I miss it already. Just got back from staying at POP for 5 nights. Let's talk about POP. DVC definitely has me SPOILED!!!! POP was perfectly OK but that was it. I hated that when you opened the door to the room you had about 1/2" clearance before the door hit the bed. Same in the bathroom. THe door just about hits the toilet. So needless to say the room was small. We didn't get any towel animals from Mousekeeping (Maybe bc we left the tip at the end and not daily). The food court was crowded in the morning when we passed through to fill the refillable mugs but otherwise it was fine. We were in the 50's sections in the buiding and wing furthest from everything. But I personally did not think that the walk to the lobby and buses were bad at all. The cast members there were great. I had an incident where at 200am my son woke up SCREAMING that his ear hurt. I called down to the desk they were very helpful and I was able to get him Children's Advil. THANK GOD!!! I also asked if they could get me a taxi the next day if I had to take him to a clinic and they said of course and that they may even be able to get me a voucher. So overall POP on cash was just fine. But I did miss the "Welcome Home" and spaciousness of our beloved Villas.
As for the trip in general, it was great. The first 3 days were actually cool and comfortable. Weds, Thurs and especially Friday were HOT, HOT, HOT!!! And IT NEVER RAINED!!!! WOOHOO!! The parks were not crowded at all in my opinion. I was so suprised bc last year we went the same week and it was really crowded. I think the longest we waited was 30min for the Jungle Cruise.
I think the next part was the best part of the trip. We were at DHS on Tuesday, had lunch at Sci Fi Dine in (which was yummy). On our way out of the restaurant I glance over to my right and ummm hello... what do I see? A wait time and fast pass return time posted for Star Tours 2. Wait a minute is it open???? YES IT WAS!!!! The time posted said 40 min but it was more like 15min. The cast member out front said they were testing it out and running intermittently. It could close at any time. There were alot of supervisor type people inside taking notes. It was great. Another cast member later in the day told us the they didn't have enough employees off from work to test the rise so they used guests. Hey I'll be a guinea pig any day.
As usual the food was great!!! THe best meal we had was at La Hacienda de San Angel in EPCOT. I highly recommend the Shrimp Tacos!This meal was followed closely by Whispering Canyon Cafe. Umm Exucse Me did you say All You Can Drink Milkshakes? Sign me up!!.
Great trip overall. Just wish my son was less moody. The whole ear situation cleared up by Weds but he was still moody!
