the word "Free" that the OP used? We are going there next week and have this setup to see it one day at the dine in AMC....is there some special rate or something for DVC??

DVC did some screenings for members which required pre-registration. Those screenings were free to attend. The ones at Epcot at WDW did require theme park admission. They also held some at the AMC at Downtown Disney in CA. To my knowledge, there are no more DVC screenings for OZ scheduled.

Several years ago when we were at WDW for the marathon, they were offering one free showing of Miracle (Kurt Russell, US Olympic Hockey team). It was a similar set up. It wasn't a complete film with all the credits and stuff, but the film was pretty much complete. We also had to let them know if we had any electronic stuff (and most people didn't carry their big flip phones with them all the time) so we had none. It was a free showing and you had to have the coupon from the marathon Expo.

Don't remind me! :scared1: I'm still trying to recover from that horrid storyline which he called acting on my beloved GH!
Although how were DVC members chosen to get into the FREE screening of the movie? I have not heard or seen anything on this.

Many of those that got the e-mail invite were locals. There were a number of people at WDW for the Princess 1/2 marathon that also got the invite. So it appears they also sent invites to members that had reservations during the time the screenings took place (2/23 & 2/24 at Epcot).

Is it in the same style as the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland? My wife and I found that movie weird.

That's nice of them to offer this perk! :thumbsup2 Will or have they offered to us West Coast DVC members for a So Cal screening? popcorn:: I was at DLR last weekend (AP holder) and they had an AIR balloon out for advertisment of the movie - they passed out buttons & let some people float around alittle on it as well for only an hour.

DVC held a screening at the AMC Downtown Disney at Disneyland.
