I don't post very often but I read a lot of the posts and go to WDW alot. If I can help any one out with questons please ask. Our trip was great with 10 days of great weather we ate at many places including Mickey Backyard BBQ and the new spirit of aloha show and stayed at the dolphin on the teacher rate.

How was your room / and which category did you have? Room location / view? Would you reccommend the dolphin? Any construction? Did you have a "newly redone room"? Pool cold?

Thanks, MKY

Yes, how is the remodeling coming? Or has it even started yet? Were the parks crowded?

How did you like the Dolphin? Did you notice if they started renovations yet? Welcome back!

Hi there,

I would like to hear more about the Spirit of Aloha Luau.. how were your seats? Dinner? and how did you enjoy the show?

Thanx and welcome home

We will be staying at the Swan in August and I am interested in as much detail as you care to share! How were the restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin? How is the walk to MGM and Epcot? What did you think of the pools? Did you do laundry while there? Were you able to get the $10 resort fee waived? If not, did you use the in-room coffee service -- does it include tea and other hot beverages? How is the bus service to DTD, MK and AK? The more detail the better, thank you.

Sorry It took me so long to get back to everyone's posts I had a lot of catching up to do at home and work.

When we arrived at the dolphin on Thursday night 4-17 it was about 10p.m. our room was 4202 at the far west end with a view of the pool grotto area. it was a standard room on teacher rate of 129.00. It had a small crowded feeling to it. when I opened the curtains to view the pool area, I had a great view of a palm tree smack up against my window. I knew I could not stay in this room for 10 days. It would have been fine for a couple of nights only. We spent the night and I got up around 6am and went to the front desk and explained that we had arrived late the previous night and asked if they had any other rooms available as we were staying for 10 days and could use a little more space and something a little more centrally located within the building. I was given a minisuite room I think it was called(or JR.suite) it was room 9095 it overlooked the boat launch between the swan and dolphin. This room was huge!! It had a double murphy bed for my hubsand and me and a sleeper sofa that my boys shared. The sofa bed I was concerned would be uncomfortable for them but they are small and they said it was fine. We had a bigger bathroom that the first room and it had 2 sinks one inside the bathroom and one outside. we also had a wet bar area with 2 long counters (kind of like a galley kitchen is set up ), long and narrow. with mini bar witch I paid to have emptied for the week for 20.00 dollars. There was also plenty of drawer and cupboard space for snacks and storage of plates cups etc. We went shopping at Goodings for some basic snacks, milk juice cereal lunchmeat , PBJ , bread etc. We had a huge double set of windows and could see all of swan hotel and tower of terror and fantasmic fireworks. from the windows I could see the clam shell fountains pouring into each other we were level with the second little clam from the top. There was one more above us and the others below and you could see them pour into the big clam shell at the bottom. This was a great room and I would request it again. They still gave it to me at 129.00 rate. I think it usually is more however. Windows do not open I think it is in the black shaded in area of the front of the dolphin in the big triangle. lower right hand side. The construction has started in the dolphin but it never disturbed us. The couple of times we returned to the room in the middle of the day you could hear hammering and saws etc. it was pretty loud above us. I don't know how far above us it was. If you were planning to rest during the day it would be difficult. They seemed to work between 9-5 because we never heard them in early mornings and we were always out by 8am or a little after. We also never heard them in the evening. Either way it was never a disturbance for us. We bought the refillable mugs and used them at Tubbys. We did not eat at the dolphin only used tubbys here and there. We did go to Gullivers at the Swan it was nice mostly had ps for disney restaurants . Transportation from here was great and prompt. We also walked from Epcot often it is a 10-15 min walk and that is a leisurely stroll not fast paced. I will post more later about meals and other places

Thanks soo much for the details. sounds like you had a great time at the Dolphin ( hoping my stay at the Swan is as good too! ) Michelle
