Just returned from the most AMAZING week we have ever had!!

I can not begin to tell you how much we loved the WLV. We were in room 2517 which was just a perfect location, you walked out our door to be greeted by that beautiful Christmas tree in the atrium area. Our view from the balcony and bedroom was of the Lodge and to the right was the quiet pool. It was right next to the elevators but we heard nothing. The room was in great condition, but then again, I never notice anything because I am always in awe of our DVC accomodations LOL!

I purchased a fleecey Wilderness Lodge blanket and sat in one of the leather rocking chairs in front of the fireplace in the Iron Spike Room and read magazines and took a cat nap for about 2 hours. Something I have never done on vacation. We just loved it there so much. Every time we walked in, I got a lump in my throat.

We drove to every other park besides the MK but never had any wait longer than 5 minutes for a boat coming or going.

My only complaint is that I wish the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile was bigger and they had more WL merchandise. We went to AK Lodge and it was huge!!

We went to GF, Poly, Contemporary, YC & BC, Boardwalk and AK Lodge to video tape the decorations and the lobbies and I have to say that we liked the WL the best. Every one was beautiful, but it just a totally different feel. The candy displays and gingerbread house were awesome!!

We'll be arriving at the VWL in less than three weeks. This will be our first stay there. We done several times at OKW, twice at BCV, once at BWV and once at VB. I hope we have a great time, too.

Thanks for the terrific trip report and glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. Can you imagine trying to explain to the "average" person that you went to WDW in Florida and curled up by the fire with a blanket. The magic of DVC!

We were at VWL last December. December is such a wonderful time to visit the resorts. Wish we were there again this year. (insert "crying" smilie here - you'd think in the 77 smilies provided that there would be one crying).
