Just road mine train!

I've heard some comments about how it will not be a comfortable fit for tall and pooh sized guests. Can anybody attest to that?

Glad you got to ride :thumbsup2...Can't wait to ride it during our "childless" December trip for 5 days!

Youngest DS will be entering college in August!:woohoo:

Your post "got me thinking" about the Disney College Program as a possible fit for our son next summer after completing his freshman year....

What do you think set your daughter apart in receiving a job offer for the Program?
I am not familiar with the program, but would imagine that it is HIGHLY COMPETITIVE! When did your daughter apply?

Thanks for any info!:) Hope your daughter has a GREAT EXPERIENCE!:wizard:

Leaving in just a few hours, and am hoping for some pixie dust pixiedust:to help us ride it before we leave on Tuesday!

There are 2 defined seats and 2 separate lap bars so it will be 2 to a row.

There were all different shapes and sizes in the queue with us yesterday and all seemed fine. The seats to me felt far roomier than for example barnstormer

Sorry, I was providing context for their mood about other rides (BTMRR, RSR and Barnstormer) but I'm trying to decide about SDMT. I am under the impression that it is only 2 people to a row.

Ohh... got it.

You gotta do SDMT! I guess sit with your youngest.

I found the seat to be on the narrow side (both in the seat itself, the lapbar, and the storage room on the floor)

We did not get to MK until later this evening. Mine train was running as we walked by around 10:10 PM. Spoke to CM who said the ride closed at 10 PM but only CMs were riding at that time. She also told me that they opened it twice that day to the general public. It was opened around 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM but for less than half an hour. She said it is all dependent on the "whim of the ride manager" as to who can ride and when.

Why are they being so stingy with this soft opening? I was at DHS a few years ago when the new version of Star Tours soft opened, and it seemed to be open to anyone all day long for a whole week.

This almighty "ride manager" seems to be getting too big for his britches. And what kind of customer service is it when they let CMs ride during park operating hours, while they shut out guests??

Jerseygal... Well I don't know for sure since this was her thing and I really wasn't involved with her applying. I'm not used to my baby girl being so far away!

What I can offer and know she did was research some of the questions they ask and have well thought out answers. There is a lot of information online about the program, so just do a little googling and you should be set.

Good luck!

We're a family of 3. Can we ride in one row together?

I'm guessing no. Previous poster listed it as two defined seats and separate lap bars. If that is the case you would not be able to ride with 3 in a row.

They've been telling guests this is NOT a soft opening that they are testing and need full cars sometimes.

I'm 5'0" and 110 pounds and I thought it was a snug fit. But people of different sizes seemed to fit okay.

So, plan A will be to have DD9 ride alone and me ride with DD6 on a morning FP+ in case we have to go to plan B. Plan B is that DD9 turns into nervous nellie and exercises her veto power, we let the FP+ expire :sad1: and try to get FP for something else instead.

Did anyone see someone transfer from a wheelchair or see a car that seemed to have modification for an easy transfer - like Everest or Thunder?

I was in Magic Kingdom on Monday 5/19 from opening til 1:00pm and it wasn't running at all the several times we walked by. I was back on Wednesday from 6pm to 9:30- it was running like crazy but every time we walked by we were told it was for Cast Members only. It was along the lines of "The Manager decides when to let day guests on and some were let on earlier today, but he has left for the day so no day guests will be getting on." I was back on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 for one last shot before leaving for home. At 3:05 I was told by an agitated Cast Member "It is Cast Members only- some guests are standing out here in the hot sun thinking they are going to get in when there are many other OPEN rides they could be riding!" I walked back by not 5 minutes later on the way to Philharmagic and regular guests were flowing in so I jumped in at the end of the line and got in. I tried not to glare at the agitated Cast Member who not 5 minutes earlier had told me "Cast Members Only"! And they wonder why people continue to just hang around at the entrance........:confused3

Annoying indeed.
So...what did you think of the ride?
