Just road mine train!

So this is like a bit longer version of Barnstormer? It sounds like the effects are nice.

I don't think that does the theming justice (based solely on my personal observations of the exterior at least). Ride duration is reported to be slightly over 2 minutes I believe--Barnstormer is just under 1.

Barnstormer is that short?

I expect the theming to be very nice. I was just wondering how wild the ride was. :)

I am happy others are getting to ride but sad that I just got back from WDW on Sunday and was so disappointed to not get a ride. :( Something to look forward to on the next trip!

I have on-ride video from leaving the station to the brakes that is around 50 seconds. Most people can hold their breath longer than that.

So . . . DD9 is nervous about BTMRR (liked Barnstormer) and didn't like Radiator Springs Racers, and DD6 feels the same way (but hasn't done Barnstormer). There is only 1 parent to ride, WWYD? Mom ride with DD6 and DD9 has to get brave enough to ride in the adjacent row, or skip it?

A quick recap of the ride...I walked by 3 times today and listening carefully to what the CM's were telling guests, mainly that it was a CM only day. The last time I walked by, on our way to Peter Pan fp's, a steady stream if people seemed to be running in. So I went over and an older management type CM, said get in line, he was about to close the line. I couldn't believe our luck, I'm never in the right place when I need to!

The ride is very cute, and I'd say it's just as described, somewhere between Barnstormer and BTMRR. It's very smooth and quiet running. The scenes are very well done. I was lucky that behind us was a CM, riding with a guest, and he was pointing out things as we went along, mainly the scene at the end inside of the dwarfs's cottage. Can't wait to ride it again.

We are here to bring our 19 year old daughter to begin the Disney College Program. I was so happy to ride it before we left. I think she's a little jealous because I ride it before her, but I don't know what she's complaining about. She gets to go into the Utilidors in a couple of days, I'm jealous!

Was there today and the ride was running all day as far as i could see. However they didnt let anyone in, just people with special passes (dont ask me which ones) and cast members. I guess if youre lucky they open the line for a few minutes but i kept a decent eye on it and i wasnt one of the lucky few.

Went on today, I think we got in line around 5:30-40 is because we got out at around 6ish. It's cute, the swinging element isn't very visible, but you can feel it for sure! I was expecting something tamer, so I was pleased when it wasn't quite so tame. Not as crazy as big thunder, but just a step below. Think disneyland Matterhorn which is about equL in intensity, but this is smoother. Queue is amazing. We got very lucky, we were walking from tomorrowland into fantasy land when we noticed a huge rush over, we of course followed. The manager told the girl behind us that it would only be open for a minute or so. We lucked out indeed! :cool1:

We did not get to MK until later this evening. Mine train was running as we walked by around 10:10 PM. Spoke to CM who said the ride closed at 10 PM but only CMs were riding at that time. She also told me that they opened it twice that day to the general public. It was opened around 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM but for less than half an hour. She said it is all dependent on the "whim of the ride manager" as to who can ride and when.

Hoping for a soft opening ride on Saturday.. but still have our FPs for the official opening day...

Like what I'm hearing so far!!!! Can't wait!!!!

True. We were there during the opening in the morning and the line was cut directly in front of us. The the manager - the guy in the purple shirt, those who were there yesterday will know who he is! - actually let someone else in from the side and one of my very disappointed kids said "hey, we were here before them!" The guy went on to explain how they had been there since the ride started and he knew that for a fact as they had been standing with him. Well they weren't there when he cut the line, and we were but he would not let us on.

Came back several times throughout the day and were outright lied to that they were not doing any more testing that day. Reading on the boards that more people were let on throughout the day, and the line was open for about 30 minutes around 5:10. We left the park disappointed at 3. Overall a very bad experience. Was told by a CM they like to select people randomly for magical moments. I told her it was very un-magical for those who weren't chosen.

Let me stress... We tried not to let it, but it ruined our day, and taught my kids a lesson in 'unfairness'. Not something you want to experience on a Disney trip.

I would not skip it. BTMRR is a great ride. It may be possible for all 3 of you to ride together -- if they are on the smaller side.

Good luck!

Sorry, I was providing context for their mood about other rides (BTMRR, RSR and Barnstormer) but I'm trying to decide about SDMT. I am under the impression that it is only 2 people to a row.
